The latest official NumberWang annual is almost ready to ship. Packed with all of the numbers that really are NumberWang. You'll find some old favourites - 3, 4.2, 17, and who can forget 84? - and some surprises - 92 and 4008 anyone? Don't let your NumberWang parties get bogged down in arguments, get the official list and you'll know exactly what is NumberWang. P.S. If you're not a fan of "That Mitchell and Webb Look" then you probably won't have a clue what's going on here, so sorry for that. This is not for a real thing, it's just a bit of fun. P.P.S. I know I didn't get the logotype quite right. I couldn't be bothered to take the time to create it properly for a silly thing like this.

I like this as a piece of abstract art. It's nice. Wouldn't look out-of-place on a gallery wall. There are three small things that slightly mar it for me: 1. The gradient on the dark blue shape on the left doesn't fit the rest; 2. Some of the edges are a bit close to being in the same direction, e.g. the bottom-centre blue pentagon and the green triangle next to it; 3. There seems to be a tiny bit of "underlap" near the centre of the picture. None of these things is a deal-breaker though. Just me being a bit too picky. All-in-all, nice work.

If Serena lives in the UK then things have turned really weird in 2060: Public transport passengers talking to each other! Whatever next? -
I like the new version. The ship looks better in the background and the sky has more 'personality'. The dragon looks better too. I think even more vivid colouring would make it really stand out but that might not be something you want. All-in-all though, great stuff.

Thanks for taking the time to comment @ronniemcbride I would agree. The "Fire" cover is a more 'complete' thing than the other. I think the "Chocolate" title font goes with the background - smooth and dreamy - but not with the logotype. The whole idea was a little exercise in "What can I do with this logo?" rather than anything serious but these things do need to be considered and it's worth pointing them out. There was a third cover which I thought used the logo better but, considering recent events in and around the US, I didn't think it was appropriate to post (these covers were made ages ago).

An interesting art style. The mix of photo and illustration works well. (I'm assuming that the iceberg and sea are from a photo and haven't been drawn in Affinity. If they have then they're absolutely fantastic work.) I have a few comments from a personal view but I'm not an artist so feel free to ignore them: If some of the red text could be "bent" round some of the ice it would add a really nice touch. It would look more like the man has been painting it on rather than it just being overlaid. The dragon is great but I get the feeling that it's too much "in the background". I think it would look better if the background was darker and the dragon was larger, maybe with part of it behind the iceberg so that it looked more a part of the overall composition rather than a separate item. Have you tried making the dragon a bit more, I'm going to say "neon" for want of a better word? If the dragon looked like it was using energy and giving off light it might work better with the environmental theme. A bit like this: http://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/photo/bright-neon-signs-colourful-crowded-cityscape-royalty-free-image/470027170 It's just that the dragon seems to be a bit "lost" in the background and might benefit from being more prominent. It's great artwork so why hide it away at the back? As I said, I'm not an artist so I might be wrong about everything I've said above so don't worry about doing anything about it. I certainly couldn't come up with anything as nice as you have done so there's no need for you to listen to what I've said. My comments are just what has come into my head and doing anything along these lines might not make things better. All in all, it's really nice work and I wish I could make something like it.

Thanks for the comments @jer For "Fire" I think I went for a fairly bog-standard "first studio album" sort of look. As if the record label didn't want to spend too much on a new band. For "Chocolate" I'm pretty sure I was trying to make some kind of juxtaposition between the mad splotches and angles of the logotype against the dreamy smooth background. Like going from a rave dance floor into a chill-out room. Or something like that. The "jarring" was deliberate but there's a good chance I went too far. Anyway, they were both just simple experiments with typography that I found while doing some housekeeping. (I have way too many bits of half-finished rubbish on my hard drive.) If they help to nudge someone into trying something similar of their own then it's been worth posting them.

Here are some album covers that I worked on a while ago but never got round to properly finishing. One is for a sort of "hard rock" cover (a bit of GIMP work on the background) and the other is more "trance" (all AD) but using the same logotype. The logotype was originally Times New Roman - I'm fairly sure of that - but AD made the modifications pretty easy, for the most part anyway. Neither is particularly Earth-shattering or anything like that but I thought I'd post them in case they were interesting to anyone (and before I completely forgot about them). P.S. The band name is fictional and not related to any existing band with the same name (I just thought it made some nice shapes).

Well, slap my face and call me impressed. It would be great work if it wasn't all vectors. Because it is all vectors it's brilliant. I wish I could draw like this.

This really is very nice work. All it needs is some text saying something like "New York - The World's Finest Shopping and Fashion" and it could have come straight out of the 50's. Lovely stuff.

Alfred: Ah, shame about that.

Excellent work. Very nicely done. I'm not sure that the shadow under the car looks quite right, but the overall amount of detail is very impressive.

I remember seeing a video about doing something similar in Blender a while back. The video has gone from my YouTube history and my memory is fuzzy but the process was something like: * importing images as planes (settings change needed to allow this); * convert the plane to a mesh; * manipulate the nodes on the mesh. I tried it myself for a little while but it was quite a labour-intensive process so I gave up in the end, but it looked interesting. (This video https://youtu.be/x1N4rAKvwts has some similar advice but it's more "intense" than the video I was thinking about and I haven't tried it myself yet.)

Great stuff. (I prefer the black and white ones.) Reminds me of something I saw a while back that blew my mind: https://youtu.be/VQfgtUw4Vtc I'm looking forward to seeing more of this kind of thing.

Fantastic work. Easily good enough for this: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/44775-get-your-affinity-work-featured/

maspick, I just followed my thoughts where they went. Sometimes they go too far! I do like the image though. I had the idea that some kind of mining craft coming - just over the horizon - between the planet and Earth might look good but then I decided that I prefer it as it is. Its sometimes better left to the viewer to think about what's happening. (Unless they take those thoughts a bit too far as I did.)

The thumbnails don't do the animations justice. So many great little touches in there. I like the way the big guy's beard sways when he walks and the way his belly wobbles when he throws the bomb is unexpected and very funny. Great stuff. -

Really nice work. I think the glowing effect works really well on the artefact. (The background and the back of the head seems to have been pixelated a bit but that's a minor issue.)

Fantastic. The shading and lighting, in particular, are superb. (There's even something in the background that sets it all off very nicely.)
