Thanks for the input on the colors. And you are correct, in the bright version there might be to little contrast. Also thanks for showing me what and how you think is better! I do appreciate it! And please don't worry about correcting me as I do post my maps to get corrected. I want to get better :-)

Both versions look good, but to my eyes some of the routes don't stand out as clearly as usual. Maybe giving more depth to the colours of routes 3 and 5?
    Something like this perhaps?

However, I hesitate to comment negatively in any way. Your colour scheme may well have a specific reference, and certainly your work is always stylish.
(Please excuse me adapting your image above; I just thought it would be the most concise way of showing what I meant. I am very aware it could be seen as me arrogantly "correcting" your work. That really would be a hideous intrusion on your thread and is not my intention at all. If I've offended, just tell me and I'll delete this post immediately).

The compound object* show which objects to add or substract to the original ring (in the same order, preferably).

Next, you adjust the nodes and curves:

    * In this case, we can't use a compound as final object since we can't have different colours in a compound object.
    Now, we can either:
Cut to pieces the G shape and colour the parts (v2 in my file) add shapes of different colours inside the G shape (v1) For cutting the pieces (v2):
I draw the shape I need I select the G and this shape and I use "divide": I end up with 4 shapes (coloured now: yellow, brown, tan and pink) I delete the un-needed pink one
…and need to divide again the bottom of the G to have the 4 final parts of the logo.

Or you can use the pen to draw shapes, colour them and put them inside the G like in the v1 example of my file.

    Hey you all :-)
I do love making transit maps and diagrams for fun in my spare.
This time a super quick “3.5 hrs evening while watching TV” project show the trams and trains in Zwickau, Germany.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did when making it.
Any feedback is of course appreciated and welcome.

This image, for a bit of mild amusement, is essentially a fake. I found an old picture of some young women on a beach which in its original state was sepia toned. After three head-swap operations (you figure it out - it's not hard) and a bit of fine trimming, I had three of my favourite yesteryear comedy actresses in the frame. So to take it even further I thought I would try to recolour the whole image using mask layers with the appropriate colours. I replaced the sky because it didn't look that good. I had no idea what colour the swim suits should be so I went for the 'washed out' look as best I could. Once all that was done I put the final image through a filter to produce the desired result, I then placed it on top of a serated edged card. I then stressed the edges a bit in an attempt to make it look worn.
Anyway, enough said. I hope I've produced something that appears authentic even if it's not.

    Hi,
I've recently switched over from Adobe Flash to Affinity D. And I'm really digging the whole experience so far . Before doing iso stuff in Fash was a real chore.
But with AD's speedy zooms and new isometric tool it's so much easier and faster (plus all the lines are clean!). Here's a few icons I've been working on in case anyone might be interested.
    Cheers,
    Rob.

    Steps...
Here's the macro you wanted. I named it "Dave's  Cartoon Effect" in order to give credit to Dave Straker who, after all, came up with the process. The only thing I changed was to set the blend mode of both the inverted outline pixel layer and the live Gaussian Blur layer to Color Burn. I also set the default blur to 0.5 pixels, as this was a bit more to my own liking. As you'll see, though, it is user-customizable. I didn't put in a step to alter the opacity, but clearly you can do that after the fact.
Note that I've made this an importable macros category, and not a single macro. When imported (through the Library) this will become a new category with a single macro in it. This will also let the macro be imported into the iPad version, if you want.

That's a sane start but there are other variables that could complicate the situation, such as what you've changed along the way in the native APh files, both intentionally and "randomly" attempting to solve the problem.
If you want to try setting the export profile to sRGB first and testing your satisfaction with the result, that's a good first step. If subsequent steps are needed, you'll be best served by posting the afphoto file(s) here so forum denizens have an opportunity to look a little more deeply into what your current state of affairs is.

Hi, Sorry only saw your response now as well
I will certainly have to have a look at what the problem is exactly, and as you said removing the fonts and seeing what happens.  Just on a side note. I have downloaded and am now using the new Beta that was released and it works perfectly. Loads up in less than a minute, no lag when editing. I am not sure why the other program is acting up. I have Illustrator as well, and it loads in less than a minute and works perfectly. So did the AD Beta prior to the one just released.
At least I have a usable program again so I'm happy
Thank you so much for patience and assistance in this regard. I really do appreciate it and if I can return the favor one day I certainly will!
    Take care.

    Just spotted your reply, Jyscal...
Well, 'KNOW'ing things are ok on any Windows machine isn't all that easily reckoned, so patience is probably in order.
I was looking above to see who else might have offered tips, and wonder if you've tried as @Callum from Affinity suggested, _removing_ those extra fonts you recently added, all of them? You might well be surprised at the result...or yes, not.
Also, you might look at the size of the user community, and realize your experience isn't what very many are seeing, which is a way of knowing matters can be more positive.
Now, these Affinity apps have at times been slow on font loading when in much earlier betas, but I just cold-started the latest released Design, with hundreds of fonts, and it was up in about 20 seconds. This is on a reasonably fast laptop, probably most importantly to say having an SSD. InDesign, a comparable program to Publish and this set in general, took a little over half that.
But also...here's a substantiation for the way I'm telling you this story...
Actually, both these times, especially InDesign's which was much slower, are definitely faster than I have been experiencing, for some interval.
And what is different is that I had a big upset on the machine last week, due to a bogus Microsoft update of Windows, and in concert with some very sharp depth-level support people you can actually reach there (in India...!) , with enough persistence in such cases, in essence the entire Windows 10 operating system got cleared and reinstalled, along with a number of necessary adjustments. Yes, this can be done, and it's better than what they used to tell you, which was just to start from scratch and rebuild the machine in toto. The new way, your apps and files stay undisturbed...and actually did, including some with dire copy protection.
I am not suggesting you do such a thing, please be confident. I am just noting that on  my own would have to admit somewhat expertly maintained machine, which I had felt was as clean as experience could say, it obviously wasn't, just in the ways we are aware Windows always has been able to fall apart, invisibly, crumbling from within.
What I would do, is try the step of taking out all those new fonts. If that doesn't clear the problem adequately, the font manager solution I proposed will allow you to slim down to just what you need, which should get you through, and may even help see where there may be a corrupt font install.  Those are very, very well known to be able to clobber any particular software -- and yes, not necessarily _every_ software.
If you find the bad one, you could even send it to Affinity, so they could add some additional bullet-proofing for its problems.
Hoping this with above will help you, and anyone else who hits such a frustration...
    Clive

@Jyscal, answer is possibly get and use a font manager.
    - this way you don't have to hve all fonts loaded all the time
    - you can arrange them in (overlapping if you like) groups, according to task
    - you can list favorites
    - more complete ones have analyzers for duplicates and font problems, which will help aoid slowness and possible app crashes

Which are good? Well, I haven't really favored most; they tend to stall in contemporary development, or be awkward. The one I liked best, NexusFont , was nicely presented, but the developer moved on.
There are  the expensive ones...most of the rest have free not-very-limited tryouts so you can see. The one with an endless-draining subscription has, of course, a gaming-you very limited tryout.

    - MainType may have some balance of awkwardness and features; it will ding you for paying every time; the trick to shortcut  its button-hopper is to say you'll pay, then cancel, until you do choose to
    - Typograf might be worth a look, if it's quite opinionated
    - if an office pays, one of the higher priced might be worth their hundred Euros
    - the best I expect is to ask your better printer or layout/design pals, see  what they prefer...
good fortune - be the foxy hunter (since this forum knew there was an emoji -- and curtly refused it)

Not embarrasing at alI ( I feel myself like an idiot most of the time ) I created those shapes in Sketch, which I am more familiar than AD . You can round every point of your shape, then substract another shape. You have to be very precise but it works well
Having said that I feel like an idiot, this is the proof: What did I do wrong, following FirstDefence solution ?

    Hey :-)
I do transit maps and diagrams for fun in my spare time - if you want to know a little bit more about me just follow this link.
This was a rather quick design started on a Tuesday afternoon and was finished due to breaks and beers on Thursday evening at the End of June. Posted it on Instagram and Twitter back then.
Here it is - my unofficial transitdiagram of the tramway (and BRT line) network of Strasbourg in France.
Actually I have done two versions:
one showing the 2019 situation (plus two planned stations on the D line) and the other one showing also the near future expansions included (two more stations on the D line, extensions of the A and F lines).

    Have a nice week!
And of course: Feedback is always welcome and appreciated.
    Chris
