  1. Hi Thomaso I greatly appreciate your attention to my issue and thanks so much for figuring out what was going on. You were absolutely correct. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure how I feel about the outcome—I'm a bit conflicted. It looks as though if I were creating a book for print, I would work in the CMYK color space. But if I also wanted to repurpose the book for digital use, I would have to change the color space of the book to sRGB or RGB—which changes the look of any effects I've used in my design. Hmmmm... Please don't misunderstand me... I so very much want Publisher to be a success, however, these types of issues give me pause. Thanks again for your help. Best wishes, Chris
  2. I'm uploading the .afpub file, a sample PDF, the calligraphy graphic, a screen shot of my PDF setting and a down-sampled version of the background texture. I hope this helps. Thanks, Chris Page1a.pdf Fancy Scroll 1-gray.psd Screen Shot 2020-03-31 at 8.22.32 PM.pdf Page1-Only.afpub
  3. To Whom, I'm designing a small book and on the cover page I have placed a small calligraphy element (see attached). In my layout I have chosen to use the Vivid Light blending mode on this layer. As you can see, the calligraphy is a shade of brown in the design. The calligraphy graphic has been saved as a grayscale transparent PSD file. The PDF output does not include the blend mode set in Publisher and produces a black (original color) calligraphy mark. I have not tried saving the calligraphy graphic as a TIF, JPEG or PNG. Since PSD files are supported in Publisher, then there should be no need for an alternative graphic format. Thanks for your attention to this matter, Chris Martin (Idyguy)
  4. I'm a freelance graphic designer (35+ years) and ALL my clients want the finished product and all related files for archive as well. Also, if you work in a collaborative environment, it's sometimes necessary to pass along projects to another designer. Being able to easily package any project is a great advantage and time-saver. And as you stated, it's not impossible to hand-collect all the files in a particular project—it's just time-consuming. It seems to me that not being able to package a design is a glaring omission on the part of the developers. I have to wonder if the software developers have ever worked as graphic designers in the real world. Just my humble opinion...
  5. WOW! Here we are almost a year after this post and there is still no method for packaging a project. I simply cannot understand why this feature has not been implemented. As much as I dislike continuing to use InDesign, I guess I have no other choice until Publisher becomes a "real" application. Too bad.
  6. Yes, I am the only account with all administrator privileges. BTW: All my photos can be opened in Photoshop CC and Lightroom—or any other graphics application.

  8. My photos are stored on local drives, however, they are not stored in the Pictures or Documents folders. I'm running Yosemite 10.10.2.
  9. Hi Leigh. Thanks for your response. Your question isn't silly at all. Yes, I tried several images and nothing will open. However, they will open just fine in Photoshop CC. I can start a new document in Affinity, but can't seem to open anything.
  10. I just downloaded and installed Affinity. When trying to open a file, I receive the following message: /../../_W4A4007.jpg The file could not be opened because permission was denied. Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
