I login just to show support to the previous posts.
I could die in peave if one of the following happen:
New item/artboard was inserted at the BOTTOM of layer list instead of TOP (Moving new item to the bottom once I create them has become my muscle memory now) Have option to export PDF in particular order Top to bottom and Left to right is the only way this world works my dear Serif...

    I agree with 3joern.

Right now I'm working on a presentation in AD and after exporting all is reversed.
    YES: REVERSED.
It opens it in the wrong order.
AD is my 'better' tool for making presentations. How have I done presentations earlier? In PowerPoint. Since forever slides were presented FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. How I read books? I read line to the end of it AND THEN, THE "NEXT LINE" is BELLOW. How I organise artboards on canvas? FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. But my layers stack have to be totaly out of the order, because you are to lazy? to add one checkbox in export options: "export slides from top to bottom"? Where's the problem to add that one check box? Btw. I would have it allways checked, because I always read from TOP TO BOTTOM.
Please don't think that we are the only ones who has a problem with this. Other designers just don't want to waste their time writing here if such as simple feature hasn't been added since 2016's post. Yeah, I spoke to other users about it

Affinity/Serif, please hire an professional ergonomist who is familiar with Interface usability and user logic. This is not a job for programmers.
The thing with the page export in reverse order, because the artboards are always inserted at the top of the page, although they are then automatically inserted from left to right, is completely confusing. Sorry too many WTF moments lately with Affinity Designer. On so many levels such a great tool but then so many teething troubles which are really annoying.

From a technical point of view, you are very right, Dave. But from a user’s perspective things look a bit different, in my opinion. The Layers panel presents itself as a list, and according to all customs and conventions, it seems natural not to look at the bottom of a list to find the first item on the list. I am quite sure that nobody reads a list from bottom to top, regardless of the technical aspects that might underlie the creation of it … so the confusion is all too understandable …  ;)

Never mind, the implementation of a Pages panel should solve this problem …  :)
    Cheers, Alex

This software is mindblowingly fun and fast to use. You have sold me an incredible powertool. It brought out the retired amateur artist in me. I went out, bought my first pen tablet, and designer got me straight up addicted now, considering how easy it is to work with a pen.
Recently, I was able to get a concept logo out of my head, into the pen, and into Designer within a minute.. Another ~5 minutes of mouse/keyboard action, and it was prettied up and finished. I could never work that fast in illustrator. Designer makes it particularly easy to work with a pen because it requires way less tool select changes.. with a basic 2 pen with two buttons on it, you map one button to 'select object' and another to 'bezier pen' and enjoy using 1 input device to get your initial work done, not 3, as in illustrator.
This makes drawing with a pen about as easy to do in vector as it is in a raster program.

Keep up the excellent work.. i'm certainly going to tell some people who currently use Illustrator to check this out..

The Noun Project is a great resource with more than a million icons in their library.

It has a simple API, and there are existing plugins available for some of the Adobe tools, as well as Google and Microsoft.

This would be a great feature integration into the Affinity suite of tools.

APub will have all the functionality needed to work as a standalone product and to produce the range of documents it is intended to be able to produce at this stage in its development.
Due to the tight integration with all other Affinity products, APub will have easy access to additional features found in those products if you have also purchased Affinity Photo and/or Affinity Designer

    Installation of Software and Updates
If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store— each time you start the software it will check for updates and offer to download and install any available update. For the macOS release, in the application main menu there is an option "Check for Updates". Alternatively, you can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "download" button in there. Updates are installed automatically (or manually by installing the new version over the old) Previous builds do not need uninstalling first. New installations of paid software downloaded from the Affinity Store requires a product key and email pair to use.
Software downloaded from the Mac App Store, Microsoft Store and iPad store do not require a product key and are updated through the relevant store:
If you’ve purchased from the Mac App Store— updates are done automatically next time you run your software after it is available in the Mac App Store. However, you do need to be logged in with the same Apple ID you used to buy them. If this does not happen for you, open the Mac App Store app and go to the Updates page and then Store > Reload page or press CMD+R. This should hopefully force the update to show. Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world which can mean it may take up to 72 hours for your update to be available.
If you’ve purchased from the Microsoft Store— Microsoft Store updates are done automatically by the operating system (each time you start the application). If this does not happen for you, open the Windows Store app and click the three dots in the top right corner of the app and then go to Downloads and Updates. Click Get Updates. This should hopefully force the update to show.
If you’ve purchased from the Pad Store— Your Affinity iPad apps should update automatically next time you run them. However, you do need to be logged in with the same Apple ID you used to buy them. If the automatic update does not happen for you, go to the iPad Store app and go to Updates. Once you’re there, tap near the top of the screen where it states 'Updates' and then hold, pull down and then release. This should manually refresh the updates page. However, don’t contact us if the updates are not available for you yet—Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world and this can take up to 24 hours.

Hello everyone. Testing Affinity Publisher on mac alongside Indesign make me wondering to do the switch as soon as the Beta is closed and the software released.
I can't say how great this is looking and how great is the idea to have finally an alternative to Adobe. I'm using on my iPad also and in general when not in the office.
For sure one desire is to see the iPad version to be identical to the desktop. Bleed, overprint etc on Design just to mention something. Also would be nice an iPad version of Publisher.
I'm also suggesting that if we are talking of design suite I really miss an alternative to Adobe Acrobat. You can find many but they all missing a PRINT PRODUCTION functionality.
Wonderful team at Affinity (Serif) can you think about it and have a consideration about it?

I would certainly like to see a CorelDraw (.CDR) importer in Designer too!  There are more users, and ex-users, of CorelDraw than people think.  I would like to see import functionality added for versions 10 - current for .cdr files.

    Hey guys,
Make the Affinity Designer able to import filesfrom CorelDraw (CDR files), because Corel has many users on the Windows platform, maybe we are more in number than the total users of Adobe Illustrator throughout the Mac platform.

Importing INDD requires that Publisher has the stable features to replicate what ID does. This is why you're not going to see INDD/IDML/INX import immediately.

I can't give any timelines for this (IDML import, not INDD). It's being worked and will be in an update when it is considered working and relatively stable. But I would be talking more than a few weeks in not months, It's not a simple thing to just implement
