  1. Hi all and welcome @Emgee to the forums. There are many improvements in the publisher beta. You can find them in the beta section of the forum. Show sample now also works.
  2. Hello @Ohbehave and welcome to the forum. Try with deactivatet hardware acceleration. In photo go to preferences --> performance.
  3. You can do it with OBS Studio. https://obsproject.com
  4. The better graphics card is the Radeon. You should test with it first. You could theoretically even switch off the Intel graphics in the BIOS, then you would even have more working memory available.
  5. Please check directly with Intel and AMD, as Microsoft does not (yet) always provide the latest drivers. Intel: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/126789/Intel-UHD-Graphics-620 AMD: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/radeon-500-series/radeon-500-series/radeon-530
  6. Have you installed the latest drivers for both graphics cards? Both graphics cards should be able to work with hardware acceleration.
  7. I can confirm this. The background is not transparent after the export. Counter-tested with a separate file with a transparent background; here too the background is white.
  8. However, the Windows setting per se does not change the renderer used by APhoto, but primarily the performance level that the GPU should use. This leads to the GPU and graphics card memory always working at full load. However, this is usually not necessary and unnecessarily leads to increased energy consumption. For someone who has to use a laptop on the road in battery mode, this is a no-go.
  9. Possibly, possibly not. It's like asking what came first. The chicken or the egg? But if it works for you with hardware acceleration deactivated, I wouldn't worry about it for now. I always say: "You don't miss what you don't know".
  10. The display of the text styles improves, a little bit, if you undock the style tab and change the height and width until the scroll bar disappears. The display error is independent of the font selected.
  11. Off Topic @Chris B I am puzzled and confused, as I copy the phrases from a text document which is UTF-8 encoded.
  12. Maybe there was an update in windows, that needed more resources. Do you use any third-party programme that works in the backround (e. g. Antivirus software)?
  13. The size change has no significant influence on the memory consumption of the individual files. It is only by rasterising and trimming that the memory consumption of an image file is reduced; or increased when an image is scaled up.
  14. How about using a mask to exclude areas that should not be changed?
  15. As there are a countless number of hardware combinations, it is unfortunately possible that there are conflicts with hardware acceleration with Affinity Suite programmes. In order for developers to be able to consider as many hardware combinations as possible, it is necessary to have the most accurate information possible about the hardware used. Support also benefits from this, as solutions that have helped with known hardware combinations can be communicated more quickly.
  16. Did you buy the programme from the Serif.Affinity store or from the Microsoft Store? If you bought it from the Microsoft Store, the path is %appdata%\affinity\photo\1.0 (store)\crashreports\reports After you have inserted the path text, hold down Shift + CTRL and click OK.
  17. To find out why Affinity Photo is not working for you as it should, we need some more information. What hardware is used, what operating system? Which version of Affinty Photo? If Affinity programs crash, a crash report is generated. It provides information about the cause. Press Windows key + R. Write or Copy & Paste %appdata%\affinity\photo\1.0\crashreports\reports If there is more than one .dmp file in the folder, please attach the file with the latest timestamp to your next posting. You can also try the beta, to find out if it works. You can find the beta in the beta section of the forum.
  18. Hello @Miguel Liria and welcome to the forums. Please deactivate the hardware acceleration in Affinity Photo. You can find this under Preferences --> Performance
  19. Hello @Sporkmanstudios All images are linked in the Publisher file, so it is very difficult to make external statements about any speed problems that may occur. Try the beta version. You can find it in the beta section of the forum. The beta has many improvements.
  20. I had not made myself clear there. For example, if you create a document with version 1.8.x, you can open it with a version 1.9.x. The other way round is very unlikely to work. And the recommendation to deactivate the hardware acceleration was at a time when I didn't know about the tip with show samples. You can also try the beta version, in which "show samples" works. There are further improvements in the beta version.
