    Hi @Murkku,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums
Set the Channel of the Levels adjustment to Alpha to be able to affect the mask. By default its set to Master.

    Hi @dr220,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums
Did you use the Inpaint Brush Tool itself or the command from the Edit menu? It's not clear from your replies above. If you want to fill an area, select the (empty) area and use the Edit > Inpaint command to fill it. Depending on the image and the area you want to extend, the fill may work quite well or at least may be used as a base for further editing with the Clone and other tools. Sample clip below:

    Hi @PeterSvancar,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums
Please follow the steps described in my post above here. Or basically create a duplicate of the Affinity Photo.app file located in the Applications folder somewhere else (for example in the desktop Desktop) then drag the duplicate back to the Applications folder to overwrite the original app file. The duplicate should start as fast as it used to be.

    Welcome to Affinity Forums
Are you using Windows? If so right-click the application icon and select Run as Administrator then try to sign-in/register again. We are aware of some issues on our part/servers and are working towards a fix.

MEB got a reaction from thedivclass in How do I delete a document guide?
    Hi rhumbrecht,
Just drag them off the canvas. If you are using Artboards (Affinity Designer only) make sure you don't release the guide over another artboard.
Alternatively you can also go to menu View ▸ Guides Manager... and delete them for there.

    Hi bakfiet,
Thanks for the afdesign file. I'm afraid there's no way around this currently (getting layers to show in Illustrator) but from what we checked there's a possibility we may be able to improve the PDF export structure for Illustrator - we are investigating this. Thanks for your feedback and support.

MEB got a reaction from AHAM in How to erase a part of a vector object?
    Hi Cartoonjosh,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums
There's no vector eraser tool in Designer as you noticed. This is a feature that was requested quite a few times by other users (see here for example) already so there's a chance it may end up in the program later. Thanks for your feedback.

    Hi @sbe,
Thank for your feedback. Currently nested layers (layers dragged over the image's thumbnail) can't be selected as you noticed. It's working like this since the beginning and could do with some improvements. I'm logging this/passing your feedback to the dev team.

MEB got a reaction from William Overington in How much of a drawing started with the Pen Tool can be controlled by numbers rather than only by eye please?
    Hi @William Overington,
The handles cannot be manipulated through the Transform panel directly so you must adjust them by eye however you can set a grid and turn on Align handle positions using snapping options for the Node Tool in the context toolbar so you can snap the handles to the grid giving you more control/precision over them.

    Hi redline.wolfgang,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Some users already requested support for DXF and/or DWG files.
We are considering adding support for these kind of files in the future.

MEB got a reaction from CM0 in Closed Curves With Vector Brush – Gap?
    @CM0,
I believe you misunderstood me. I said in practise because it ends up leading to the same results. I'm not saying it's the same. With the roadmap users set wrong expectations based on misunderstanding its purpose, the same way a ranking will set false expectations based on the amount of votes a feature has. Most will simply assume the most voted features will come first and that's not true due to the reasons I stated above.
I know there's some ongoing internal talk to find a better system but I'm not the most suited person to disclose such plans/details.

Thank you for your feedback. I've updated/bumped the report to bring it up to management/development attention. It's up to them to decide what issues and when should be fixed first. Thanks for understanding.

    Hi Galvertron,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums
Check the screenshot below. Set the Cap to Butt Cap, and the Pressure Profile as shown in the screenshot. You can save this profile clicking on the Save Profile button for later re-use or save it as a Style from the styles panel (note that you must apply it to a closed shape (like a rectangle or anything else) to be able to add it as a style). Alternatively you can also use the triangle shape tool.

MEB got a reaction from Dan C in Alignment sometimes incomprehensible
    Hi @abra100pro,
If you use a regular document without artboards you don't have to worry about its X,Y coordinates. Just use File > Export and the dimensions will be correct.
If you need to use artboards and the Export Persona you do have to worry about their positioning. There's a few settings in your workflow that aren't helping here. In the main toolbar make sure you have Force Pixel Alignment enabled and Move By Whole Pixels (the icon in the middle) disabled (in your screenshot it's enabled). This last setting keeps any fractional values your object may have (being its X,Y coordinates or its width or height) and as such if for example you move (or transform) an object which has a x coordinate of 4,65 it will always end up with a coordinate of X,65 because that setting only allows you to move integer values. With it disabled objects with fractional values will be rounded to integers which is what you want.

When duplicating artboards, don't use option/alt + dragging. Option/alt overrides snapping and thus also overrides force pixel alignment thus you may end up with the artboards in fractional positions. To avoid this use cmd+dragging instead which also duplicates the artboards but honours the snapping settings thus keeping the Force Pixel Alignment active. Hope this helps a bit.

Do you have other input devices connected at the same time? For example a mouse and a pen/tablet which may be interfering/causing the panning? Have you tried to disconnect/connect the mouse/keyboard and check if the issue still happens? What OS version are you using?

    Hi Daniel Gibert, and all,
Sorry the delay getting back to you. This is indeed something that could be more consistent/improved but it's not exactly a bug and affects all the suite, not just Publisher. I'm moving it to the Suggestions for Affinity Range ( current & future ) since this section is just for reporting Publisher bugs. We may have this already logged as an improvement, I remember this issue was brought up a few times here in the forums. I'm checking this out and will fill an improvement request in case I don't find one. Thank you all for your feedback.

MEB reacted to neptronix in Thank you for Affinity Designer - Former Illustrator user.
This software is mindblowingly fun and fast to use. You have sold me an incredible powertool. It brought out the retired amateur artist in me. I went out, bought my first pen tablet, and designer got me straight up addicted now, considering how easy it is to work with a pen.
Recently, I was able to get a concept logo out of my head, into the pen, and into Designer within a minute.. Another ~5 minutes of mouse/keyboard action, and it was prettied up and finished. I could never work that fast in illustrator. Designer makes it particularly easy to work with a pen because it requires way less tool select changes.. with a basic 2 pen with two buttons on it, you map one button to 'select object' and another to 'bezier pen' and enjoy using 1 input device to get your initial work done, not 3, as in illustrator.
This makes drawing with a pen about as easy to do in vector as it is in a raster program.

Keep up the excellent work.. i'm certainly going to tell some people who currently use Illustrator to check this out..

    Hi @xiaobao2002,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums
I'm not sure I understood your question but here is what think you are trying to achieve: start drawing the ellipse as usual then while you do it, tap and hold with two fingers from your other hand on screen - you will see the ellipse will be drawn from its center.
Let me know if I misunderstood your question.

MEB got a reaction from JanaJanicka in How to fill space in between lines
    Hi @JanaJanicka,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums
Select the Pencil Tool, tap Use Fill in the context toolbar on bottom and select the colour you want to fill in, in the colour well that will appear on the right of the Use Fill button. Then in a layer placed below your line work, start drawing over the spaces you want to fill in (as if you were drawing a closed shape of the area you want to fill) and you will see Affinity filling the space as you draw. Don't worry if you don't "trace" exactly over your line work the first time - you can adjust the filled area anytime switching to the Node Tool and adjusting the nodes as required to fill any gap that may be visible.
