What's your top three pragmatic 1.7 wishlist?
1drey replied to dmstraker's topic in Feedback for Affinity Photo V1 on Desktop
1. Make Tone mapping persona aware about spherical/cylindrical panoramas - currently if I edit a pano in equirectangular projection, Tone mapping persona applied different correction for the left and the right edges. It doesn't play role for normal photographs, but if the edited pano is being displayed in an interactive viewer, this difference results in very visible ugly seam. There is a workaround - make a copy prior to tone mapping, shift one copy 50% by horizon, apply identical tone mapping, shift back and lay over the first tone mapped image. The seam can be masked with part of the shifted*2 panorama. BUT the ugly 'vortex' in the zenith and nadir still remains, because the stripe of pixels coming alongside the top and bottom edges of the image. Sometimes this vortex can be easily retouched, sometimes not. 2. Same for Developing persona - it has wider selection of tools for editing color, sometimes I use it for 'tone mapping' of my HDR panoramas. 3. To speed up the Tone mapping persona. For larger images - say 20000*10000 - it takes eternity to apply tone mapping corrections. -
Any progress with 3DLC integration?

HI all, I often face the need to convert 32bit 360° panoramic image, created with the aid of stitching software, into tone mapped 16bit image. Affinity Photo does a decent job performing this task, but it always creates the seam, clearly visible when edited panorama is displayed in 360° viewer. It is really disappointing. Yes, there is a workaround - to duplicate the source panorama, offset it (wrapping around), make identical development, put it as a layer over first development (ofsetted after development) and use respective area from the second development to cover the seam. But it is time consuming Same for the tonemap persona. Editing with it creates even more visible seam and sometimes a tiny, but noticeable 'vortex' around zenith and nadir points. I hope it is relatively easy to implement.

Fine tuning hue of selected color range
1drey replied to LarsDaniel's topic in Feedback for Affinity Photo V1 on iPad
That would be extremely valuable option, use this approach very often in PS- 16 replies

In PS I often use selections based on tonal range for exposure blending and other fine corrections. AP allows making of tone-based selections, but it offers only three ranges, which are pretty harsh and rarely hit the precise range that I need. Combining it with blending options somewhat helps, but not quite. My question is: is it possible to edit the tonal range used for selection? And (ideally) visually - like in PS and it's luminosity masks?

I've contacted with Oleg Sharonov, the creator of 3D LUT Creator and he would be happy to provide better integration with Affinity Photo - similar to the way it is integrated with Photoshop and some other Adobe products. It is pretty convenient to import images from PS 'on the fly' and sent prepared LUT back, where it as automatically applied to the source image. Now it is necessary to export image, open it in 3DLC, export lut file, import it in AP... All he needs is AP's API specification.

I just love power of Blend options tool, but think that it can be boosted even further. Adding an option to select not only luminosity as the argument and not only R, G or B will be a major boost. Ideally it should be defined on HSL space (or, even better, on a wide range of color spaces like LAB, CMYK, WRGB etc) - a combination of all three parameters. It would let the user to apply adjustments very selectively... like adding vibrance to not saturated yellow objects in given brightness range, for instance. I am sure everyone would love to be able to add a point to the curve with some sort of picker tool Saving blending curves as presets is a must as well. It is often need to apply identical adjustments to a large set of images and now it turns into sort of guessing game - some variations are just inevitable with current approach.

I use extensively the program 3D LUT Creator - it allows create 3D LUTs in extremely powerful manner, I just love it. It allows import an image opened in the Photoshop at the current moment, create LUT and send it back in Photoshop where it is applied as an adjustment layer. The creator of this program is ready to provide support of Affinity Photo, but he needs to know how he can communicate with AP. If it is possible - how the right person in AP team can be contacted to provide necessary information?

HI everyone, I am playing with exposure fusion (following the tutorial ) - in some situations I give preference to this method over HDR because it lets produce more natural looking images (and because AP's HDR processing is very slow) . It came into my head that it is possible to adjust contribution of separate layers by painting of mask with soft brush. It kinda works, but no matter how soft brush I use, the edge looks very harsh. Do I miss something fundamental about it?
