  1. Hi Patchwork, Click on the Snapping icon on the Persona toolbar to disable snapping. To turn off guides go to menu View and uncheck Show Guides.
  2. Hi Tom Nequette, The Beta becomes obsolete as soon as the corresponding Mac App Store version is released and so it's not recognised anymore. The current Mac App Store version (1.4.1) is the most up to date version available. As Lee D said the next Beta will recognise the the MAS version and will run as usual.
  3. Hi SLowmo75 You can disable it in Preferences: Affinity Photo ▸ Preferences, User Interface, untick Always show brush crosshair. I'm not aware of any shortcut to change this behaviour on the fly.
  4. Hi Florin, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Go to menu Layer ▸ New Adjustment Layer ▸ HSL Adjustment, set the dropdown on top to Greens and adjust the Saturation and Luminosity with the sliders.
  5. Hi Willy5454, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Can you try to reset the application and check again? To do it press and hold ⌃(ctrl) while launching the app, then select Clear from the dialog that will open. If the issue still persist can you post a dropbox link or similar to the file so we can check what's going on? Thanks.
  6. Hi Macoun, No worries :) I don't know why it didn't work the first time for you. When you open a JPG it opens as a Pixel layer. You should be able to delete a selection immediately. It may have been a pontual glitch. Are you able to reproduce the issue with another JPG file?
  7. Hi F_Kal, Currently that's not possible. This was already requested by a few users and may be eventually considered for a future version.
  8. Hi Macoun, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) That's because you are working with an Image layer type. Right-click on it in the Layers panel and select Rasterise... (to convert it to a Pixel layer). You should now be able to delete just the part you selected. Image layers are considered an object layer type, like Text or Shapes and can only be transformed at a global level (scale/skew/rotate etc). To work at a pixel level you must convert them to a Pixel layer as described above. You can identify the type of layer you are working with looking at the label in parenthesis after the layer's name in the Layers panel.
  9. Hi Valentín Benavente, The original document shouldn't disappear. I will log this. To avoid this situation, when in a single page document change to the Artboard Tool, Click the Insert Artboard button in the context toolbar first (to place your existing single page document into an artboard) then draw the second artboard on the canvas. @F_Kal To do that change to the Artboard Tool and click the Insert Artboard button in the context toolbar. The existing document will be converted to an artboard. [EDIT] This is by design. Instead of drawing a new artboard directly on the pasteboard, convert the existing document to an artboard as described above.
  10. Hi dizeyner, That Feather command is for pixel selections only as @crabtrem pointed out. It's only available from the Select menu when you are in Pixel Persona. Currently there is no Feather functionality for vector objects. It's planned but still may take a while until its available. Meanwhile you can use the Gaussian Blur FX effect to create similar effects as @crabtrem also suggested. Regarding opening the file, i'm not sure what you are seeing (a screenshot of the application with the Layers panel visible in both situations would help) but assuming it's the same file the layers must be the same in both cases. Can you also post a screenshot of a layer item in the Layers panel that you are having trouble duplicate or a file and tell me the item you are having trouble with? Thanks.
  11. Hi zitemedia, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Before creating a new preset make sure you select one of the three Modes (Original Ratio, Custom Ratio or Absolute dimensions) at the top of the dropdown. This works correctly. Don't create a preset with unconstrained mode selected as this leads to the issue described by the OP. This issue is already logged.
  12. Hi Fred Luskin, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) There's no Clone Brush Tool in the Extensions. You have to use the main application (Affinity Photo) for that. @dizeyner The Clone Brush Tool is only available in Affinity Photo.
  13. Hi Joe, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Yes, that's correct. You can't create a panorama from opened documents/images. As far as i know, there's no automated way to send the the pano back to Capture one. You have to import it manually from there.
  14. Hello Mariusz, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) This is already planned for a future version. Check our roadmap for more information on what's coming.
  15. Hi MikeFromMesa, That's because the Beta 1.4.1 is now obsolete. We already released the corresponding Mac App Store version (1.4.1), which is now the most up to date version, so the Beta is not recognised anymore (you can safely move it to the trash). A new Beta cycle will start soon.
  16. Hi rsbron, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Move the Affinity app from the Applications folder to the Trash (and empty it) then install it again from the App Store app.
  17. Hi seuk280, Make sure you have the correct layer selected in the Layers panel. Some of those tools don't work in other layers types (adjustments, filter layers etc). Also make sure the layer is identified as a Pixel layer (check the label between parenthesis after the layer's name). If it's identified as an Image layer, right-click on it and select Rasterise... in the Layers panel.
  18. Hi Right2life, Sorry, i forgot the word menu before the commands. To disable the spell checker go to the menu on top: Text ▸ Spelling and uncheck Check Spelling While Typing.
  19. Hi Makkah, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) They are probably referring to Photoshop scale. If it's an 8 "High Quality" it corresponds to around 66% in Affinity since the scale in Photoshop goes from 1 to 12. So if you pick around 65% you should be fine.
  20. Hi AntonW, Yes, it should be rasterised on import but currently Affinity doesn't do it. This is already logged to be looked at. Affinity Designer will have a Gradient Mesh Tool later too, (check our roadmap for more info on what's coming) but i don't know at this point if it will be able to translate Illustrator gradient meshes into editable meshes/objects in Designer.
  21. Hi AntonW, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) The blue part that's missing is an Illustrator gradient mesh. Affinity doesn't support them and so it cannot be imported as an editable object. I'm not sure why it doesn't get rasterised on import (raster image) or if it's supposed to. I will ask to the dev team.
  22. If it's only one symbol (@) you can convert it to curves going to menu Layer ▸ Convert to Curves before exporting, or export the PDF and set the Embed Fonts dropdown (clicking on the More button on the bottom of the Export dialog) to Text as Curves. Any chance you can provide us the font for testing? PM me a link if you don't want or can't post it publicly.
  23. Hi virtualshift, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Here's another way: go to menu Filters ▸ Colors ▸ Erase White Paper.
  24. Hi DonaldMids, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Affinity is a new line of professional design software for Mac. You will find plenty information on Affinity site. There's also a trial available for both applications: Designer & Photo. Any questions you may have just ask away :)
