  1. Simply amazing—fantastic, fantastic work guys. I've just been playing with it for a few minutes so I haven't run into any bugs yet, but by appearances you've already solved problems that I haven't seen Sketch address after years of requests. Paragraph styles + symbols + constraints is an absolute Godsend for UI design. If you guys can form some kind of integration with the likes of Zeplin, I'd never have to leave. :) Think that could ever be a possibility? Seriously, guys, this is almost a shameful amount of goodness to sell for a mere $50. :)
  2. I believe the Export Persona is getting some extra love in the 1.5 release, but I wondered does part of that involve improvements in slice snapping? One thing that is the most time-consuming for me in exporting UI elements/images is when switching over to the Export Persona, almost always the default slice adds a couple of extra pixels to one side of an object because (even with pixel snapping turned on), the parent artboard doesn't always seem to align to a whole pixel. So I have to nudge the parent artboard around until it it better aligns with the pixel grid then adjust the slice accordingly.
  3. Delayed reaction—haven't gotten error logs so far I don't believe. To me the more difficult thing has not been the crashes but the rasterizing of content pasted into Photo from Designer—I'll watch to see if I can see a pattern.
  4. I haven't found myself needing to jump back and forth between Designer and Photo too much, but I have been recently while mocking up some UI designs on devices, making use of vector tools in Designer then warping screens in Photo to mask before exporting. It could be something included in my design (a few mockup elements opened from PSD files), but I've been getting some pretty consistent freezes and crashes copying and pasting between the apps, such as pasting a warped and rasterized screenshot back into Designer. I've also noticed when creating some vector objects in Designer then attempting to paste and tweak them in Photo, they're almost always being rasterized now. Is that default now, or is there a way to turn that off?
  5. Actually based on the speed with which some competitors have been working on similar features, this is actually really impressive. Good work, guys.
  6. Super excited about the new beta news! The UI-focused features look fantastic. On the Magic Mouse panning issue, since it was mentioned—I find a Wacom great for drawing and painting, but not precise enough for vector work—I picked up an Amazon basics wireless mouse for the latter and I've noticed all panning issues are gone, and the mouse is much more comfy anyway. :)
  7. Allow me to be obnoxious and throw in a suggestion based on another tool that has a jewel for its logo (*cough*), but one thing I would love to see added in Designer 1.5 is adding or allowing for a shortcut for renaming the current layer. I've found that to be a tremendous speed boost. Or am I missing a way to do this already? Another borrowed idea (from Ps as well) that would add to a speedier workflow would be adding a layer search/sort option and perhaps auto-moving/expanding of layers while making selections (obviously requiring some kind of drill-down).
  8. Disregard a mistaken post and instead insert my new beta happiness. :)
  9. So I found myself wanting to come up with a basic stipple brush, of a more vector-style and less painterly variety. Going for that more retro-modern shading look inside of vectors that's quite popular these days. Pretty basic, but I think this is what I was going for! Works best sticking to applying with straight paths, no vector handles. The nice thing shading this way is you can vary the opacity and get quite a nice buildup on top of gradients. I threw together this trippy abstract to give them a go. :) Edit: Sorry, this post seems to have gotten mysteriously duplicated, and the attachment isn't showing up here consistently. 10. Sorry, duplicate post somehow—not sure how that happened.  Admins may delete. :) Search by same title for the other post. :)
  11. A long gap between my last post on this, but Steamcourt is finally wrapped up and was successfully funded on Kickstarter! In the end, we reached enough support to hit some stretch goals and add additional characters. We ended up with twelve characters total, and the reception overall has been really good. All art finished in Affinity Photo, with a few vector support elements done in Designer. Brushes almost exclusively were from the excellent Daub bristle set. Affinity was a joy to use! Find out more on the final game and see more at SteamCourt.com. :)
  12. Ah, didn't catch that! I was thinking I was running the most recent beta. Yes, the switch to artboard loss is a lower-priority edge case imho. On a side, UI-kinda note, are you guys planning on doing an API for scripting/add-ons by third party apps or devs at any point?
  13. Any chance there's been an update/fix on guides moving with their assigned artboard? My UI work is quite hampered at the moment from that still. :(
  14. One other issue I've been having is when Cmd + Dragging over a variety of objects to group them (or re-group them—in some cases certain items may be in an existing group and other items aren't, and I'd like to instead put them all into a new group, the position of the various elements almost always moves around when I hit "Group" rather than staying in place. The only exception is when I Cut and Paste all of the layers, then group them—then they stay in place.
  15. One more issue with stroke withs, when I Copy then Shift + Cmd + V to paste Style, recently often it makes the applied stroke go to 0 pt and disappear. I then have to fish for the invisible stroke and reapply the proper width.
  16. Sorry, accidentally duplicated my post from earlier. :) Edit: an additional issue I've been having is at random times, I'm unable to click and drag layers and groups in the Layers panel to reorganize/nest them. I'm able to copy and paste layers/groups around to create structure, but not click and drag. Rebooting the app seems to fix the problem.
  17. I'm still having a serious snapping issue in Export persona, similar to what's documented here: https://www.dropbox.com/home/Affinity?preview=1.4-snapping-issues-grid.mov I'm noticing a couple of things: before, I think when Snap to Grid and "Move by whole pixels" was turned off (at least when Opt-dragging) I was able to precisely line up slices and override the grid. Now it seems no matter what I do, even with snapping completely turned off I can't move export slices more precisely to make sure they line up with an artboard area. Perhaps it's how I began laying out the artboards, but when experiencing this problem if I turned off "Force Pixel Alignment" and "Move by Whole Pixels," went back to the Draw persona, bumped the artboard around a little bit, then went back to the Export persona, the slice then seemed to line up on its own. Sometimes this took a few tries, randomly bumping things around to get slices to line up. Pretty time-consuming issue for me, so please check on it if you can. :)
  18. Edit: my first impression was wrong, seems guides still aren't locked/moving with artboards. :/ That, and add the ability to copy/paste or duplicate guides and I'm all set. :)
  19. A smaller issue, but in this recent beta I'm still getting a consistent bug where artboard titles randomly turn into black/blue/other square instead of text.
  20. Clipped to Canvas worked for me, but it changed the background to a somewhat strange purplish hue.
