Ah, that's wonderful!  The programs themselves are great examples of what good software ought to be.  But the developers are even better examples of what we wish all developers/programmers were!  This team is the most responsive to user needs/wants that I have ever encountered in decades of computer use.  But I shouldn't gush, should I?  :)

This is already available in the Beta version.  It will be added to the next App Store release.

it's been a while since i was here.. and man, have i got to know Afinity Designer by now..
 
simply put, i love it. its been in my professional workflow for a long while now, and i'm having a blast with it..
 
can't wait for the new stable version to come out..

Here's a illustration i did for us at ETL, to be printed on tshirts.. the print studio wanted something crazy to test out their brand new digital printer, so i rose to the task :)
This "is" Belgrade, Serbia..
(done in a very short amount of time, and will be revisited to boost the level of detail a lot..

I've been trying to do the drag and drop and re-arranging, but it doesn't work for me. And the only way I can add a color is picking a color and then hitting the paint palette icon. And deleting swatches, I need to do one by one, using right click delete—can't select multiple ones and just hit the trash or right-click either.
 
Also I can't see to see a few palettes at once. 

This has already been implemented in the beta. :)

Any chance anyone else has invites to spare? If so I would love one!! Here's a shot -- made with Affinity Designer, needless to say :) It's our company logo in a snow scene, which I made for custom stamps that we'll use when we mail out our holiday card to customers and friends this year.

Geez, the snapping of the crop tool to guides and image margins is fantastic! Thanks two tons for this feature! Now just shrink the code (file size) and I'll kick my other app (not PS, but PL).

Ah, now that's interesting... I'll try to see if there's a fault in the logic that's somehow letting this happen... I'd tried and tried to make this go wrong previously and couldn't get it to happen, but didn't realise you were hitting Cmd+Z periodically... 'Z' single character press is obviously the shortcut key for Zoom Tool, so it makes sense if somehow we think we're receiving the key without the Cmd modifier being down? It's worth another look! :) 

Original dimensions: 55x30cm in 300dpi.
Even with many pixel layers it was still ok on my macbook air… Some wheels from times to times but I was really amazed about how fast is this software :)

AD and AP need advanced selection methods for items like PS/AI have. Ex: Select by same fill, same appearance, same font etc. + some quick way to navigate to the selected item in the layers panel. 
 
More shortcuts or customisable ones?
 
Both apps are getting better and better but the attention to the small details is what is very important to power users.

Hey guys, not sure this has been requested already, but here goes.
 
I often find myself having a workflow that has me moving from one document to the next. Where new documents are created based on parts of a previous file. What I'm really missing is the opportunity to create a new document based on the dimensions of the content I have on my clipboard.
 
So it would work as follows:
- Select part from document 1 with 800x600 dimension
- Hit Cmd+N for new document with 800 x 600 dimension
- Paste content of clipboard centered in new document
 
Another thing that I find myself looking for regularly (kind of in the same process) is an option to trim the canvas to the content. Preferably with a adjustable margin, or auto-margin.
 
Workflow:
- Canvas is 1200x1200
- Layers cover 800x600
- Select the option Trim Canvas
- Canvas is trimmed (this doesn't have to be pixels obviously)
 
And I finally I would really like to see some form of vector pattern creation tooling, including support for illustrator patterns.
 
I often have random shapes I want to fill with a vector based pattern. But it really takes a lot of time at the moment to fill in everything manually. Especially when you have spacing issues and repeating stuff to worry about.

Not 100% done, but this is a portion of a new art piece done by commission for an upcoming card game. All painting done in Affinity Photo Beta. So far it's been fantastic with few hiccups. The new beta does seem a bit friendlier to my Wacom as well. :)

Looks nice!  May I be nosy and ask which card game it is?  I love playing Euro board games and I am equally fond of innovative card games . . .  I'd enjoy looking up the game at boardgamegeek.com.
 
I love the lighting on this in particular and the nice textures, and there's a nice balance between warm and cool receding colors.   If I had a critique, it might be that the shoulders seem a little too wide, especially in regards to the left part of his waist, which narrows quite a bit?  Widening out the jacket would probably do the trick.  This may just be my eyes messing with me because I can't see the full image on my small screen without scrolling down, though.

looking for the shape, colors, story... plan on making this full detail, with backstory etc... want this to be a series, lots of ships, different characteristics, classes etc ... :)

My next personal challenge (to learn AD) was to recreate a sports car. The Lamborghini Aventador is just so beautiful, so it had to be that one!
 
All work is done in Draw Persona, no images added or "pixels" used.
Really miss possibility to curve the gradient line, but I think I managed to find ways around it, where I needed soft surfaces :-) .
Used a couple of images as reference.

Amazing things can be done with AD, I just love it more and more. Having so much fun, just creating, not having the software being a limiting factor!
