  1. the menu commands work, but the shorcuts no.

i struggled hours, then discovered this:

the shorcut is Cmd+PageUp / PageDown. but the menu shows a simple arrow, and i think it's the cursor arrow.

if i set the shorcut to the keyaboard arrow, i get a full triangle.. see the screenshot:

the UP is the default "Page Up" key (that new macbook pro don't have, btw)

the DOWN is the "Arrow down" key.

i think this think should be explained somewhere

It's reasonably visible in the UI, in my opinion.

It's also described in the Help for Placing files: https://affinity.help/photo2/en-US.lproj/pages/Media/placeImages.html

    absolutely not so "visible".

we are talking about the size of an image: the first and second place where i look is in the transformer panel, and then contextual menu Transform

NB: i use computer and multimedia software since 1989.. i never struggled so much with software UI/UX as with Affinity suite.. I am sorry to say it.

They had one before and that did not seem to be a concern.  The real problem is that plans change often enough during the ongoing development of the product that the roadmap is not really accurate.  When things do not happen the way people think they should it leads to even more complaints and questions when there is no roadmap at all, so they finally dropped it and stopped providing one.

i remember the "old" roadmap... quite very detailed... too much :)

i know, people love to complain.. anyway.. new betas should be released in the 2.x cycle.. so maybe we'll be half-way

  4. now that v2 is here, with many new features, but many pros still needs some to really be comfortable with the Suite...

could we please have a minimal roadmap on what you are working on?

even something really generic like this Trello roadmap (for the Obsidian app).

we know, and you know, that we don't have many other options today.. or Adobe, or Affinity, unless we want to use separate apps for specific works..).. we want to support you, but we need to be kept engagend, and know where you are going!

for example: if you aren't goind to support ePub or external texts in Publish.. we aren't goind to use it for next books.

if you aren't supporting RTL before 3/5 years, we accept it and use something else from today.

if you plan automation in 2 years, we could use a temporary solution...

    thank you!

StudioLink in Publisher provides access to only the two main Personas in Designer and Photo: the Designer Persona from Designer, and the Photo Persona from Photo. You do not have access to, for example, the Export Persona (Designer, Photo) nor to Photo's Develop Persona, Tone Mapping Persona, or the Liquify Persona. To get access to those from Publisher you would need to use File > Edit in Designer or File

so, Designer and Photo Persona are embedded into Publisher, right? and activated only if it finds the application installed, right?

  6. it's more than 3 years that it asked: why when i press ctrl+cmd+I for image resize, the first field of the resize form doesn't get automatically selected? you force me to press TAB to select it (even worse use the mouse)

why if i am in Flood Fill Tool, i can't pick a colour by pressing any ctrl/shift/cmd key? i have to manually change to the Colour Picker, pick a color, and then go back to Flood Tool

why when i open an image it doesn't open at 100% (but at 105%!??!)

why if i select crop, i can't have a modifier to constrain to 1:1 (square).. or if i manually select it.. and come back later to crop i lose the selection?

and many many others oddities like these

i really don't understand.. there are bare minimum UX that every (at least in the Mac world) app has since 20 years... i would really like to use Affinity apps (i have all 3) but keep going back to Pixelmator that at least has a "normal" UX

hope to see some improvements by 2.0

Well, it is far short of being able to do anything, but it is certainly true that simpler apps are easier to learn ... but isn't that always true?

well .. if i wasn't  developer and mac user since 30 years, i know that even the most complex machines must be easy to understand, and show the real expected behaviors as default... if i want to resize the image, it's obvious that i want, since i need, to input a width.. you don't show me an empty form where i HAVE to click a second time to input a value.

i want to apply a filter.. i don't care, i don't want to know, if the Greyscale filter is destructive or not.. i want that to be applied in 2 seconds. and if it's descritive, you'll show a warning before applying it. or you mark somehow the destructive one to differenciate from the realtime one.

    it's simply basic UX design.

and i think that Affinity has a lot to improve in that (otherwise we'll go back to Pixelmator for simple things, or to Adobe for the complex ones)

  8. i really can't understand: i do CMd+I / C to resize the image or canvas.. we got the resizing form but the focus isn't on the first field.. i have to manually press tab to select a field, or even worse use the mouse.

press C to crop.. ok the mode is set to unconstrained by default, but why there isn't ANY possibility to keep the current proportions? (using cmd, ctrl, shift, alt, for example)

i'm mostly in the move tool. but with this tool i always see violet rects around each layer/object.. there isn't a command to turn them off, but i have to change tool.. why do we need this? so annoying!

i want to have an image in gray scale/black and white... after spending 3 minutes in the Filters menu.. i discover that that basic feature is in the Adjustment panel.. how did you split the effects in the two so different areas of the app? why Auto Levels is in the Filters menu, but the Levels filter is in the Adjustment panel?

i really try to love Affinity apps (i have all), but too often open Pixelmator to do the simplest things because i know that it makes features where i expect them to be! (PS: i am a Mac user since 1991, started with Photoshop 2.0)

    ciao
