  2. Hello all, can someone please offer advice as to which selection tool can cut the ariels shown in the attached image; I am trying to place them into another picture. I have had very little luck understanding channels so any help would be very welcome, thanks
  3. Hello all, can someone please offer advice on how to cut the TV ariels show in the attached picture and then place them in another image. I am finding it difficult to get an understanding of channels and the pen tools takes for ever. Any help would be very welcome, thanks

  5. Hello all, is there a plan to copy the PS facility of "Colour Lookup" in Affinity Photo or have I missed it? This would be a great help in colour grading composites. Thanks for any replies...
  6. I see to have lost a number of panels in Affinity photo etc over time so can you tell me how to reset the main workspace back to when its first loaded, thanks
  7. Hi all, can I ask one of the Affinity Photo experts a 'how to' question please. I am making up a composite image with a jigsaw patten overlay on top of a photo and my next move is holding me back. How can I cut out individual jigsaw pieces and move them to the side of the image whilst showing a table top background behind. The idea being that the image would show an incomplete puzzle with the pieces in small piles around the edge? Thanks for any help. norway and desk combined.afphoto
  8. Hello all, can anyone tell me if its possible to copy a command that's in PS? In PS you can click on 'warp' then "flag' and I am wondering if its in AF I am trying to create a film strip with out doing it free hand.. any ideas would be welcome. Thanks
  9. Thanks MEB, I am running photo on an iMac. Thanks for page showing the work in progress. Regards
  10. Is it possible to show the rule of thirds guide lines on each image you have open? After setting up the guides manager i can only see the lines on one of the three documents I have open. Is there a way to ensure each document shows the guide lines in Photo.
  11. Hi all, sorry to ask a dumb question but I seem to have lost my top tool bar in AP which gives access to 'help' etc all the time. Please tell me how to bring it back, Thanks
  12. Thanks GaryP. Well from someone who's "not an expert" thanks pretty comprehensive feedback; do you come from a Compositing background? As you can see I am just starting out on trying to teach myself Compositing and I have already given up trying to get to grip with PS and AF is proving a lot better to learn with. Learning from books is really no good so I look out for videos etc ( good old YouTube!) but I know there is a lot to learn. Thanks for your comments, I'll keep going.
  13. After viewing the excellent range of tutorials for Affinity Photo I started to think that maybe in addition it would be very useful to be able to attend training sessions. It seems to be the case that many up and coming pro photographers offer either field trips and or hands on training all using PS however, software companies don't seem to be involved. This may be a radical thought but as I can't see many offerings outside of the AF tutorials that maybe the AF software designers could start one or half day 'hands on' sessions on a road show basis. It could prove to be a 'trail blazing' idea and I for one would be at the front of the queue. Any thoughts?
  14. Enclosed (I think) is my first go at producing a composite using AF. It's a common subject I know but I tried to change it arounnd a little. Comment would be good and any feedback for improvements welcome. Thanks all.

  16. Thanks for all your comments, I have just tried using the 'Perspective' tool and, while its a bit of a tool to get to grips with, I have been able to adjust the text depth from front to back. Thanks again all.
  17. Yes, I am using Photo but have got round to using the warp tool yet, looks like more learning needs to be done. Thanks
