kalinoaj got a reaction from R C-R in Get unwanted checkedboard background pattern for .svg saved image
Fixed by adding a white background to afdesign file (with a simple white rectangle covering whole dartboard), and then moving the white rectangle to the back layer.
There is probably a better way to do this, but at least it works.

kalinoaj got a reaction from luckydog23 in How to cut and paste selected cutouts between two open AP windows
How to cut and paste between two open AP windows?
First let me describe what I want to do by an alternate (non AP) method.
Say you have two open windows in AP, where you want to copy the color legend
in the window 1 plot image onto the plot image in window 2.
I use the grab application in the MAC utility tool box and clip out (copy) the legend
in window 1 and then simply paste it into the appropriate spot in the window 2 plot image.
How can I do this same operation using the AP tools?
I tried using the AP crop tool (in place of the Mac's grab utility), but when I tried
to paste the cropped legend into window 2, it ended up being a huge sized legend (maybe 5 times the original size),
with undesirable large gaps between the handles and pasted legend .
Using the grab utility app on the Mac did not change the size of the pasted legend and had nice desirable tight gaps between the handles and legend.

kalinoaj got a reaction from Wosven in shrink only height of .svg plotted curve, yet preserve text aspect ratio of text
I have a .svg file plot of a curve with various text titles and axis labels on the graphic.
I want to reduce the overall height of the graphic while preserving the aspect ratio of text titles and curve labels.
when i do this now with AFFINITY but squeezing down the handles, the resulting reduced curve and axis stuff looks ok but the text labels look flattened.
When I do this same operation inside the MATLAB post processing package, it does preserve the aspect ratio while reducing only the height, so there is an example of where it is possible .
I would like to do it in Affinity.
As a side question:
is there a percent reduction tool of some sort that can be applied to a graphic where the user enters the percent reduction desired in both the x and y directions separately, e.g. like the one in Adobe Illustrator?

kalinoaj got a reaction from Leigh in How to use Greek letters in text entry
After posting my question, I turned on the Greek keyboard on the Mac .
Then had access to all characters in all font types.
This worked fine.
I am using affinity
designer on LATEST OSX.
