OlgaAcroro reacted to Mr Lucky in Moving a layer by one pixel at a time
I would like to know how to move a layer by one pixel at a time, every time I move it I find it snaps to moving by more than one pixel.
In order to do this with the mouse I need to zoom out more than I want to.
Is there a key command that will nudge the layer vertically or horizontally by one pixel?
Thanks

OlgaAcroro reacted to saberbe in Select objects with same variables
In complex drawings, I've often found that one of the most time saving features is the ability to select object with the same variables. E.g: select all objects with same fill color (exact or close to), stroke width, ...

OlgaAcroro reacted to Peter Werner in Colour mode conversion as adjustment layers
Right now, an Affinity Photo document can only be RGB, Grayscale or LAB at a time. However, there are several workflows where it would be beneficial to work in more than one.
Examples are:
Black and white conversion – you would like to end up with a grayscale image, but work with RGB data using channel mixers, HSL and so on and be able to edit these after the fact. The final image being saved as Grayscale is so important because it ensure that it ends up being separated into the CMYK black channel, leaving CMY clean. Applying LAB mode corrections like LAB curves inside of an RGB mode retouch (could also be implemented as an implicit conversion as part of the curves adjustment layer like in PhotoLine though) Manually fine-tuning the result of CMYK conversion by manipulating the image in RGB mode (possible through soft-proofing, but requires a manual CMYK-export in the end and you have to re-do any manual adjustments that may have been made on the resulting CMYK file every time) These will be even more relevant once work files can be saved natively as TIFF retaining layers and so on since you can then actually place your working files in third party software and not have to export a bunch of separate files. Especially in the B/W case, you currently have to keep your RGB original retouch, then your BW conversion RGB file, and then a final single-channel BW exported file.
Currently, there seems to be no other way than to flatten the image and convert to another mode as far as I can tell (haven't tried placing embedded documents yet though). Photoshop provides a rather clumsy workflow where you can convert your entire document into a smart object and then change the colour mode of the enclosing document. But especially if you just want to quickly apply LAB curves a bunch of times in your retouch, the nesting just becomes unusable.
If you had simple adjustment layers along the lines of "Convert to LAB" and "Convert to CMYK", that would make it easy to mix the best of all worlds in one single document.

I too much prefer the original icons. The icons give a visual message of what they do, especially the Publisher icon compared to the new version. Why does AFFINITY have to follow a trend? Most thing come round full circle and only dead fish swim with the current.
I hate to criticise as I am a great fan of AFFINITY and the way you guys interact with users.

Thanks for creating a brilliant solution Serif and to continue to keep improving it. New features look great, and I noticed a little Star maker there also :)
Will being able to hold down space bar allow me to move around objects as I create them? Aka. Illustrator, Fireworks etc. Still miss this :) Either way, keep up the great work. Looking forward to Publisher also.

OlgaAcroro reacted to nickdaum in Google Nik Collection is now free for everyone.
Hi MEB
OK, so it's useless as far as my needs are concerned. I'll continue using it as a stand-alone app and I'll be waiting for the future HDR tool promised for AP.

OlgaAcroro reacted to Dale in Affinity Photo is Apple's Best Mac App of 2015
As if we didn't have enough good stuff to tell you today with our amazing pair of app updates, we learned this afternoon that Affinity Photo is the Best Mac App of 2015!
We can't quite believe it, but it's true! That makes it best photo app too, but it’s also BEST ANY KIND OF MAC APP OF THE YEAR! Best App! :) Amazing, thank you Apple! This is what developers dream of!
There's not too much more to say except thank you, to Apple of course but also to everyone that has helped us shape the app into what it is. Pop over to our blog to read and see a little more.
Thank you, Dale.

OlgaAcroro reacted to mrmotionblur in Text Right align ignores spaces at the end
How can I make the right align of a text frame respect the spaces at the end of a line?
Right now, if the last characters of a line are spaces, the line is aligned by its last visible character, not the last character of the line.
I am trying to indent lines from the right.

OlgaAcroro reacted to ChrisKnight in Affinity Designer 1.5.5 B2 - Text display compressed
Hello,
I'm using my Designer beta copy for a work and played with the text tools. Things were going fine when I ended with a weird behavior lately.
I don't know if I changed a setting somewhere but when I want to create a new text I get some unreadable characters... I almost see a line instead of each characters that I type (See the screenshot).
If I copy/paste another text it seems to work but for the moment when I create a new one I've got this :(
I saved my file and opened it in both the beta and the regular version of designer and it shows the same "bug". So it might not be a "display" problem... I posted here (in beta section) but it could be a bug in the main dev tree too...
My mac is a Retina MBP 15 mid 2012 with Mac OS X 10.12.3 !
Before creating this post I tried to find similar discussion but it seems that there is none or I couldn't find it so any help would be welcome ;)
Thanx
