It is not OK!
Group the text and brush layers first.
Then right click on the donut and do Mask to Below

Yes, it should; but it doesn't. I did have two (blank) layers visible, with the top one selected.
I will try and generate a screenshot.
This is all you should need

To get this

Can you post the picture so we can see.
I just tried this with a few different files and combinations and it worked every time.

I just realized I had to Resize Document DPI. It was set too low.
Ah. Actually, that is something well worth knowing. An easy thing to miss.

Shouldn't do that roddy.
This is set to about 700 points (Artistic text), cut and pasted between two .afphoto files, on top of an image layer. I tried a few different fonts.

This is Frame text, also about 700 pt. This was a new text layer, drawn on top of an image

Yes Reality1 has been quite buggy in places. Hopefully existing owners will get an upgrade discount to v2.
I have tried the Alpha release of V2 but there were too many bugs for it to make sense,

Yes, I should have specified tool to add different types of head and end of line. That is why I proposed to draw the head and tail of the arrow after vectoring the outline of the line. This makes it possible to precisely make the start and arrow patterns you want.
Then they can be put in the Assets "for later use.
I've only just loaded Designer and actually learned a fair bit from what you posted, I didn't know about expand stroke.
So Merci

Ah, the Arrow Shape. That seems to be better. But the thickness of the line seems to be synchronized with the thickness of the arrows. How can I set them separately?
Fill sets the fill
Stroke sets the stroke, colour or thickness
Black fill, 3pt yellow stroke

thicker stroke

if you click on Scale with object it will change as you scale it

At the moment there is no tool "Arrows", this must be added in a later version
I meant the shape tool

Thanks for your patience reglico. But I cannot find the Vectorize command. Only the Rasterize command.
A line is already a vector. You can't vectorize a vector.

That's true but PeterPanino was talking about drawing a single straight line.
I know.
But if you set the default to draw straight lines for some people, the people who want to draw shapes would say "Why is the Line Mode automatically selected when I click the Pen Tool" ?

You can't please everybody

Thanks reglico. With the Line Mode button, it works. No need to double-click.
Why is the Line Mode button (or one of the other Mode buttons) not automatically selected when I click the Pen Tool?
Most people use the Pen tool to draw shapes.

In Windows, it depends on the icon size

Is the stroke transparent ?

Some people (Americans for example
) don't speak English as a first language. They don't use Roman script or even write from left to right.
I would imagine if you had to speak Arabic, write in Abjad from right to left you would keep it to a minimum too?
And at least bulajap said Windows and Affinity Photo. Many people don't even mention what software they use and that they use iPads when they post here, despite it being the wrong place.
-
It already does.
This is for a Mac.
It seems Shift is Matte, Alt is Background, Ctrl is Foreground.
If you have selected Matte, Alt temporarily selects Background. Ctrl selects Foreground.
If you select Foreground, Alt temporarily selects Background, pressing down Shift temporarily selects Matte.
If you select Background, pressing down Ctrl selects Foreground. pressing Shift does temporarily select Matte.
**********************************
Edit.
That is correct for a Mac (confirm anyone?). and is shown on the Refine Edges Video but does not work on a Windows PC.
On a PC you need to use the Right Hand Mouse button instead of Ctrl.
See below.

You can do this with Boolean operations, I think
I turned the B into curves

"Divided" the B shape to make three shapes. Inner shapes coloured for emphasis.

Drew a small rectangle.

"Added" the three inner shapes

and then "Subtracted" the inner B shape from the outer B

That is one combined shape.

All done using the menu commands, Layer > Geometry

I don't know toltec, the transform anchor point really has nothing to do with the placement of the first character in text. I guess under just the right circumstances the upper left could be handy to use when scaling text. Once or twice every eclipse or so I guess.
Do you personally use the upper left position more than the center position?
Mike
Well, yes, especially when creating something for a web page. In fact starting anywhere else would be very difficult.
You have to choose somewhere and I suppose that top left is the most obvious place, especially as so much design these days needs to be for page and web.
