Can you post the picture so we can see. I just tried this with a few different files and combinations and it worked every time. -

Some people (Americans for example ) don't speak English as a first language. They don't use Roman script or even write from left to right. I would imagine if you had to speak Arabic, write in Abjad from right to left you would keep it to a minimum too? And at least bulajap said Windows and Affinity Photo. Many people don't even mention what software they use and that they use iPads when they post here, despite it being the wrong place. -
It already does. This is for a Mac. It seems Shift is Matte, Alt is Background, Ctrl is Foreground. If you have selected Matte, Alt temporarily selects Background. Ctrl selects Foreground. If you select Foreground, Alt temporarily selects Background, pressing down Shift temporarily selects Matte. If you select Background, pressing down Ctrl selects Foreground. pressing Shift does temporarily select Matte. ********************************** Edit. That is correct for a Mac (confirm anyone?). and is shown on the Refine Edges Video but does not work on a Windows PC. On a PC you need to use the Right Hand Mouse button instead of Ctrl. See below.

Connect/Reorient Nodes within Shape
toltec replied to mikeill's topic in Tutorials (Serif and Customer Created Tutorials)
You can do this with Boolean operations, I think I turned the B into curves "Divided" the B shape to make three shapes. Inner shapes coloured for emphasis. Drew a small rectangle. "Added" the three inner shapes and then "Subtracted" the inner B shape from the outer B That is one combined shape. All done using the menu commands, Layer > Geometry -

Shift, Control and Alt. If you look on the bottom of the Affinity window, the Status bar displays what each one does for whatever tool you have selected at that time. The reconstruct is basically an Undo. although progressive.
