MEB got a reaction from Bryonie in Freehand selecting in Designer
    Hi @Bryonie,
The selection tools in Pixel Persona only allows you to work with/select raster data, you can't use them to select vector objects. There's a method you can use in Designer for desktop for which i have recorded a video (see below) - however I only realised you are working on an iPad after I recorded it. I haven't tried it on iPad yet (you may need a wireless keyboard connected to the iPad to perform this there) but i believe it's possible to do the same there (I'm a bit late for lunch now to check and record a new one on iPad). Hope it helps anyway:

    Hi @Bryonie,
The video doesn't have sound. I'm using the Node Tool but you have to press and hold ALT (on Windows) to be able to draw a "freehand selection" around the nodes. On macOS the equivalent modifier key is OPTION/ALT as i highlighted in the video at 0:53s (the symbol that appears in the dark overlay on the bottom right of the video).

MEB got a reaction from thedivclass in How to copy or cut a part of a path/curve???
    Hi @Andro;
    Welcome to Affinity Forums
Thanks for your feedback. This isn't available as you are aware but there's still another way to "replicate" a path that may be useful in certain circumstances. Please check the clip below for details: dragging a node over another one in other shape and waiting a couple seconds will copy/mimic that node's properties to the node you are dragging (make sure the cursor switch to the duplicate cursor). Regarding copying path nodes, I suggest you create a new thread (if there isn't one already) in the Feature Request section and add you voice there as it's the first place the developers look for feedback from users. Thanks.

    Hi KipV,
The object must be visible. I mean you can't use just the path "structure" without a stroke or a fill. It must be either filled, stroked or both. If you use a stroke as a mask make sure it's large enough otherwise you may think it's not working.

    Hi Scott, HVDB Phototography, Dave,
The new HSL adjustment was tweaked to output results more in line with other editors/maintain visual fidelity when exchanging files with hsl adjustment layers. These modification are by design/intentional.

    Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
The trial and the retail version are exactly the same except for the 10 day time limit in the trial.
To access the Inpainting Brush Tool click the small triangle on the bottom right of the Healing Brush Tool to open a pop up menu - see screenshot below:

My fault sorry. I though you're were talking about Affinity Photo. In Designer press cmd and click on the shape's thumbnail in the Layers panel.

MEB got a reaction from Catshill in Guide Colors?
    Hi @Mark Oehlschlager,
I've filled an improvement request internally (recently) to add the ability to change guide's colour in Affinity apps. It's now up to management/dev teams to consider/implement it. I agree it's something that's missing and hope it's added at some point.

We are still far away from this. I don't have much info about the scope of it (limited to DAM functionality only or a full RAW developer with DAM functionality included).
The current focus is on improving the current suite of apps.

    Welcome to affinity Forums
This issue should be fixed in the latest Affinity Photo Customer Beta 1.10.5.1227 (Win) which you can download from here in case you are willing to give it a try. Let us know if you still experience these issues in case you try the Beta.

MEB got a reaction from Daniel Finch in Resolution of some parts of graphic (Blurry)
    Hi @Mark Clifford,
I'm afraid the maximum sizes allowed by these social media services are not large enough to display your image with the map/text clearly legible. It's too much detail for an image that will be exported at just 1600x1300 pixels. In Designer you can zoom in and see everything clearly because all is composed by vector objects but when exported to a specific raster size it will only be sharp/legible when the image is viewed at 100% (zoom). Less than that the image becomes blurred, more than that and it becomes pixelated.

While working in Designer in documents which will be exported at the same size as the document always check your design at 100% zoom and also enable Pixel view mode or Retina pixel view mode (if you are using a high def/retina display) in the main toolbar so you can have a precise idea how the document will look after the export/rasterization process. If you open you file, set the zoom to 100% and enable Pixel view mode you can see that the map/text is not legible. Even the smaller text on the bottom right above the SnowWatch logo already suffers a bit with the rasterization. You should always design with these limitations in mind if you must export to a raster format.
