Kevin Martin reacted to Frozen Death Knight in My attempts at tackling Affinity Photo painting/drawing
Kept experimenting some more with AP today, using more layers as well as colouring. Still have some work to do on this painting until it is complete, but I am fairly content showing the current results.

Kevin Martin reacted to VectorVonDoom in 1966 Batmobile v2 (AD)
This is my other v2 drawing I've been working on. I did a side view a time back but quite liked the front view too, looks more aggressive. To start with I was just going to do the car as a studio shot but I thought try adding Batman and Robin. Then when I'd done that I thought I may as well add a background too. The background's pretty simple partly because there aren't too many decent quality pics. I also toned it down a bit as the batmobile blended in a bit too much otherwise. I'll go back over it in a few weeks, perhaps change some of the reflections and possibly darken the back end of the car but I'll see then.

Kevin Martin reacted to Bigby in (AP) New World
I've finally finished my latest composition. It was quite a challenge to create this mini planet along with all the elements on it. Lots of trial and error to see what fits and what not. However, I'm pleased with the final result.
Welcome to the New World and enjoy your stay.

Kevin Martin reacted to stokerg in Affinity Photo edit
Hi Everyone,
I'm not normally one to post in this section, mainly as the shots i take are just of painted walls (legal graffiti) so very little editing is done but thought i'd mix things up with some Affinity Photo stuff in this section.
I made the most of the bank holiday weekend and went out and about early morning. Also tested out a new NDX filter, only knowing the basics of what they do, i was clicking, then moving a stop and clicking again. This ended up with a lot of very DARK images. Anyway i was able to still make use of them and have attached the results in JPG for the forum and also the original RAW file. Love how the mist has been captured in the background which is what i was hoping for, need to work on skies next as i always seem to blow them out. Feel free to use the RAW image and have a play. I'm sure the more experienced photographers will spot any mistakes i've made, but i'm just getting to know my camera better and shooting on manual as much as possible any tips are welcome. I have a Nikon d3200 with kit lens (18-55mm).

Kevin Martin reacted to SalfingerAndrew in Silent Ocean - Campaign (2018)
Silent Ocean - Campaign (2018)
While studying at SAE for my Bachelor of Design, I got the change to work on a social issue campaign around noise pollution in the ocean with the goal to make 10 posters around the campaign and ended up making 12 posters, 10 badges, art display piece, and a website.
This project was amazing to work on allowing myself to break out of my "normal design style" and really allow me to just play around with mix design, merging vector, paper craft, images and 3D together to create something amazing
Made with:
Affinity Photo (Mac + iOS (iPad Pro)
Affinity Designer
Autodesk Maya (for 3D)

Kevin Martin reacted to RaphLuna in The Spirit Stone and the Spirit Demon Villian
The Beautiful yet Deadly Soul Stone.. looks like a Beautiful, Smooth, shiny stone. the pony is lured into holding it into his hoof. as he feels the luscious smoothness, and admires the dark deep colors . He is obsessed to keep it into his hoofs... As his hoof grip tightens, as to not let the stone go, his body starts to adsorb into the stone...
The Soul Stone starts to grow and morph into a demon like pony creature, a light orb, the soul of the pony, seen trying to get away, is quickly sucked back to the spirit demon like pony..
then the spirit demon awaken from his slumber fades off into the deep woods, looking for its next victim . The Soul Stone once it is picked up and consumes its first victim, it turns into a Spirit Demon...
This spirit demon lives off absorbing the body of its victims and consuming their souls, it has the power to shape shift and it lives among the ponies.., it has the power to possess objects and lure the victims mostly baby ponies and young ponies by possessing their favorite toys. it consumes only Unicorn Earth Pegasus and Alicorns ponies young, old, even expecting Mother's to be as well..
Being a demon he is very crafty, and know how to keep well in hiding.. and how to blend in..
Unlike the Dark Shadow creatures he is immune to the light.. He can go out at day or night..
They have no enemies however they compete with dragons for food, dragons eat ponies however spirit demons need ponies bodies and their souls to survive...
there is no known way to defeat a Spirit Demon, however the only way to stop him is to starve him back to his dormant state...when his time runs out to feed, move and live among the living , he is sucked back into the spirit stone there he stays dormant until another pony victim find the stone and is consumed by the stone and the Spirit demon is free to roam and feed...
Quick brief story very errie and dark.. Granted this Villain is perfect. For the story about Crystal Frost... Crystal Frost mother is an earth pony, and this misshapen creature stalks her to absorb her body and take her spirit.. he fails in his attempt to consume the expecting earth pony. in the past he took the lives of ponies even the ones that were pregnant, it snarles hissing at her, very hungry, not understand why it can not feed off this pony. Not knowing that her unborn baby half dragon, immune to the Spirit Demon, protects her mother from this dangerous deadly creature.. when the father Dragon Appears it sees the dark vile creature hissing and starling wanting too feed off his love, he attacks it and the creature backs off and slithers back into the woods. and fades. looking for another victim to feed off... Through this vile creature the tale of the pony snatchers is born. Not fully done however wanted to sow my WIP... And share the creepy tale of the Pony Snatcher Like creature...

Kevin Martin reacted to Ros in Cisco Systems presentations 2016-2018
Hi, everyone!
For the last 3 years I've been commissioned to design presentations for Cisco Systems general manager in Spain. I wasn't allowed to show it for a while, despite it being openly posted on their official YouTube channel (at least the speech). Now I can share some parts.
Hope you guys like it.
Have a great weekend.
EDIT: Some of the icons are from Shutterstock with little editing (the blue outline ones).

Kevin Martin reacted to VectorVonDoom in I Never Had To Say "I'm Batman" (AD)
I wasn't going to do another but I have as they seem popular, my weekend project. I picked a really horrible quality image, like someone took a 100x100 and enlarged it. But, for the most part, it turned out just about OK (that's all the time I had and would look better cropped, if I'd thought I'd probably got rid of the hands, something for next weekend). I've include the afdesign file so you can view it, expand it (there's more to the image), improve it, have a laugh or anything else. It's for personal use otherwise I'll take my normal 99.99% cut. You'll see quite a few messy snapping points but they don't show up on the export. You will need to duplicate the batman layer and add a .1px blur to get rid of the micro gaps before you do export.
That is his signature, I just live traced it in AI then added a gradient and some transparency.
The image I've attached just has some Color Efex Pro film grain added.
But if you want to do some low poly and also have AI then use that with live paint instead. You don't then need to create triangles very often just close shapes off so less errors, less cleaning up and generally quicker.

Kevin Martin reacted to Ros in Leonardo 100 % Done only using Affinity Design.
I love it. It has some Teen Titans flavour on it, but better.
Are the tribal details (like the bones and belt) from an existing storyline or are they your own idea? I've been a TMNT fan all my life, and it's been fun to see the different stylistic choices made through every iteration of the franchise.
They have gone a long way since issue #1
I still have it, since 1990. As a kid I was stunned by the style, the roughness of it. But I was even more stunned by the fact that all the turtles wear red bandanas.

Kevin Martin reacted to LyricsGirl in Inside Long Hall with lighting & golden wall decals
I am more drawn towards using Designer but will be spending more time later this year learning about Photo. One of my HUGE Designer / Photo add on packs which is my main production flow, requires me to need a photo editor, Despite being a long term user of another editor ( not PS!) which offers utilities not included in Photo, I find thta I can get what I am wanting in Photo without too much hassle. Let's say I am liking it alot..
So as my effort of showing off my creations here is one and I included the original image for comparison. Hope you like it.
I encourage all positive critiques!
