I am sure the app was in development a long time before it became available as a beta and we don't really know how long that was (although the AppStore advert said something about the app being in development for 5 years) although I think they went through the beta updates very quickly. But the app is still not really finished since the plugin functionality, which I consider to be a pretty basic part of any pixel editor, is still not really working. Still, as I have been saying, I am sure they will get it working. Still, after all is considered, AP has replaced Photoshop for me and the cost of the app is less than the money I have saved not being enrolled in Adobe's Photography Program. AP does not do everything Photoshop does, but it does everything in Photoshop that I used and has additional functionality that I never saw or used in PS.

I just purchased and installed 1.3.4 expecting to see the Location Panel but it does not show up as an option under View -> Studio and I can not find it anywhere in the UI. Can someone please tell me where it is? UPDATE: Found it. But why is it only active for raw images? If I want to browse through some processed jpgs I can not use AP to view the location of the images? I do not understand the restriction.

That explains what will happen once we have the new customer beta, but how will we get the first customer beta? That is, will the official release notify everyone that a new beta is available? Or will it be announced on this forum? Or some other way? I understand that we have to have the purchased version to get the new customer beta but it does not explain how we will find out about the first customer beta.

That is certainly my view. I had always assumed that the plugin functionality, at least for those plugins that are most popular (Topaz/Nik) would be fully working before the official release and I was very surprised to find out differently.

The last beta release (26369) was marked as a Gold Master which, I am sure, means that it was the version sent to Apple for sale in the App Store. That means that there should be no difference in UI or functionality between 26369 and the release version. That does not mean that there may not be frequent new releases after that and the developers have said that the beta program will continue after official release. In short, the official release should be identical to 26369 but there should be regular beta updates including new functionality, just as has been going on with the current betas.

12:30am? Well, I get up early in the morning, but not quite that early. I trust it will still be in the AppStore at something like 4 or 5 am. :)

That is odd. I just checked and it does not show up when I query for Affinity. Only Designer and something called AffinityDiagram.

So we don't need to re-file out outstanding bugs? They are still being worked on?

Just curious. When will the current beta (1.2.1.26369) expire? Will it still be valid after the official launch? And, if so, will it still yield links to download new betas? If not, how will we get new betas? Or will the official release yield links to new betas?

I have some of the same problem. New Links, like the one to this thread, seem to work but older ones give me: Sorry, we couldn't find that!

My bookmark no longer works and there is now no longer a bug or feature forum. I guess I understand why the feature is gone as we were warned it would be removed, but what happened to the bug forum?

Thank you for this post. This process is much easier and faster than using multiple layers. I have been using APB since the first release of the beta but I have not really tried using Live Filters as I did not see the benefit. Now I do. Thank you again.

I have not tried this in a while but I think I will see if it still happens to me with this latest release. Thanks for replying as I had forgotten about this issue.

Andy, I asked before but, since I have not seen any responding post, I assume the question went unnoticed and I am asking again. Is there any information about when you folks will be able to get to addressing the plugin issues for the most popular plugins (Topaz and Nik)? I know you will get to it but I don't know if it will be in the near future or further out than that. Is it something we should see shortly after launch? Or later this year? Or next year? Just asking.

I did not know exactly what you wanted to do, but it is not a surprise to me that you wanted the Perspective Tool. That is one of the tools I use the most and I almost never use the Transform Tool. Glad you were able to work out what you needed.

I think the layer needs to be unlocked. At least I have never been able to successfully transform a layer while it is locked and that is why I had so much trouble initially in getting the tool to work.

I apologize for any confusion. When I wrote "Transform tool" I really meant the move tool - the Arrow icon on the tool panel. For me, the necessary steps are: 1) Select the Move Tool, 2) Select the layer to be adjusted, 3) Unlock the layer If the layer you wish to work on is not visible you will, of course, have to make it visible. You should then see "dots" at each corner of the image as well as in the middle of the four sides and you can adjust, using them, as you wish. If this does not work for you I will take some screen shots to clarify. Sometimes my descriptions are too brief or unclear. Unfortunately when I try to be very clear my posts end up being pages long and then everyone loses interest since they cannot get through the whole thing. :(

Make sure the Transform Panel is visible (View -> Studio -> Transform). Select the layer you wish to work on and make sure it is not locked. Then select the Transform tool, click on the part of the image you want kept constant in the Transform panel and move the part of the image you wish to transform. Nothing will work if the layer is locked and, unfortunately, the Help information does not mention that.

Leigh: I know the plugin support is coming, and I can wait, but I was wondering if there was any tentative schedule as to when we could expect high profile plugins like Topaz and NIK to function properly. Not a hard-and-fast drop-dead date, but some kind of indication as to whether we are taking about 3 weeks or 3 months. Since launch is coming in 3 days it would be nice to know if we could expect normal plugin functionality in the near or far future.

Thank you. I will have to check that out as I have not used Effects on my images and, perhaps because of that, not seen the dialog box.

Layer -> Rasterize contains a series of dots (...) after the listing indicating that there is a dialog box that will open when the command is issued, however I don't believe I have ever seen this dialog box regardless of the adjustments and/or layers I have used. What adjustments are needed to open this dialog box? Thank you.

i do not disagree, but remain confident that the developers will get the functionality working fairly quickly. My case is quite different from yours in that my use of plugins (and I have 5 Topaz plugins as well as PerfectlyClear (which I like quite a bit) and Dxo ViewPoint 2) is more optional than necessary so I feel I can afford to wait for plugin functionality. For me the basic AP functionality is enough to warrant my buying the product. I know others have very different needs. As an aside I have my computer working properly but am having trouble with my screen. I have plans to buy a new monitor tomorrow (I am currently using my TV as a monitor) and thus can not yet really tell much about color purity or white point settings so I will have to respond to your Topaz photoFXlab comment tomorrow after I have a working monitor and can spend some time looking at colors. Sorry.

Only in English? Now that is a surprise. From MEB's comment I assume that full plugin support is coming. I just don't know when. But apparently the NIK functionality is about the same as Topaz. Some work, some don't. I also have seen that repeated calls fail. The first call for an image might succeed but the second one might fail.
