Nothing happens when trying to "Refine"
Komatös replied to FraGar's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
Refine works as expected. It does not work across several layers. -

If you have the opportunity to test the beta, you should do so. @Sam Neil I know, you can't. The beta contains many improvements and is installed independently of the trial version.
-
And to find out whether the poor performance is due to the programme or the machine, it would have to be counter-tested with another machine.
-
Well, maybe the PC is also a little overwhelmed. An i5 is not, after all, a racehorse.
-
What If you try with the beta of publisher? There are many improvements.

Reducing the image size does not change the memory consumption. Only by rasterising to the changed size does a change in the required memory occur. The long creation time is probably due to the fact that the linked images are first downsized to the output size when the PDF file is created before they are rendered on the page. That is also the reason for the high capacity utilisation.
-
As I correctly suspected, the allocated video memory (VRAM) is low. An upgrade to 512 MB should bring improvement. And in general, I would recommend upgrading the memory to 16 GB. The preference for the VRAM can be found in the BIOS.

Affinity Photo 1.9.2 AP freezes after saving as
Komatös replied to Andyneu's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
What is your upload speed and which cloud provider do you use? -
How much RAM is reserved for the graphics card? Press Windows key + R and enter dxdiag in the input field. After DXdiag has collected all the data, click on the Display tab.

This bug does not occur with the current beta version.

The OP writes that it was only after the background was expanded that the text formation occurred. No one can be that blind, except perhaps me, that he/she would not have seen it immediately before. And I am not aware of Serif's affinity programmes reading watermarks from an image and superimposing them. And as long as the OP doesn't provide more information, it's like fishing in the mud.

@Suanough711you should delete the email adress in your post to avoid spam.

@Jeggers have you installed the newest drivers for the iGPU? If not install them. Don't click on the "Get started" button. Download the driver directly. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/30381/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers

First, make sure that all drivers are up to date, especially the graphics card drivers for Intel iGPU. You can/should also try with disabled iGPU in the BIOS to see if it works better.

@Rassel73 welcome to the forum. If BSODs occur, then it will be due to a driver. Please uninstall the graphics card drivers completely. The best way to do this is with the Display Driver uninstaller. After restarting Windows, you can then install the latest graphics card drivers. Scroll down the DDU page and click on the text link ***Official Download Here***. https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3480

Affinity Publisher freezes when Text Styles selected (split)
Komatös replied to beefer7's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
Hello @Dom159 untick "show samples". If you have the text style panel open, click right-hand the "Hamburger Menu". Or you can try the beta version, to find in the beta section. -
NVIDIA will discontinue driver development of the Game Ready Driver for Windows 7 and 8.1 on 31.08.2021. Only any security gaps that are found will then be closed. From October 4, 2021, only drivers for Windows 10 will be available. Furthermore, graphics cards with Keppler (780 - 630) GPU will no longer receive support.

Affinity Photo crashes randomly zoom in/out
Komatös replied to Garona's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
Hello @Garona, welcome to the forum. There is a problem with a part from the graphics card drivers. I recommend that you completely uninstall the graphics card drivers. And then reinstall them. For uninstalling, I would recommend the Display Driver Uninstaller. Scroll down the website and you will see a text link ***Official Download Here***. Click to download DDU. https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3480 -
Since the PSD format is not fully documented by Adobe, it is difficult or impossible for other companies to create 100% compatible files. So there are also PSD files that cannot be loaded error-free in Affinity Photo.
