smudge tool picking up extra colors
in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)

trying to blend colors with a blending brush that uses the smudge tool. It keeps picking up a dark green. i have a base color as the bottom layer with nothing underneath. and am smudging the layer directly above it. Can't see why this should be happening.
