Re adjusting gradients
It123 replied to It123's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Me again, I've added a new fill layer and applied an adjustable gradient to it, great. However, if I want to add a second adjustable gradient do I need to add a second fill layer on top of the stack with another gradient in it or do I have to do all selections and gradients on a single layer? What I want to do is add gradients to selections I've made from the background; I want to add different grads to each selection. Any ideas would be very welcome, thanks -
Re adjusting gradients

Thanks guys, its make you mad when you find out how simple it is. Thanks to all for your time -
Hi Ron P., thanks for your message. The problem i’ve given myself is that i’m trying to emulate the work of Joel Tjintjelaar and his ‘fine art photography’. Given that he has PS and I refuse to subscribe, i’m finding the transfer of his techniques (ie the use of layers to show selections) to AF challenging. My other problem is that I seem to have a mental blockage when it comes to grasping ‘channels’. I will take note of the videos and see if I can bypass the roadblock in my brain. Thanks for your time.

Ok so my 'work around is: 1) With the main image on screen, mentally divide up the image into a range of areas to be selected. 2) With a background copy in the layers, make the first selection , go to save selection to file, then deselect. 3) Continue with this process until all proposed areas have a selection taken and saved to the same folder. 4) When all the selections made, bring up each one individually onto a new pixel layer: make either a levels, curves or gradient etc adjustment. Name each pixel layer as you go. 5) Deselect after each area has been changed. 6) Continue until all areas blend together, form a composite layer at the to of the stack and make global adjustments if needed. 7 Add a blur to help blending

Hi everyone, anyone tell me how to show more than one selection in the layers panel at the same time. I'am trying to work with individual selections whilst showing all of them at the same time thus being able to flick between them. At present I'am only able to load one at a time and then it closes when I load another. Thanks for your help.

Thanks but can I ask this another way. Taking a picture of a house as an example, if I make a selection of the roof how can I add a gradient to the selection and then go back later and alter the gradient if needed. Then make a selection of the walls and do the same. I am looking to divide up an image into selections and work on them while they remain in the same image? Thanks for your help.

Hi all, can someone tell me if it’s possible to load extra adjustment panels into Photo that have been externally purchased. I am wondering if it possible to purchase and load a Photoshop panel called B&W Artisan Pro by Joel Tjintjelaar. He offers a panel that can be used to help produce his fine art photographs but he only shows it in PS, if anyone has tried please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Monochrome Filters?

Thanks for your time Gabriel, its just that I was looking at a video and it showed it in PS. Not to worry as I am going to stick with Black & White adjustments as the Channels method puts my brain in a spin. Thanks anyway -
Hello Affinity, is there any chance that the Affinity Photo workbook will be published in paperback for electronic form ? Thanks for any reply
