  1. This is a much smaller change than automation or Macros. I was just thinking about being able to export multiple images that are open. In PS (and Elements) this is done through the automation interface but I was thinking about a much more simple addition. Some of this is already done since, if you tell AP to quit, you will get a recurring set of dialog boxes asking you about saving any images that have been modified but not already saved. I was thinking about something similar to that.
  2. I know there are some tools that allow for adjustment of selections - growth, shrinkage, etc. What would be nice is a chisel tool that would allow for the removal of a specified number of pixels where the brush is used. Thus, in some areas where there is a selection halo from a background replacement it would be possible to remove the halo.
  3. Just to let you know, there is the Media Browser which you can access from View -> Media Browser. I am not sure if it allows for basic copying and I am pretty sure that it does no renaming, but the browser is there and available for some uses.
  4. Billtils suggested to me that I try to use the Refine tool to adjust the amount of the image selected by the luminosity mask. I had not tried this before although I had tried other Select adjustments. As it turned out I had a good deal of success using the Ramp command in the Refine dialog box so that has allowed me to lower the effective amount of the image selected and make the mask more practical for my needs. Others who might have the same issue with the amount of the image selected by the luminosity mask might also try the same. Thank you Billtils.
  5. It would be nice to be able to export multiple images at the same time. As it is I have to go through the export pages for every single open image. The ability to open a single dialog box, select which open images are to be exported and then to select the folder and name-format-template to be used would be very helpful.
  6. Using the curve adjustment does not seem to have any effect on the selected pixels when I do it on some of my images. What am I missing?
  7. As a general rule you can select something using any of the select tools and then press the delete key to remove or, if you want to isolate only the selected item, invert the selection and then delete that part of the image. Of course perhaps I am missing what you are asking.
  8. Yes. That is all true. You might want to look at PTLens as they have a plugin that I have thought about using.
  9. Out of curiosity is there any way to adjust the amount of selections made when creating a luminosity mask? For example the luminosity mask created by OnOne's PerfectPhoto Suite is very different from that created by AP and the Affinity luminosity mask seems like a bit too much is selected for my taste Is there any way to control how much luminosity is needed to be included in the mask?
  10. The developers posted on this forum some time ago telling us to use / as the support folder. Just navigate to MacIntosh HD and select that as your support folder. As for the plugins, I use Topaz and some of them work, some do not, and sometimes repeated calls will cause a crash. The developers have promised that this functionality will be fixed in the next couple of beta releases.
  11. I did not know that the App Store had a 14 day trial period, so that is good news. Thanks for posting that.
  12. How do you get a 10 day free trail from the App Store? I thought there were no trials from there and I don't think the app is still available from the Serif webpage.
  13. My beta stopped working on the day of the release (here in the US). I also expected a somewhat longer window, perhaps allowing users a week to convert over, but at least I was able to buy the release version the day it was available. Things are, I guess, more difficult in Greece due to the current crisis. I hope things will be better there soon now since the news says that a deal has been reached.
  14. There are 2 basic ways to edit raw images. You can do your editing directly in a pixel editor like Affinity Photo (or Photoshop CC or Adobe Elements or photoLine), but then you can not write the edited image back out in the native raw format. None of these pixel editors will allow you to import a NEF (or CR2 or ARW) and write it back out in the same format. Only the software from the original camera manufacturer will allow you to do that (DPP for Canon, etc). The second way to edit your images is to use a workflow tool like Lightroom or CaptureOne or Dxo Optics Pro. Those are 3rd party raw editors and allow you to do many types of edits, but they are not true pixel editors and do not allow you to do normal layer processing, image warping, context-sensitive replacement and many other things. If you use these tools (as I do) then you need to call a special fixed editor like Affinity Photo (or Photoshop or Adobe Elements or photoLine) to do that work. You can do that by sending the image directly from your workflow software to the editor and then that editor is considered to be an external editor. I apologize for explaining this in English as I do not speak or write French. My apologies.
  15. During beta testing I became used to clicking on the history slider to move forward and backward in accumulated history. I could move the slider either forward or backward in steps or in one complete jump. But since the product launch (or perhaps one or two beta releases before) the slider is no longer working as I am used to. If I have a series of history steps I can drag the slider either forward or backward. If the slider is early in the history, or at the start, I can click on the slider space and move it forward, either in steps or in a complete jump, depending upon the position I use to click. However the backward movement does not seem to work as well. I can move the slider back in steps but can no longer move it to the start of the history. If I click at the start of the slider space it moves back in steps, but will not move completely to the start. To do that I have to drag it. This is not how I remember this tool working before.
  16. Bill, Did I miss something (I may well have) because I assumed he only wanted to produce an output processed file as a tiff or jpg. No third party photo editors I know of write output files in the native raw format although, I suppose, some do write dng files.
  17. Use File -> Export, select image type you want.
  18. You can also merge the layers using the Layer -> Merge Visible or select the layers, right-click and select Merge Visible. Both of those will produce a merge layer but you will have to delete the excess layers before you write out the image.
  19. Leigh: Well, the app was released 2 days ago (in the US, 3 days ago in other places) and we still have no more information about when the plugin functionality will be available. Is there anything you can find out?
  20. I looked at the roadmap and was surprised that there is nothing on it concerning plugin functionality. Is that because it is already in AP and is considered a bug? Or something else?
  21. I looked on vimeo for a tutorial explaining how to create a luminosity mask using AP, but had no luck finding anything. Does anyone have a good set of instructions on how to create a luminosity mask using AP? It would help me stop using the OnOne Suite to create the mask. Thank you. UPDATE: Never mind. Found it in the keyboard shortcuts. The instructions say to use Cmd-Shift-Click but that does not work if you click on the image. You must click on the thumbnail for the layer you want to create the luminosity mask for and then it works. Perhaps that information should be added to the keyboard shortcut list.
  22. Thank you Bill. I have been using Houdah to geocode my raw images before I process them but there are times, like doing HDR or panos, when the generated jpg or tiff will not have the gps info embedded and then I have to use something like AP to take care of it.
  23. Considering the dollar-zloty exchange rate (1:3.82) and the Polish VAT (23%) it seems as though the Polish price is about 10% under the US price. Interesting. I am certainly not complaining as the introductory price for AP is a very, very good buy and has been more than covered by the money I saved since January by dropping out of the Adobe Photography Program and using APB instead. I was just surprised that the App Store prices vary from country to country. I guess you learn something new every day.
  24. OK. I had thought changing would require reloading the raw image. Thank you. I do not see any way to set the location, only to view where the image was taken. Is it possible to set the location? If so, how?
