  1. You’re welcome. If you are suggesting that it might be useful if there was a way to be able to view the Text Wrap ‘area’ around layers, so we could see this sort of problem more easily – maybe an extra option in the View menu – then I would agree, and it might be a good idea for a feature request (if one doesn’t already exist).
  2. Welcome to the forums @Hanjoerg If the Text Wrap Bottom distances for the Image layer or the Frame Text layer, in this case, are set then they could be 'interfering' with the page number. Have a look at the Text Wrap options for the Image and Frame Text layers and see if the values for Bottom are not zero. See attached video. 2024-01-19 14-20-34.mp4
  3. Thanks for the extra information and the files. (Both of your hyperlinks have the same target but I’m assuming that this is not relevant to this issue.) I’ve just tried exporting from Publisher 2.3.1 on Windows 10 to a PDF (with your export settings) and Acrobat (2023.008.20470) crashes in the same way for me too, but only when I don’t give the application a few seconds to ‘get itself in order’ after launch. If I leave it for about five seconds then it seems fine and I can click on the links for as long as I want (that I have tested). The same goes for the PDF you attached – early click on link = crash; wait before click and it = doesn’t crash. Because of that, I’m tending towards it not being a Publisher problem but something to do with Acrobat.
  4. I don’t really understand how to reconcile the video and your description. You say you are trying to select the line under the green area but most of your clicking is happening nowhere near the line which I am interpreting as the one you are concerned with. By “under” the green area do you mean something which is obscured by (lower in the layer stack) the green area or something which is vertically downwards from the green area, or something else? Have you tried setting the “Auto-select” functionality on the Context Toolbar to “Objects” instead of “Default”.
  5. Assuming that you are simply reading a PDF in Acrobat… Which Affinity application did you export the PDF from? What version is that Affinity software? What sort of hyperlink did you create in that application? How did you create the hyperlink? What type of layer/thing does the hyperlink link to? Do other hyperlinks in the same PDF work? Do other hyperlinks of the same type in that PDF work? Are you reading the PDF on the same machine where you exported the PDF? Is Acrobat updated to the latest version? If not, which version are you using? Is Windows updated to the latest version, and either way, which version are you using? What do you mean by Acrobat “crashes”? Any error messages or similar information? Can you supply the document, and/or PDF, or maybe a cut-down version containing just the page with the hyperlink on it and the page it links to?
  6. Welcome to the forums @ChrissyZ That’s quite a vague description of the problem, and you didn't tell us which Affinity application you are using. Without more information we can only make guesses about what you are working with, never mind what the problem could be that you are having with it. If you can attach the document (AFPUB, AFDESIGN or AFPHOTO), and give us more details about what is happening that that you think shouldn’t be, then we should be able to advise further. If you cannot attach the document, for whatever reason, a full-screen screenshot where we can see as much of your Layers Panel as possible might be a good start for problem diagnosis.
  7. Unless you purchased a Universal licence for the V2 software, which it seems not from what Dan said above, you purchased a licence to use the application on one OS only. This is made clear in paragraph 3.i of the End User Licence Agreement – use menu “Help → About” and then click on the EULA link on that dialog for the EULA text. Quote (with my added emphasis, and you can substitute macOS for Windows in your EULA): The licence granted to you is limited, non-transferable and non-exclusive. Except to the extent any rights cannot be excluded by law, you are permitted: (i) if you are a private individual, to download, install, use and run for personal use, one (1) copy of the Serif Software directly on each computer running Microsoft Windows (“Windows Computer”) that you personally own or control. It is also clear when you purchase licences for the software from the Serif website as each OS has it’s own “Buy Now” button to press.
  8. The black lines around the horse are on the upper Background layer and, in this case, they are ‘baked into’ the image; if you delete all of the layers, other then the Background layer, you can see that the black lines don’t go away. There are probably lots of ways to remove them but they will be manual processes and could be fiddly. It might be quicker/better to recreate the image without the black lines in the first place. Do you have the original image(s) that this was created from?
  9. Welcome to the forums @srtsteve There are no “starter editions” of the Affinity applications but there are trial versions, is that what you mean? If you mean the legacy Serif products (Page Plus, etc.) then they are not supported by Serif any more and you should look here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/164377-information-about-the-legacy-plus-range/ … for advice and assistance. For the Affinity applications, the information given here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/167878-how-do-i-licence-register-and-activate-affinity-v2-apps/ ...should tell you what you need to know about registration and activation of the software. If neither of these applies then we may need more detailed information about what you have and what you are trying to do with it.
  10. You’re welcome. In your New Document dialog screenshots, the top one is for the Press Ready A4 preset while the second is for the Print A4 preset (see the line of text buttons above the ‘mini pages’); they’re both for the same size of paper but for different results. I think, but am not sure, that the Press Ready presets are for commercial printing – hence the CMYK Colour Format – while the Print presets are (mostly) for home printing – hence the RGB Colour Format – or something like that (an expert will be able to give better advice here). If your image has an RGB colour format and your document has a CMYK colour format, or visa versa, then that can often cause problems because the RGB colours don’t always ‘map’ onto the CMYK colours nicely because of the different methods of printing – RGB is additive for ‘printing with light’ on a screen while CMYK is subtractive for printing with inks on paper (or other physical medium). Colour formats/management is a really complicated subject which I know very little about so I wont try and explain it further than that. If you want to know more, try a web search for RGB versus CMYK and choose a rabbit hole to go down.
  11. You’re welcome. Hopefully the document I gave you back has enough content that getting it in ‘working order’ again isn’t too much of a chore. (I only removed the image layers and their associated effects, if any. Everything else should still be there, even if it’s not visible as white on a white background.)
  12. That document loaded for me in around a second but I don’t have the linked files. The Resource Manager says that a lot of the images are “Linked (Remote)”, maybe from a website or somewhere similar, so that’s probably a good place to start. If you have linked images it’s usually best to have them stored locally on the machine you are using. I’ve attached a copy of the document with the images removed in case it helps. problem-file-2.afdesign
  13. As it states in the Help for the Slices Panel: “Path—defines the folder name for the JSON imageset to be written to. For Xcode UI development only.” If I did Xcode UI development then I might know what that means but I don’t do it, so I don't know. If you don’t do Xcode UI development either then I would suggest ignoring it.
  14. Have you tried creating the document in Photo, making sure it looks/prints right, then saving it, then opening the saved document in Designer and seeing if they look/print the same? If the documents look different then that would suggest to me that there’s something (or maybe more than one thing) in your application Settings which is different, maybe something to do with Colour Management or similar (I’m not an expert in that area). Try launching both applications, without creating/opening a document, put the applications side-by-side on your screen and then go to each Setting page in turn checking to see if there are any differences.
  15. Welcome to the forums @RayKymS Have you looked at Column Guides? They allow you to divide the page/artboard/etc. into columns/rows of the same size when you don’t use the gutter. It’s not by percentage but, for example, 4 columns = 25%.
  16. If you find yourself doing this often then you might like to have a look at using Assets. See attached video for a basic example. (You would probably take more time creating the original design before making it into an asset.) 2024-01-18 09-03-27.mp4
  17. That doesn’t give us much to work with as “multiple page planner” could mean lots of different things to different people. If you have an example you can point us to on the web then a link to it might be useful. Or a photo of an existing planner which you would like to replicate could be handy. Or, you could search these forums for planner or calendar (two separate single-word searches) to see if anyone else has made something similar. (If someone has shared a template, and if they are still active in the forums, they will probably be able to help with any modifications you want to make - just ask a question in the thread where you found the template.)
  18. In your screenshots you are using the Character Panel. You need to use the Text Styles Panel (menu “Window → Text → Text Styles”) to find the correct hamburger menu.
  19. You’re welcome. If you can explain what you are trying to do then someone can probably advise on a good way to do it, especially if they have done pretty much the same thing before and know of any potential pitfalls.
  20. Thanks for attaching the AFPUB file, that makes it much easier to see what’s going on. If you only have one page to export to PDF then the whole document can only export as a PDF with one page. What is it that you want to achieve?
  21. Is there some reason why your screenshots are not of the full screen or application window? They all seem to be ‘cropped’ strangely, especially to the bottom and left. When I asked for the exported file I meant the file which you got as a result of the export process, not a screenshot of you viewing that file. Would you be able to share the actual PDF file? Edit: I have a feeling that there could be some confusion over layers and pages here but I need more information. Also, can you supply a screenshot where we can see your Pages Panel? If you can publicly share the actual AFPUB file then that would be great but I understand that you might not want to or be able to.
  22. Thanks for the screenshots. We can now see that you are using Publisher, rather than Designer or Photo, so that’s a good start. We can also see that the export file type is PDF and that Area is set to Whole Document (second screenshot) so that should do what I think you want. In your original post you said “I have a file that is many layers...”, did you mean pages instead of layers, or did you mean Layers (with a capital “L”), or just layers? When you say “...it will only export the current page”, how did you find this out? In other words, how are you viewing the exported result (which software) and did you try scrolling up/down or using some other kind of page-turn functionality? When you said you “have tried importing this into V2”, how did you “import” it? Did you open the document, or did you use the Place functionality, or something else? Would you be able to publicly share the exported file here?
  23. Can you show us a full-screen screenshot where we can see both your Layers Panel, so we can get an idea of your document structure, and Export Dialog, so we can see your export settings, just before you press the Export button to export? (You might need to get two screenshots for us to see all of your Export Dialog settings.) Also, do you want a solution that works in V1 or V2, or both (if one is available in either)?
  24. In case anyone reading this is wondering what use the Repeat Extend functionality can be used for, I have attached a short video showing one nice example use for it. 2024-01-17 08-35-25.mp4
