  1. You can change the Screen Tolerance (‘snapping distance’) via the Snapping drop-down – see attached image. If that’s not what you want then you might need to give us more details, preferably with a visual example.
  2. You’re welcome. As for rearranging the categories manually, I don’t think you can do that as they are always listed in the order specified by the “Sort Categories By” option in the Brushes Panel ‘hamburger menu’.
  3. The ones with the ‘shopping bag’ come from the Serif Store and the ones with the ‘linked chain’ are linked between the applications.
  4. @pfi This section of the forums is for the beta software only. If you are still using the beta software then you should probably update the commercial release to 2.4.0 and use that instead as the beta will be ‘expiring’ soon. If you are using the 2.4.0 commercial release then you should be posting in a different bug section of the forums.
  5. I can’t be sure but the problem looks like it’s because the QR Code (layer name “bit.ly_boar-barra”, in various places) isn’t pixel-aligned. Make sure that the X, Y, W and H in the Transform Panel are integer pixel values and it should work better.
  6. I know, I tried it myself and got so mixed up in the various dash parameters that I gave up after a while. In case it’s any use to anyone, the Dash parameters I was using (also getting an SOSOSOSOS) were: 0, 4, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 (Round cap) 2, 22, 0, 0, 0, 0, -3 (Square Cap) 2, 22, 0, 0, 0, 0, -7 (Square Cap) 2, 22, 0, 0, 0, 0, -11 (Square Cap) Also, I had Balanced switched OFF for each Stroke.
  7. It’s a nice idea but, to my untrained-in-Morse-code eye, that spells SOSOSOSOSOS..., or maybe S O S O S O S O S..., rather than SOS SOS SOS... I believe SOS is supposed to be keyed without gaps between the letters so it needs to be SOS<gap>SOS<gap>SOS... Might be a bit tricky to pull that off with multiple Strokes, but nice if someone can do it (and maybe share it in the Resources section).
  8. You can click on the filename of the image in the VS Code Explorer to display it and then either: right-click the image, select Copy, then paste it into the Affinity application, or; right-click the image, select Copy, and then use “File → New From Clipboard” in the Affinity application, or; drag the image to the Affinity application (I think you need to click on a different filename and then click on the original image filename again in the Explorer to be able to drag it again). Note: When you drag a file from the Explorer in VS Code, you are dragging some text which contains the filename of the file.
  9. Welcome to the forums @GeoffinOz Please see this thread for information and product keys: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/164377-information-about-the-legacy-plus-range/
  10. The Procedural Texture Filter (Live or otherwise) needs a layer to work on because it has to apply a texture to something. You should be able to add a Live Procedural Texture Filter when there are no layers in the document but it won’t do anything because it has nothing to work upon. You cannot apply a non-Live Procedural Texture Filter to a document that contains no layers because it needs a layer to work with.
  11. Short answer: No. Longer answer: Search the forums for selection path and/or selection shape and see what answers people have already given to similar questions. Alternative answer: If you can give us more details about your precise requirements then someone might have an idea of what you can do in this particular case.
  12. You’re welcome; fingers crossed that someone will be able to give you better news.
  13. Thanks for the screen-grabs. If the font you are using is this one https://elements.envato.com/groovy-retro-font-8M4TS9R then that doesn’t look like a ‘simple’ font so I don’t know how well it will work in the Affinity applications, and I don’t have an envato log-in to download and test it myself. Someone else should be able to though so I’ll leave it to someone who can help better than me.
  14. Thanks for the extra information. Unless I’m missing something, it looks to be working okay to me. The geometry of the smaller donut is wholly ‘inside’ the geometry of larger one so all you get by adding the two geometries together is the larger donut.
  15. Can you show us what your Glyph Browser looks like when you are trying to select one of the glyphs you want to select? Also, is that font a variable font or a static font?
  16. Can you show us what the donuts looked like before you used the Geometry Add function? A sample document is often useful in these situations.
  17. If you read the discussion I linked to in the post before your last one you will see that there seems to be an agreement between some users and some staff members that Artboards should (by default) be pixel-aligned upon creation and that a 'ticket' (AF-2093) has been logged for development to have a look at to see if this could be implemented. However, some posts in that discussion also give information about some problems that could occur by making this change, so it’s probably not a trivial change with no possible negative repercussions. In other words, it's something that needs to be properly investigated before any possible change is implemented, to be sure that any knock-on effects don't make things worse.
  18. On Windows it’s a little bit farther to the right but not by a lot, maybe about half its width or so - see attached image. The space to the right of the visibility button is used for the tag colour bar - see attached image. Also on Windows, you can click that icon by clicking anywhere above or below it within the height of the layer ‘rectangle, not just on the circle itself. (Same with the lock button.)
  19. Did you look here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/79067-affinity-photo-program-will-not-close/ You cannot move a thread but a moderator might do so for you if they happen to be strolling by and notice this.
  20. It looks like the thread has been moved to the ‘normal’ bugs section. You probably shouldn’t be using the beta (unless you are doing so for very specific reasons) since the commercial release of 2.4.0 is, as far as I know, identical to the 2.4.0 beta, and the 2.4.0 beta software will probably expire soon as it only has a short ‘shelf life’ (about a month or so if I remember correctly).
  21. My point was that Serif have had various requests to make the default export location various things by various people in lots of varied situations, including options that would allow the user to specify their own choices which could be used at different times depending on what they wanted in the circumstances they found themselves in at different times. Try doing a search for default export location , reading all of the threads with all of the different requirements, and then try and then coming up with a solution that no-one will complain about. What’s ‘best’ for you, or some people, may be ‘a disaster’ for others; there's no win-win scenario.
  22. Welcome to the forums @Spagra This has been requested many times. You can find some of these requests by searching the forums for the word dimension Please search the forums, as per the forum guidelines, before posting requests which duplicate existing requests.
  23. This sort of thing has been requested, discussed, and sometimes argued against (for various reasons) since 2016 at least. See, for example: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/198288-export-folder/ Basically, Serif are aware that different people have different – sometimes diametrically opposed – short/long-term expectations/requirements for the default export location.
  24. Welcome to the forums @nomaditerranean If you do a web search for affinity publisher text wrap you should find all the information you need, for the basics at least. If you watch the videos and read the tutorials and still don't know what to do then tell us which parts you don't understand.
