  1. Which Affinity application do you already have installed, and which version is it? Since the current trial software is for version V2 of the software, and the V2 applications are completely separate from the V1 applications, installing the trial software should not interfere at all with any already-installed V1 application(s). Installing a V2 trial for any individual Affinity application should not interfere with an existing V2 application unless you try installing a trial version ‘over’ the application you already have installed. I believe the applications, including the trial versions, are still installed individually so you should have control over what is installed and what isn’t. Does that help to clarify the situation, or do you need more details?
  2. Once you have made four posts and waited three days you should be able to change your avatar: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/109729-how-to-change-profile-picture-on-affinity-forum/&do=findComment&comment=1158620
  3. You can get what you show in your second video using Paragraph Decorations, but only in Publisher. See attached video. 2024-02-04 09-16-07.mp4
  4. I’ve shown one method to do this in my attached video (the text below isn’t a step-by-step guide, just notes on the video). “Enable Snapping” should be ON, “Snap to object bounding boxes” should be ON, and “Include Bounding box mid points” should be ON. Part A – The first circle If you are not using Designer, and therefore can’t use the Point Transform Tool, or you just want to do it quickly, then, instead of the instructions in this part, you can simply snap the left ‘side’ of circle B to the right ‘side’ of of circle A and then rotate all the circles to how you want them later. Draw a line from the centre of circle A to anywhere. Use the Node Tool to move the end of the line to get the angle you want. Use the Point Transform Tool to move and rotate circle B. Use the Point Transform Tool to translate circle B so that it touches circle A. Part B – The second circle The width of the first construction circle should be: width of circle A plus width of circle C. The width of the second construction circle should be: width of circle B plus width of circle C. If you aren’t using Designer (and can’t use the Point Transform Tool) you can draw a line from the intersection of the two construction circles (to anywhere, the end point doesn’t matter) and then use snapping with the Move Tool to drag circle C into place. Note: If you don't want circle B to be rotated after this then you can just double-click the rotation handle to reset it. Important: There may be tiny gaps between the circles but that’s because they aren’t perfect circles, and that’s because of the way the Affinity applications draw circles using bezier curves. I don’t think there’s anything we can do about this. 2024-02-04 08-50-06.mp4
  5. Welcome to the forums @rgladwell This is working as expected in Publisher 1.10.6 on Windows so it seems like it could be, at first blush, a macOS-specific issue. Someone using 1.10.8 on macOS Sonoma will probably check and see if it’s working for them. It’s worth noting that development of the V1 applications has (generally) finished, so V1 bugs are unlikely to be fixed unless it’s a bug that has come about specifically because of an OS upgrade. If the procedure works on other macOS Sonoma machines then it could be a problem with your particular set-up and it might take a while to find a fix, if there is one. While you are waiting, it might be useful if you can supply some machine spec’ details so people can see if they are comparing apples with apples (so to speak).
  6. It could take you longer to find something that’s close to what you need and then change it than it might take to make one yourself that’s just right. If you can show us an example of an existing newsletter someone can probably take you through the basics of the layout and set-up quite quickly.
  7. Check the Stroke Colour to see if that is set to red. Note: Full-screen screenshots are much better for problem diagnosis. Note: There are three Affinity applications; telling us which one you are using will help to get you quicker answers.
  8. There are more than a dozen snapping options shown in the image; can you say which one(s) gave you the result you wanted?
  9. For the benefit of anyone else with the same problem who is reading this, what was the thing that solved the problem for you?
  10. Snapping to an Isometric Grid seems to be working just fine for me in Designer 2 on Windows. If you can give us a full-screen screenshot showing both your “Grid and Snapping Axis” settings and your “Snapping” settings – like my attached image – then we should be able to help further. Note: Telling us that you have found an alternative, but not telling us what that alternative is, doesn’t help us to help you with it.
  11. Designer won’t be able to handle that particular plug-in until (if ever) it has plug-in capabilities, which it doesn’t at present. We users probably won’t hear any different about that unless Serif announce it in a beta at some point. You can follow the relevant beta threads to keep up-to-date with new features as they are added. Serif don’t generally tell us about new up-coming features, or timings, and there is no ‘roadmap’ for users to follow – we just wait and see what happens. (Also, this thread is for the V1 applications which won’t get any new features anyway.)
  12. I can’t reveal the progress of anything that Serif might be doing because I don’t work for them. If they do start to work on anything, the first place we users will usually find out about it is in a beta. If you want to keep up-to-date with what Serif are doing with new features then I would suggest following one or more relevant beta forum threads, as it seems that you might already be doing. All we can do is wait and see what, if anything, happens.
  13. If the copy functionality of PRISM (whatever that is) creates an image on the clipboard then it should paste into the Affinity applications reasonably well in most cases. On the other hand, if what gets copied to the clipboard isn’t an image then you will probably have problems since the Affinity applications won’t know what to do with the clipboard information. If you have an example document that you can share, and can tell us how to find PRISM, then someone can probably have a look and maybe come up with some kind of solution.
  14. This has been already been requested in various other threads. Try searching the forums for dimension .
  15. There might be something useful in one or more of these threads (found by searching the forums for wavy line 😞 https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/190560-how-do-i-make-a-wavy-line-that-looks-like-water/ https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/193656-wave-or-image-decorations-for-title/ https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/189767-creating-zig-zags-and-wavy-lines-from-stroke/ https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/157890-how-to-draw-this-wavy-line/ ...and others.
  16. It’s an interesting little film with a ‘groovy’ soundtrack and a ‘schoolmasterly’ narrator. It shows someone using, not just Letraset, but also Letrafilm (for colours), Letratone (for shades and patterns) and also Letraset Body Type (a kind of 60-year-old Lorem Ipsum). TPTV is a family-run business (Noel, the founder, his daughter, her husband, and a woman who lives down the road from them who pops in every now again to help with the accounts) so I’m pretty sure they won’t be doing anything ‘dodgy’ with the details given at login but I can understand you not wanting to create a new account.
  17. Welcome to the forums @Barbara A Felty Which Affinity application(s) do you have? There is a “Remove White Paper” filter but that’s only available in Photo (via menu “Filter → Colours → Erase White Paper”). There may be other possibilities but we might need to see what the placed image looks like to give you more advice. If you can upload the image we should be able to help further.
  18. ...and did you try doing the same thing which caused the problem with the Stroke Panel, rather than the Context Toolbar, as I asked about earlier? And you mentioned that you had to use the Task Manager to close Designer, so does that mean that the mouse pointer is only missing when it is over the Designer window? If you ‘un-maximise’ the Designer window, and the mouse pointer disappears, does it reappear when the mouse leaves the Designer window?
  19. What type of monitor are you using? There were problems a while ago with RTX and G-Sync https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/146372-any-news-on-gsync-compatibility-bug-fix/ but I don’t understand the discussions.
  20. All of the “A’s” look different to me. The original was probably hand made so every letter will probably be different in various ways, and I’m guessing that’s the look which Chris911 wants to achieve and keep if they want to make it as close to the original as possible.
  21. This might be a little bit off-topic (for both the thread and the forums in general) but, in the UK, the “Talking Pictures TV” channel recently aired a short (15 minutes or so) film about Letraset. It’s probably still available on their TPTV Encore web streaming service, if anyone is interested.
  22. Sorry, I should have been more specific as to where to switch the setting OFF; see attached image. If you cannot uncheck (untick) that setting then I don’t know what else you can do. Thanks for giving some system spec’s; if anyone needs more details then they will ask for them.
