Just trying out the Beta, and looking good so far.
However, one of the most used features (for me) of PagePlus over the years was the ability to create fillable PDF forms.  I'm often asked by clients to create these fillable forms, and PP does everything I need.  Single and multi-line text boxes, check boxes, drop boxes, list boxes, date boxes (with calendar), and much more.
Will the final version of Publisher have these options?

    Hi@bowen192,
If you cannot see them in the layer studio, can you attach the .afdesign file ?
    Thanks,

In Illustrator you could change a line into a zig-zag or wavy line. You could change the number of segments and ridge size and shape

Is there an equivalnet or what would be the best way to do this in AD?

I would have thought this had been covered, but it's a feature I'm keen on seeing, so I'll risk suggesting it again.
The Dash Line Style in Stroke is flexible but struggles to give a neat finish on shapes. For example:

AD can only produce Image A, but other leading software can intelligently convert it (on the fly actually) to Image B.

Freeware, but ultra basic (but a lot of ppl just need this) : Microsoft Gif Animator.

Open source, but I recommended first MS gif Animator just because this one I haven't tested, but OS software gets always my preferent vote, is this little thing, a bit more advanced than MS gif animator, called GifApp.

Gale is amazing, much focused in pixel art painted sprites (in case you do that thing). And free. For actually loading and saving animated gifs, is needed the commercial version, that price in yens I believe is around 18$, and I think you can purchase directly there even if you are not in Japan (used to be an issue with japanese software, the payment platforms had its issues. I think you can purchase it right away there.)

The one used in mobile game studios like Gameloft (so that's quite remarkable) is in a good portion of projects, (or used to be, am now a bit disconnected, not working in that anymore) is Pro motion. i don't particularly like it, but some colleague insists is the best piece on earth to make sprites.(my main tool at jobs was always just PS combined with Animation Shop from an old PSP 7.x/8.x, loading layered PSDs to preview the anim and draw at real time animation). There's a free version very limited, but i don't know your needs. It does export animated gifs, again, dunno if does so the free one.

Going higher in features(or actually, equal or less than Pro motion, but this one heading higher resolution work more than pure pixel art) and capabilities, (but for pixel art probably Gale and Pro Motion are better) , DragonBones. Dunno if can export gif anim (you can always just load the PNGs of the anims into MS gif animator.). Seems is free, I yet don't understand why...price 60$ or so, I believe...

My favorite for sprites (of higher resolution; Casual/shareware/web/tablet/phone games, not so much pixel art) animation : Spine. used largely by many Unity engine game studios. Funnily, I've never seen if it exports gif animated, but I'd bet that thing does even make your morning coffee, so, yep. But yes, expensive... You check the features and the good name among pros that it has, and you then you understand the why...

Edit: Of course, you can use my favorite free painting tool (which I plan to use in perfect combination with AD and A. Photo) Krita which in version 3.x stable adds animation. A bit over complex UI though for newcomers, for what is the animation module. (opposite to its painting UI) , but I like how advanced it is already, will have a look with more time at some other moment.

And at last, there are sites to make your gif anims, and download them, but I never like that for privacy reason, and lack of control.

I would also be able to switch to Affinity Designer if it can incorporate the ability to export vector data out into a DWG file format so that i can import into Autocad & 3dsMax. thx

I'd like give this thread a bump.  I check back on Affinity Designer  every couple of months to see if anything has been done about DXF import/export.  Nope.

Every now and again someone new comes in to these forums and asks about DXF and gets a response about it being "on the roadmap" or some such, but people (myself included) have been asking about it for 2+ years.  Doesn't really seem important to Affinity.

I have tried the various "workarounds" - PDF in and out - maybe my cad tool isn't the greatest PDF writer, but information is lost or not scaled properly.    .DXF to SVG through Inkscape - cumbersome process, many steps, and prone to data loss/change or mis-scaling.

Reading my CAD-generated DXF into AI, adding/editing the artwork, then exporting a DXF to my laser shop, or an EPS to the print shop just works - no muss, no fuss.  It just kills me to pay Adobe over and over again.  Paying the CC charge is onerous for a tool I only use once every couple of months.  I want to move away from them.  I am guessing there are plenty of commercial customers in the same boat as me - as well as the entire world of "Makers" whom I bet would jump in if DXF worked well.

However, hacking through a set of improvised steps to get into and out of AD with multiple tool dependencies isn't going to cut it as a replacement for a production tool.  I would happily pay an upgrade to Affinity Designer to get native DXF ability into a new version of the tool.  I like the interface and want to start using it.  I just can't without this capability.  Hey, Affinity!  Any solid news on DXF capability?

Maybe quantity of posts will help with this feature request:  I absolutely NEED DXF import to make Affinity useful to me.  I keep an ancient copy of Illustrator around simply because it does this.

My application is for the silkscreening and label generation for electronic products.

My CAD tool is SpaceClaim - a wonderful tool for usability, but very limited in terms of things it exports.  DWG/DXF is the only usable vector format it will export.

Very detailed and relatively complex information is exported in the DXF, exactly to scale.  That is the aspect that needs to be preserved.  If I export as PDF, I lose the scale.  I cannot capture as raster files and reconvert as information is lost and it is not accurate enough to do what I need.

I have read other posts and it sounds like others wish to do exactly as I.  I periodically check on Affinity to see if this capability has been added.  Until it is added, I cannot switch over to it from Illustrator - and believe me, I WANT to move away from Illustrator.  I regret not having checked this exact capability before actually paying for Affinity Designer.   I just assumed it HAD to be there.

I like the looks and the promise of the Affinity Designer tool, but without this key capability (DXF import), I cannot yet use it or recommend its use to my peers.

I've been playing around with AD and I like the software and its interface, I use CorelDRAW for vector design and I really wish that you start real development to your software to make us ready and reliable to convert to it, I will put my notes below and I wish you consider them in the next updates:
Support RTL languages (offcourse this is a deal breaker for me). Styles or effects (like perspective to match an image to a shape, blend to draw a shape along bath, contour, shadow, etc). Trace bitmap tool (it is available with options in Illustrator, CorelDRAW, Inkscape, and others). Tables and spiral shape. Fill with pattern (a specific method or tool to apply the pattern to a shape). 2 lines toolbar (to have more space for more tools).

    Hi chris.bannu,
    1. Check if you have the Candidates dropdown set to Candidates List. If so the program will only snap to a maximum of 6 objects by default (you can increase this value in the Maximum dropdown right below the Candidates dropdown). Basically each time you select or mouse over an object for a few seconds that object is added to the Candidates list and considered for the next snapping operations - all the others are ignored. The oldest one from the list is removed every time you add a new one. Check this video tutorial for more info about them: Snapping: Candidates
    2. Enable Force Pixel Alignment to force transforms and movements to whole/integer values. Disable Move By Whole Pixels to prevent objects from keeping the decimal places when you move/transform them.
