Gunny got a reaction from Aammppaa in Arranging windows - tile horizontally, etc.
I am quite surprised Affinity suite still does not provide a function for simple arranging windows with opened documents.
I don't use it very often but it's quite annoying to set up two or more windows by hand when other apps could do this for you with a single click.
The current "Float All" could be renamed to "Float All - Cascade" and a few more options should be added (Float All - Tile Horizontally, Float All - Tile Vertically, maybe Float All - Tile as Table, etc.)

Gunny reacted to imfastrnu2 in How to keep the arc of a curve when deleting nodes like Corel Draw
Hello. Has this been addressed yet (1.6.1.93)? I know it works fine on my Mac but doesn't seem to work on Windows. I did notice, however, that if I hold down the ALT-CTRL-Backspace keys, it kinda keeps the shape. At least it keeps the shape better than just hitting the backspace key.

Gunny reacted to Dan C in Info Panel / show document (or layer) size with active selection missing
Hi @Gunny
As above, I can confirm this is logged as a bug with our developers - when selecting a layer, using the 'Select All' function (ie canvas size) or creating a pixel selection, the size of this selection should be shown within the Info panel, but currently this isn't displayed, which is the issue logged to be fixed. I'll be sure to 'bump' this report with your post now.
I'll be sure to log this as an improvement with our developers - perhaps adding a checkbox to allow choice over coordinates outside of the canvas.
I hope this helps!

+1 from me too. Another feature I frankly just assumed would be there when I needed it. This is exactly the kind of omission that makes people say "well, I guess I just have to use Adobe Illustrator…"

Gunny got a reaction from CLC in What's with the tool-toggling?!
I've been using Affinity Photo for a few weeks and this is definitely the most annoying thing I had encountered. When I'm painting I switch tools using hotkeys a lot and I don't look at the tools panel at all so I often end up using other tool then I wanted. I had already removed all hotkey groups but this option is sorely missed.
I think that adding such option should not be that complicated...? =)

Gunny got a reaction from alice090404 in Please add ability to hotkey Smooth Curve
I really wonder why some actions do have shortcuts (Break curve, Join curve) and some don't (Smooth curve, Close curve)... 😧

Gunny reacted to Luis Canau in "Select Sampled Colour" through hot keys crashes Photo
I found this bug recently because, as the OP, I'm using Select Sampled Colour a lot. It crashes when using a shortcut both via the keyboard or by using a button on my Intuos Pro (I suppose it's the same). I was about to file a bug report when I find this thread with nearly two years describing the issue. I suppose it's not an issue that affects many people. Still, two years. I'm on version 1.10.0.1127. I suppose a new thread be started for the current version of Affinity Photo, since while it makes sense to archive issues with previous versions, current bugs shouldn't be archived until they are solved.

Gunny reacted to Frozen Death Knight in Locking layer contents
Man, how I miss locking transparency on a per layer basis. Sure, I can do this by locking any edits in the Alpha channel in the Channels panel, but locking the transparency on individual layers I have always found very convenient. I hope the devs add all of those locking options in Affinity someday.

Gunny reacted to Chris B in Control + left mouse click on a hidden layer creates an empty selection
Hey Gunny,
I'll pass this to the developers - thank you.

Gunny got a reaction from Chris B in Control + left mouse click on a hidden layer creates an empty selection
Control + left mouse click on a small preview of a layer in Layers palette usually creates a selection based on alpha channel of the layer.
However, it creates an empty selection when the layer is hidden/disabled.
I suppose it's just a shortcut to something like "Composite Alpha - Load to pixel selection" (it does similar thing) but I don't think anyone would like to get an empty selection just because the layer is currently hidden so it feels like a bug. Please change this behaviour.

Gunny reacted to marmil in Please add ability to hotkey Smooth Curve
I was trying to add a hotkey to Smooth Curve, but can not find it listed in the Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts area. Can this please be added?
This button...
Also, it would be nice to be able to hotkey Close Curve and Reverse Curve too.
Thank you

Gunny got a reaction from chessboard in Editable Macro Steps
It seems you can disable steps that you don't need but it's still very crude. I often forget something while recording longer macros (20+ steps) and I have to record them several times to get it right. Some more editing options would be very useful (i.e. deleting steps and changing their order - now you can add new steps only at the end of the macro).

Hallelujah! 😃
It even works correctly with the same line weight and different pressure profile.
Thanks!

Gunny got a reaction from Jowday in Request: Numeric values in Curves adjustment
It's not about comparing the layout of dialogs. It's about usability. The purpose determines the shape of every tool. A hammer is better at driving nails than a rock but the hammer must be of the right size and its handle must be of the appropriate length. Adobe just has been producing "hammers" for some time and they got pretty close to the ideal shape.

Gunny got a reaction from loukash in Request: Numeric values in Curves adjustment
Unfortunately the Curves dialog still misses any information about the numeric value of the selected point (input value / output value). It's really hard to set the points to their exact positions without seeing the numbers. =(
(I found similar request from 2016 in "Older Feedback" so it seems it's been abandoned.)

Gunny reacted to Sean P in Bug in 1.9.0.891 - timelapse video size
Hi Gunny,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Things are getting very hectic!
I've reproduced this and will get it passed over to development.
Thanks for letting us know.

Hi Gunny,
Thanks for letting us know - that checkbox shouldn't be visible just yet. I've passed it over to development to get it hidden in the meantime.

There is a check box "Include undo/redo steps" in the dialog but it's greyed out so I'm not sure how is it supposed to work.

Wonderful - thanks for that - I've reproduced here and will get it passed on to development - looks like a simple screen redraw!

Gunny got a reaction from affinityfan in Clip a layer with a group
As far as I can tell there is still no way how to clip a layer with a group of objects..?
That's rather strange considering that other similar options works:
- clipping a group with a single object
- masking a group with a single object
- masking a single object with a group
I suppose the fastest workaround is to create a copy of the group and use it for masking but I don't think it's a desirable solution because it increases number of objects in document and you have to take care of them while editing the primary group.
