Gnobelix reacted to sansnom in Live Filters in Affinity Designer (Asset)
🇬🇧 Here is a rework of the Asset, with new icons and the most basic Live Filter integration possible.
Unfortunately, I still had to create subgroups in order to guarantee the largest possible thumbnail (the rendering of Affinity Designer on these thumbnails was difficult for me to understand because it seemed so random to me...).
Good reception and if you find any errors, please share them with the community, I will correct them. But, I'm almost certain that Serif, in his great goodness, will very soon integrate these Live Filters into AD like he did in AP... and who knows, maybe one day, in macOS, we will have the functionality QuickLook with very large and beautiful thumbnails!…
NB: Serif could also better qualify these .afsssets files with a personalized icon rather than a generic file icon!…

    @MikeW,
    Thanks for the reply.
I found a solution to my problem.
    The solution:
Enter the following formula in Excel.
    =IF(NUMBER(A3:A12);SUM(A3:A12);"")
and not instead of the total
I don't know if the formula is translated correctly into English.
    The German formula is (=IF(ANZAHL(A3:A12);SUMME(A3:A12);"")

No, there's no function to hide zeros...
A couple things. One is just to F/R in Excel.
Another is to treat the zeros as blank text using the formula that sums the values. Something like:
    =""&VLOOKUP(A3,C:D,2,FALSE)
Adjust as needed for your sum formula. The important bit are the empty quotation marks and the ampersand at the beginning of the formula. I haven't tested against APub.
A note. While Excel can hide zeros, they are still there. Which is why APub is displaying them.

Gnobelix reacted to Ash in Create and place password protected PDFs
    Apps: All
    Platforms: macOS, Windows and iPad
All Affinity apps now allow you to both create and place password protected PDFs.
    Create
In the advanced export options for PDF files you will see two new options:
    1. Require password to open. If you set a password here that means anyone who tries to open that PDF will be prompted to give this password before they can open it.
    2. Permissions password. Here you can further protect the PDF with options for restricting printing, modification, editing and copying with a secondary password.
You will also see the type of encryption being used for the file in question. This is based on the PDF compatibility being used in Export. PDF 1.6 & 1.7 both use AES-128, PDF 2.0 uses AES-256. Password protection is not available with PDF 1.4, 1.5 or PDF/X file compatibility.

Passwords can be saved with the document preset, so for example you could have a preset of “Company Internal PDF” which both specifies the export settings, DPI, etc. you want for that type of document, but also the password settings.
    Place
Previously you could not place password protected PDFs in Affinity. Now you can - when you attempt to place the PDF you will get a prompt asking you for the password for the document you are attempting to place.

You are doing everything right. This is a message from the master page because the data source is deleted after the data merge. If you want to make sure, add the data source again and the message will disappear.

Gnobelix got a reaction from EmT in Problems with the dictionary.
    Hello EMT,
I updated the apps on my laptop to version 1742.
There, I did not have the problem described above.
What I noticed, in the settings, the Folder for the Dictionary
    is specified as follows, C:\Program Data\Affinity\Common\2.0 (Beta)Dictionary.
This Folder is empty, no Files in the Folder.
I wonder in which folder the dictionary is stored.

    Hello Chris,
I don't have the problem with all photos, but with some.
I'm not sure, whether the type of image matters.
If there is a download link, I can make the said file available.

Gnobelix reacted to Hangman in Nikon NEF (RAW Files) Cannot open
@Herb287, okay, I've repaired the corrupt RAW file for you so you should now be able to open it in Photo... Basically, "downloading NEF images from 'newer' Nikon cameras with Nikon Transfer 1 or older versions of ViewNX 2 (and probably Capture NX 2) can result in corrupted NEF images that can no longer be opened" and I suspect this is what has happened here as you mentioned that all RAW files from your D7100 camera were transferred via Nikon Capture Software...

I think your problem is related to scaling.
Go to "Scaling" and select "100%" or play around with the settings.

    @Gnobelix Thanks a lot 🙂
You are a Star, Master of the Anfinity universe! It works, I can manually correct the plugins list. I have already found a problem with file permissions. AP, I don't know why yet, but it only has the ability to read this file. Either way, that's not a problem with this topic.
Once again, thank you very much for the quick and perfect help.

But it could also be because of my knowledge of English.
