StevenS got a reaction from Mark Oehlschlager in Black Friday sale - purchase for someone else
Hi Islander,
I can arrange for you to place an order for a redemption code which you can then pass on to allow the recipient to create their own account and receive the app through our site.
If this is something you would like to do, please send an email letting us know your location and your preferred payment method to affinity@serif.com. (we offer PayPal, Credit/Debit card or bank transfer)

I think this would be something better discussed via email rather than a public forum (affinity@serif.com)

StevenS reacted to walt.farrell in Two different accounts / logins?
Just FYI, there was no requirement that you use the same email and password. You could have used different email addresses, or the same email but have different passwords, depending on how you want to manage your identities.

StevenS got a reaction from Alfred in Two different accounts / logins?
Hi @Heavy Chef,
Welcome to the Affinity forum.
Two separate accounts are indeed required. Not all Affinity users will have purchased through the Affinity Store as our apps are also sold through the Mac App Store and the Microsoft Store. To avoid any confusion of some users having an account by default of purchasing through our store and others not having an account, the forum is here as its own separate entity and users can choose whether or not they wish to create an account.

StevenS reacted to mac_heibu in Design and Photo from Mac App Store, Publisher directly
Simply: No you can‘t. If you could, Apple would have to transfer the user identity to Serif. I am happy, that Apple doesn‘t hand out user data to anybody else.

StevenS reacted to walt.farrell in Switch license from Affinity store to Windows store
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, Wayne.
From what we've seen, Serif currently doesn't allow that, and they have not shown any signs of considering it.
I've seen some advantages to purchasing directly from Serif. For one, it's easier to interface to the Affinity applications from other software that supports external editors. For another, you can downgrade to an earlier release of the program if you don't like the results after an upgrade to a newer release. It's also easier to install on additional computers used by family members who have different Windows Store login accounts. And it may be easier to get new updates if you move to a different part of the world, which uses a different Windows Store. But it's possible none of those is important to you.
But if you still want to switch, and if you purchased within the last 14 days, you could make use of Serif's 14-day money-back return policy, and repurchase from the Windows Store. If you qualify and want to do that, you can email affinityreturns@serif.com to begin the process.

StevenS reacted to emmrecs01 in How do I download my affinity to my new computer
@Jeannieg
Welcome to the Affinity forums.
I'm not a Mac owner but my understanding is that you log into your Mac App Store account, ensuring you use the same log-in details as you used for your original purchase, and you should find your Affinity app (which one, by the way?) listed and available to download and install. I seem to remember one suggestion made to other users who have experienced problems redownloading from both the Windows and Mac App Stores to try logging out and then logging back in if the needed app is not initially listed.

StevenS got a reaction from melior64 in Will be a free update from 1.9 to 2.0?
Hi Eloy,
Welcome to the Affinity forum, I will try my best to simplify this.
There is no limit to the number of updates that anyone would receive.
Any purchase from our site prior to us releasing 2.0 will receive all future 1.x updates for free, so in essence the sooner someone gets one of our apps, the more updates they will receive.
If you bought at 1.9 then you would get any 1.9.x updates free, before 2.0 was launched.
In summary, get any 1.x version and get all 1.x updates that follow. Version 2 is a new purchase for everyone with all 2.x updates included.

StevenS reacted to Alfred in One Licence on a Desktop and a Laptop
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Reiner.
Each licence covers multiple computers, as long as no one else is using the app for commercial purposes. So your licence for the Windows version allows you to install Affinity Photo on your new laptop (and your licence for the Mac version would allow you to install it on an iMac or another MacBook).
If you purchased from the Affinity Store, sign into your account to download the installer and retrieve your product key. If you purchased from the Microsoft Store, sign in using the Microsoft Account details that you used when making the purchase.

StevenS reacted to walt.farrell in Pre-purchase questions
For downloading to computers that use a different Windows Store account (e.g., family members' PCs) it will (I think) be easier to download/install on the additional PCs if the Serif products are purchased from Serif directly, rather than from Microsoft.
Also, if one wants to be able to revert to an earlier version of the product, that may not be possible unless one has purchased directly from Serif.
Finally, I do not know what the refund policies are with the Windows Store, but with purchases from the Serif Affinity store you have a 14-day, no questions asked, return policy that will give you a full refund on your purchase price.
Overall, I recommend buying directly from Serif.

@RodrigoVWB
Welcome to the Affinity forums.
There is no difference between the version sold on the Windows Store and that sold directly by Serif. If you purchase via the store, your installation is tied to your Store Account and no serial key is needed. Additional downloads (for other computers which you own/control) will also be possible from your store account. Updates will be downloadable from the store as they are made available by Serif and Microsoft.
If you purchase direct from Serif, you will be given a serial key for installation and you will automatically have a Serif Store Account, from which you can redownload your software if you ever need to, e.g. to install it on another computer which you own/control. Updates will arrive either "automatically" or via download from that store account.
As to costs of upgrades: all upgrades to version 1 are free. When version 2 is released, quite likely not for some years yet (based on the length of time - several years - since the first iteration of version 1 was released) it will be a paid upgrade but users will clearly have the option to not buy the upgrade is they do not wish to do so. Version 1 will continue to "work" for as long as the operating system allows it to, i.e. until Microsoft make some major change which renders version 1 of any Affinity app unusable.

@Mairead
Welcome to the Affinity forums, dedicated to the Affinity range of products from Serif.
PhotoPlus X2 is a very old version of software from the "legacy" range of Serif products. I'm unclear about what info you need to retrieve but I suggest you would be more likely to receive helpful answers if you post to the forum dedicated to those legacy products, Community Plus, here.

Hi Michael,
Welcome to the Affinity forum.
If you purchase through the App Store the free content can be claimed through the in-app welcome screen.

Welcome to the Affinity forums.
Each Affinity licence covers all machines of the same operating system owned and controlled by the licence holder. So, in your situation, one licence will cover you for both home and office.

StevenS reacted to walt.farrell in If purchased Mac version, is there a discount for Windows version?
Serif does not offer such discounts, except possibly to businesses making volume purchases. Individuals pay full price for both licenses.
However, there are often 20% off sales, such as the one that's going on right now.
