I don't think this has anything to do with marketing. Desinger is simply missing a feature it should have and is in another affinity app. One of the less obvious problems with subscriptions is what about the months you don't use the app at all, but pay anyway ? seems like subscriptions should have some hourly use option, like 100 hrs per year or something that would make it better for occasional users. I've removed all subscriptionware from my machines. Besides infrequent use problems, you also have the digital abyss problem of when a project file gets old, you let your subscription go for a while and now the current subscriptionware won't open it. you can't install old vers because the installer isn't available for any number of reasons ( try to install adobe video apps from about 2014-2018, no can do due to legal licensing issues ) then you are stuck. That or the company stops allowing old copies that are installed to license and run. See sony PS1, etc. Reality is long term you need to keep an old mothballed machine running for old apps and OS for survivability of certain project files and media. but that wasn't the conversation, its De missing text wrap which should be there.

respectfully, where is it written that wrapping text is "page layout" vs basic design with text ? IL does it. thats just silly to have to buy another app for such a basic function and make everything more complicated. life should be about simple and changing apps is more complicated than it needs to be.

Option to add Text Wrap under Customize doesn't exist, there are no icons to add that look like what's in tutorial Menu->View->Studio no Text wrap option Searching in Help menu yields nothing where is it ? I've RTFMd, watched tutorial showing button group in toolbar b ut its no where to be found.

Every time I start up Photo 1.7.3 it puts up an error dialog " There was a problem connecting to the server "Myserver" The share does not exist try again"... actually it looks like an OS error dialog Same thing when I open prefs_> PS Plug ins, in which case it generates an endless loop of close the dialog and open it again for the same server. The server in question is OS X 10.15.2 office server with backup storage. Its online and works fine, as does all shares it has. I think the problem is that some how Photo thinks there are PS plugins located on the server rather than the local volume. I have ONE ps plugin on my local machine. How do I clear the pref ? the UI is responsive if I'm super quick to close the pref panel between dialog error re appearing and taking focus from the app there must be a pref file somewhere I can delete but so far I haven't been able to delete the right one, nor did a reinstall clear the error either. S

yes of course regular install / location. on 10.15 you can't do much else even if you wanted to now

I have 2 copies. one bought thru apple app store, other was included with some other purchase I made. On machine giving me problems, app store app indicated I need to DL Photo, but also sees version 1.7.2 is installed which is a previous beta. When I launch the current beta, it asks for email + activation code which I put in, but doesn't work... but it does / should work. suggestions ? delete prev beta, installed 1.7.1 from apple app store. it runs ok. started up 1.7.2 beta and still asks for email + activation and fails S

create a PSD in photoshop, say a solid rectangle in the middle of an image leaving empty transparent areas. save as PSD open in Photo 1.7.1 and trans parent areas filled with white/ alpha channel in channels panel shows correct alpha, or at least an inverted one where white is supposed to be transparent areas. can't edit, paint, select on alpha channel to delete it, or in any way fix it. any apps now using the image downstream will have the transparent areas filled if you save the image out. PSD transparency used to work ok. UPDATE : opened image from Photo into PS, and Photo had some how added a solid white layer as the BG most layer. For any app using the layers transparency, this killed the transparency even though alpha channel looked ok. Saved PSD out of PS and went onto the rest of the job Item is Vector smart object and it doesn't appear to actually be rasterized into pixels because you can't just delete the empty area. when importing the PSD from Photo into OS, there is new white solid layer. image attached to post below S

Hi Callum I did that and nothing changed. I'm repro-ing on 2 systems also. MBP 10.14.0 and MP 10.13.6. App vers was updated to 1.6.11 but also had the same problems with 1.6.7 also if you hit reset twice in a row in the keyboard prefs panel, app crashes. S

This has been an on going problem. Many keystrokes for commands simply don't work. Any involving the delete or backspace key, space bar, command key + key, option + key fail to work or invoke oddly undo. yes I have my keyboard language correctly ID'd in system prefs yes I have my lang = US English in system settings yes I have disabled a few finder commands that conflict with other apps like Command + Space bar yes other apps work perfectly fine, its only Photo 1.6.7 thats a problem. 10.14.6 or 10.14.1+ S

can merge layers actually marge layers ? I don't mean make a new layer combined from the layers you had selected. I mean actually merge the selected layers together into one and done. generally speaking I merge layers to get rid of layers that are done and only contain part of the combined final layer... so yes I really want to get rid of the parts and combine into a single layer also nasty bug when merging layers : create 4 layers where each layer has 1/4 the image filled, the rest empty. its a simple grid with each 1/4 corner filled. you count them : top right 1, top left 2 bottom left 3 and bottom right 4, stacked with 1 at the top. try to merge them now. you can only manually merge 2->3, 3->4. if you group select it makes a new layer once you you. manually / single merge 2 + 3 +4 ok. the result is the area of 1 is still empty. if you now try to merge layer 1 into the lower layer, the alpha channel reverses leaving area 1 solid, but areas 2-4 empty as the result. the work around ? move the layer combing 2-4 ABOVE layer 1, then merge that down and it will work correctly. S

public beta may fix this... I was able to edit image open in Fusion w/o problem, thnx !
