When setting a sub brush texture, it will show in preview, but does not actually paint.
I have no problems with the brush, neither when painting nor when editing the sub-brush.

Welcome to the Forum @Stevie H,
Windows ink should be set in the tablet driver. In the Affinity application,
the low precision setting for graphics tablets should be activated in the Settings, Tools.
Maybe it helps. With these settings I have no problem with pen input.

Again, did you try using the Select menu as (I think) the OP was doing? That doesn't work for me.
Did that ever work? I do not mean.
The one shown above is an option, a way to activate the desired layers via macro.
Affinity's macro functions have never been a highlight (e.g. it lacks the ability to edit a macro)

No, there's no function to hide zeros...
A couple things. One is just to F/R in Excel.
Another is to treat the zeros as blank text using the formula that sums the values. Something like:
=""&VLOOKUP(A3,C:D,2,FALSE)
Adjust as needed for your sum formula. The important bit are the empty quotation marks and the ampersand at the beginning of the formula. I haven't tested against APub.
A note. While Excel can hide zeros, they are still there. Which is why APub is displaying them.
Thanks for the reply.
I found a solution to my problem.
The solution:
Enter the following formula in Excel.
=IF(NUMBER(A3:A12);SUM(A3:A12);"")
and not instead of the totalI don't know if the formula is translated correctly into English.
The German formula is (=IF(ANZAHL(A3:A12);SUMME(A3:A12);"")Cheers

Hello everyone,
I have a question about data merging in Publisher.
I have created an Excel sheet where number of pieces, weights, etc., are entered. At the end of the columns, there is a formula for summing up, providing, for example, the total quantity. In columns with no values, Excel typically outputs a sum of zero, which can be hidden.
However, in Publisher, the hidden values are displayed as zeros.
My question is: is there a way in the Publisher to hide these zero values? Thanks in advance.

No, I tried that before I last posted. The Pixel layer needs to be at the top of the Layer stack, if the OP is using a blank pixel layer for removing items.
Thanks for the explanation.

I think the layer (pexels-lumn-1028600) needs to be rasterized, then Inpainting should work.

Hello,

Hello @BP101782,
In fact, it looks very different.
My first thought, check the color profiles. The message issued was only output in V2 for me. Maybe Serif employees have an explanation.

Hello @BP101782,
welcome to this forum.
Have you tried the Affinity 2 trial in the past?
That would explain the message, "The file contains functionality from a later version of Affinity."
Normally, files from V1 are opened in V2 as a copy and displayed correctly. It is impossible to determine from a distance why the file is not opening correctly.
Can you please upload a sample file of V1 with a detailed description of what the difference is between V1 and V2?

Waited a long time, but now it's here, the spiral tool.👍👍
Initial tests with the new tool are promising. Thanks to the Serif team.

No problems here, like with @Return on Windows 11 with a Nvidia graphics card GTX 1050 TI. SO not a particularly powerful graphics card.
Is the graphics driver up to date?Cheers

I have, on Windows 11 merge your data, all without any problems. (Sheet: YearA-Pentecost)Cheers

I've have this weird bug when doing a data merge in V2.2.
If I try importing data from an XLS with a date, instead of displaying for example, 10/13/2023, it displays one day behind 10/12/2023. When I import the same file saved as a CSV, the data imports fine.
I'm on PC Windows 10 22H2 with the full Affinity Suite 2.2. I have experienced this bug in all prior versions of Affinity. I'll continue to used CSV instead of XLS but it's strange that the data won't merge correctly unless I use a CSV.
Hello @GatoL0c0,
Welcome to this forum.
I had a similar problem, I formatted the date in Excel user defined.
DD.MM.YYYY (in German TT.MM.JJJJ)
I hope it helps.

Hi
Designer 2.2, Win10
I have a PNG dragged into designer which has transparency.
Using the Vector brush tool (I think!), I could paint a solid colour in selected transparent areas and the brush wouldn't touch the non-transparent areas. 2 hours ago. Now I can't do it again(!)
I *think* it was the vector brush tool. It is the same PNG image with transparency.
There must be an option I have inadvertantly selected/deslected or maybe it was a different tool (don't think so)
#goingmad
any help please, thanks
Pete
Hello Pete,
I think you need to set the vector brush to the overlay blend mode.

You are doing everything right. This is a message from the master page because the data source is deleted after the data merge. If you want to make sure, add the data source again and the message will disappear.
Many Thanks for the explanation.

Can you attach the excel file as well as Publisher (only example, not original)? Or at least show screenshots with layers.
Hello into,
unfortunately, I only have the file for Publisher Beta left, I deleted the others a little prematurely. The Excel file only has fantasy names, but the same structure as the original file.

Hello everyone,
I have a question about Affinity Publisher.
I'm using a database, from which some data is exported to Excel.
The Excel table is used for data merging in Publisher.
Certain data should only be output once, for example,
the year, the number of cards, etc. Other data such as name,
first name, place of residence, etc., will be output as a list on the pages.
I've designed the layout on the master page. Fields that are to be output only once are also on the master page,
while all other data will be output on the pages. In the preview, everything looks as desired.
However, when I try to print or export the file,
then I receive the following warning messages.
No Data Sours covers the Page where Field "Jahr" is used.
What am I doing wrong?
If I ignore the warning messages, everything is output as expected.Cheers

herzlich, sabrina
Hallo Sabrina,
willkommen in diesem Forum.
Cheers

Hi everyone,
Same here, as described by @Dennison.
With a difference, this corrects not itself when the file is closed and re-opened.Cheers

Sorry, that was a bit hasty of me. The Texture in the Sub-Brush cannot be recognized. Is the texture a PNG File?
