manu schwendener got a reaction from capn in Phoot merge
If you mean stitching several pictures together, for example for a panorama: no, not yet.
But it's on the list of common feature requests: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10410-common-feature-requests-index

manu schwendener reacted to Justin in Patch Tool --No more circular brush/patch region showing
Hi ooker
The patch tool isn't a brush tool so does not have a circular cursor. From your description I think you started off using the healing brush and then switched to the patch tool somehow, maybe by pressing the J key which cycles between the various healing tools. You can get back to the healing brush by clicking and holding on the tool icon so the healing tools flyout appears.

Yeah, why not post your solution here? Did you apply some kind of black magic or reverse-engineer the app? ;)

manu schwendener got a reaction from LilleG in Photo: replace one colour with another (like red eye removal, but with colour picker)
I use and like the Inpainting Brush a lot to clean up unnecessary details in my pictures. But sometimes I get stuck.
In those cases it would be a big help to just be able to replace the colour of a disturbing element with the colour of the background - leaving the texture alone.
The Colour Replacement Brush does that to some extent, but it can "only" replace one hue with another, thus not working for white/grey/black.
Edit: in some cases dodging or burning the highlights did the trick (learned from the tutorial video 6. Retouching - Enhancing Landscapes/Architecture https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10119-in-house-affinity-photo-video-tutorials )

manu schwendener reacted to txmx in Context sensitive fill of a selection
A feature I often use in PS and did not find in Affinity is : make a selection - and fill it context sensitive. (sometimes alternative to the "healing brush tool", if the selection is somewhere inside the frame).
Example: I often use the " pespective tool" resp. its counterpart in PS. Sometimes I have to go INSIDE a picture with a corner. The result is an empty triangle on one side of the frame. Then I select this with the magic wand and fill the selection "context sensitive".
(If the selected part is not too big it usually works nice.)
How can I achieve this with Affinity?
BTW in PS you can _ how to say - symmetrically warp (both corners horizonally or vertically together).
Did not find it in Affinity too.?

manu schwendener reacted to DonatoF in File revert - Photo
Would like an option under the file menu to revert to the last saved version on disk, basically a shortcut to "close, discard changes, re-open the file".

Common Feature Requests index
Below is a list of common requested features for which there is already a thread created. Please avoid to create new ones if your request/feedback fits in one of those threads. We consider all requests no matter if they are common (and listed here) or not. The intend of this list is to avoid unnecessary thread duplicates. If you need to create a new one, please add just ONE request per thread. There is NOT a vote system in place. Adding +1 to those topics will NOT affect their priority nor imply their implementation. That’s mostly dependent on time and development goals and constraints. Thanks.

manu schwendener reacted to geza in LEGACY: Official Affinity Photo (Desktop) Video Tutorials
Dear Acapstick,
I appreciate your reply.
It is the kind of documentation I was searching for.
I will spend quality time reading the lines and absorbing the message.
I am impressed by the response of the community that is positive and to the point.
Best Regards,
géza

manu schwendener got a reaction from geza in Documentation of AP
Maybe this list helps? https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10119-in-house-affinity-photo-video-tutorials-now-live
Looks quite structured to me (am a beginner myself, so will work my way through them).

manu schwendener reacted to Shmoo in Adjust layer thumbnail size
In Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator we always had the option to change the size of your layer thumbs.
I really like bigger thumbs.

manu schwendener reacted to dogJW in Larger Toolbar Icons Please
Couldn't agree more -- and specifically would like to see an option to enlarge the vertical tools icons down the left side. This is critical for me.
It slows the workflow too much to squint at the tools icons to figure which is which and before selecting. Also agree that adding an "enlarge icon" option doesn't seem to be a difficult fix.
Thanks for considering.
-
manu schwendener reacted to marble51 in Flatten and save
OK - a bit more searching:
The Flatten command is not under the Layers menu, where I expected it, but under the Document menu.
The Save As command does not offer the option to save as another file type (e.g. .jpg) but the Export command does.
So problem solved, sorry for the impatience.

manu schwendener reacted to ronnyb in Feature Request: Inpainting option for crop and filters
Hey guys, congrats again for the awesome launch of Affinity Photo!
I had this idea: it would be great if filters and commands (such as Straighten / Rotate while Cropping) had a checkbox enabling an "Inpainting" option to fill in the newly blank pixel areas with Affinity's awesome Inpainting algorithm...
Thanks for considering this, I think it would be a very handy option.
Cheers!

manu schwendener got a reaction from ferreirex in Tool setting persistency
It's not possible yet, but MEB is aware that many people would like it (https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10004-settings-reset-deal-breaker/?p=42908).

manu schwendener reacted to bellyanalytical in Photo & Designer, double click on zoom tool
Hej,
I'm used to double click on the magnifier in Adobes programs to switch to the 100% view - would be cool to have it also in Photo and Designer. Tiny but nice.
:)
cheers,
Steffen

manu schwendener reacted to bretwilliams in Double-Click zoom tool = 100%
Might have been said before but I thought this was just a standard practice in all graphic apps. Double click the zoom tool to set to 100%. It's been embedded in my muscle memory since 1995.

To Affinity & Beyond!
Great news that Photo is getting let loose on the world. I'm sure some people are wary of using beta's - there gonna be blown away by version 1.
2/3rds of the way now ;-)
All the best for the launch.

manu schwendener reacted to Dale in Remaining development time
Hoping it's OK for me to say this.... it'll disappear if not!
We're in a great position with devs that have far more autonomy than most. It's their call with the head of dev what to add/pull/prioritise, when to submit to Apple etc—and of course they would rather have everything in the app too but then it'd would never get released at all (because perfection is unachievable!) :) It means they have tough decisions and cannot please everyone, but it also means they are working harder than the average dev to produce something very special. Just so you know, it's rather refreshingly not a financial or sales director making the calls in team Affinity.

manu schwendener reacted to Leigh in Intro and thanks
Thanks for the feedback stoneworks. Happy to hear you're enjoying Affinity Photo :)
To make the penquins disappear, you need the Inpainting brush. Happy Photo editing!
