  2. Hello @Nicastro Pietro, welcome to the Affinity forums.

In APhoto, go to preferences --> performance and disable hardware acceleration.

If that does'nt helps a crashreport is needed. To do so, press Windows key + R and type %appdata% and press enter. Navigate to affinity\photo\1.0\crashreports\reports.

There should be one or more .dmp file(s). Attach the file with the latest timestamp to your next post. And also the log.txt, you'll find them in the 1.0 folder, is be interessting.

  3. The problem that the Publisher hangs when you select the text styles can be solved by selecting the Text Styles tab and clicking on the "Hamburger" menu on the right-hand side and unchecking "Show examples".  The bug is fixed in the current beta version. You can find the beta here in the forum in the beta section.

Does the mouse pointer jerk when you work with the mouse or with the tablet? If you are using the tablet, the following preferences have worked well,
In the "Wacom Tablet Properties" tool, add a profile for the Affinity programme you are using. Now select the Pen tab and set "Double click distance of pen tip" to OFF. Click on the Projection tab and tick Force Proportions.

Now in the Affinity programme, go to Preferences --> Tools --> Set input method for graphics tablet to Windows Ink.

The jerking can possibly be stopped by using newer drivers for the iGPU.

  4. @Ladmentry the beta of APhoto. And if it does'nt helps a crashreport is needed.

Press Windows key + R. Type or copy&paste %appdata%\affinity\photo\1.0\crashreports\reports and press Enter or click OK.

If there is more than one .dmp file, please include the one with the latest timestamp in your next post. The log.txt is also of interest. You will find it in the folder ...\1.0\.... Attach this file as well.

  5. @rnadams2can you first try the beta of affinity photo. You'll find it at the forums beta section. With the beta you can also try to activate hardware acceleration back.

If this at all not helps we need a crash report.

@JayF Try the beta too to see if it helps. The beta has many improvements.

  6. @AlanPickupYou may be right, probably Windows 7 components have not been properly removed.
With such an error message, I would also advise a clean reinstallation.
But before that, let's see if we can get a result with home remedies.

    So let's get started.

    @3beanspls

Press Windows key + R, type cmd , hold down Shift + Ctrl and click OK.
    C:\Windows\system32\ appears.

Check if there are errors in the registry:
Copy Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth by right-clicking and paste into the prompt by right-clicking.

Scan data sets (partition) for errors
Copy Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth with a right-click and paste it into the command prompt with a right-click.

Scan Windows 10 for errors using Windows Update and have it repaired: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

If you have carried out the repair with Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth, you can run Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth again for safety's sake.

  7. I am running out of solutions. But he who gives up loses.
