  1. Can you check in 1.6.6. (Beta 8)? I just imported 25 jpeg photos by dragging them together onto the AP icon, each about 10MB. It takes a moment to open them, but works as expected for me (MacbookPro, macOS Sierra 10.12.6). The photos have not been worked on before, I only copied them from the memory card of my camera to the Macbook. [I didn't have problems with this in 1.6.6 (Beta 6), either; I know because I tested it.]
  2. Behaving the same for both of us, then; thank you for checking.
  3. This should get the 'bug' tag. My description above was wrong. Just after opening a photo I can custom crop 1:10 or 10:1, both behaving as expected. If I first crop 1:10 (without actually performing the crop), and then change the values to 10:1, the second crop is performed inside my initial crop - that's why the resulting area is so small. You can see the steps it takes while you're changing the values. @smadell: can you confirm? 1.6.6 (Beta 8): If you directly, as the first thing, crop 10:1 it works, but if you change the values the marked area becomes tiny? ----- PS: This also works wrong in AP 1.5.2 but in a different way. (Has been a bug since before AP initially got released https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/12394-what-happened-to-topic8799-crop-tool-inconsistency)
  4. @smadell There definitively is an inconsistency, yes. Edit: but not in the way I described here; see below.
  5. Edit: the behaviour I described was a freak incident, can not reproduce today.
  6. > the ability to undo crop steps rather than the whole crop action Yes, please. Workflow: I crop to the ratio I need. Ctrl+z should show me my whole picture again, but keep the area of my undone crop visible, so I can just move it around a little or adjust the size.
  7. Fixed: when I have many photos open, closing one now brings the next to focus (not the last). Also fixed: this cropping bug. Edit: introducing a new one instead.
  8. Hi Callum

Could you maybe try and bump that again? I'd be very grateful (just happened again).

I can also explain again why this is bothering me, if you'd like.

Big fan of Affinity Photo though :-)

    Kind regards
    Manu

The developers have told me this could make it into the next beta we release.

  9. Hi I'm using Affinity Photo mainly, but now I'm trying to do the following: I have a logo in format .eps with a transparent background. To use it for a blog on wordpress.com it needs to be in format .png or .gif (http://bit.ly/2qcmX81). When I open the .eps in AD and export the logo, how can I keep the background transparent? Thank you.
  10. > Also, check out the options available in System Preferences > App Store. Among other things, you can optionally set it to > automatically check for updates, download them in the background & notify you when they are ready to be installed, & > even install app updates without you having to do anything. Yes. All were checked, yet the messages I got for AD were "quit unexpectedly" and "no updates available". It's solved now, but I stand by what I said.
  11. > You need to be logged into the Mac app store Thank you, chrisbst, that worked. But it's not an elegant user experience ;-)
  12. Doesn't have to be via finder. Also happens if you have 1.5.2 and the Beta in your Dock and usually open the Beat from there or by dragging a photo onto the icon in the Dock. I have the faint idea that at some point the error message was more helpful than it is atm.
  13. Hello A_B_C, thank you for replying. I'm probably overlooking something very simple, but > go to the Mac App Store, click the Updates tab and download the latest version I get 'No updates available' Also, if I go to AD in the App Store, I get the button to pay it, no other option. Next step would be logging in to the store, but I'm not sure if by doing that I automatically pay or if there will be a page where I still can confirm or cancel the payment.
  14. Hi I bought AD some time back, mainly to support Serif. Now I can't open it. I have 1.4, maybe 1.5 is a paid upgrade – but certainly the older version should open anyway?
  15. Same here: there are some really basic features missing which keeps me from promoting AP to my colleagues.
  16. Use the clone tool instead? It's the third icon above the healing brush in you movie.
  17. Related: how AP behaves when I have more photos open than are shown as tabs messes up my workflow considerably: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/12901-closing-one-of-many-photos-next-active-picture-shouldnt-be-the-one-in-the-last-tab
  18. Hello Bill Welcome to Affinity Photo :-) This is what I tried: set the photo to black and white (in adjustments) and all the colour sliders to the right. Or: set the photo to black and white, then go to 'brightness / contrast' (also in adjustments) and set them to 100%. If anybody has another solution but no picture at hand: feel free to use http://manuschwendener.tumblr.com/post/26297108788, clicking brings you to a bigger size.
