After pasting the image, select the Move tool, click on the image and resize it from the corners, dragging the bounding box control handle.

Cmd + ` only works for Separated mode (Window -> Separated Mode). In regular mode use ctrl+tab to change views instead.
 
I'm not sure i understood your second question:
- Fill/Stroke context toolbar flyouts now support noise/opacity slider for colours
This point refers to the ability to toggle between noise and alpha in the Fill and Stroke flyouts panels on the context toolbar (see image below).
Earlier this was only possible in the Color panel on the right of the interface. Now you can do it through the context toolbar too.

As far as i know Ben is currently working on this. You shouldn't have to wait much longer...

Using the picker and clicking on a white (or brightest) pixel doesn't need a percentage, ° Kelvin or anything else.
 
But it would help a lot if AP would feature an auto white balance, where the software selects the brightest pixel and adjusts the image accordingly for a perfect white balance.
 
The picker is great if you want to modify the WB to emphasize a certain mood (if you know the color theory).

...later today you'll be able to import .abr brushes into Affinity Designer Beta and Affinity Photo Beta too! :)

If someone insists on specific short cuts, he/she should keep the software that offers these shortcuts.
 
I am always open for new things, and I think it is just a matter of a few weeks to get accustomed to other key combinations.

command + is zoom in and command - is zoom out.  Always has been when using any Mac app.  I wouldn't want this behavior to change.  Why change the default Mac behavior?  If someone is used to the way Illustrator works then use illustrator!  I would want the Affinity UI to match the default UI behavior to keep things in sync.
 
-1 vote to switch between documents using command +.  Control tab works just fine in either windowed or full screen mode.  Don't complicate things just for the benefit of the AI users out there. 

I'm aware that it only appears when you mouse-over it, the problem is it's inside the boundaries of the object.
It may interfere with object manipulation. The Node tool, was a bad example because it hides the bounding box controls anyway, but for select / transforming small objects (or zoomed out objects) with the Move tool it may pose problems.
 
I also don't like to go to the context toolbar for things that can be done in canvas, but i don't believe that placing controls (even mouse-over controls) inside the boundaries of the object is a good idea unless they are being used to control the object directly (like control handles, interactive line width or shape's parametric controls).
 
I'm sure there's more ways to do this in canvas without having to place the controls inside the boundaries.

Edit: I wanted to clarify, this is fixed for popups and flyouts, not for sheets sliding down from the top of the window.

We'll hand it to the Giraffe team... they can almost reach that fruit.   ;)

As A_B_C said you probably hit ⌘ (cmd) and clicked on a layer's thumbnail accidentally.

I think it's simply to soon to discuss about features like photomerge and HDR when we are still working on getting the basics of the program right. We had to disable temporality the Macro Persona exactly for this same reason. 

 

Affinity Photo doesn't end with the 1.0 release. Those and a lot more features will be integrated as we move along. But all that will be irrelevant if the core functions don't work flawlessly. So we have to focus on what's relevant now and leave the rest to be implemented when appropriate. Until then we must work with what's already available - which for a Beta that's roughly at the middle of the development cycle for its first release - is quite good, I think. 

 

Andy posted a thread recently - Remaining development time - that goes a little further on detailing where we stand now and what's our priorities/roadmap for the next months. It will give you a better idea of where we are heading.

Made some custom Affinity Icons for the Affinity Family of Apps.

You can also press ⌘ (cmd) + A to select everything on canvas.
Depending on how the format was exported you should be able to get vector data (that don't pixelate) from eps, pdf and psd.

Go to View -> Snapping Manager and uncheck Show snapping candidates.
There's currently no way to change the color of the background other than filing a layer with a solid color.
