> The request is to undo the crop to the latest crop's grid position (for further adjustements), rather than to the begining of the whole crop process.
This would still be very practical for me. -
Macro column is visible when I first open this Beta. That may be on purpose.
To hide it again View -> Studio -> uncheck Macro -
If I'm the only one getting this, that's fine :-)

Trying to describe how I got here.
- Opened a few jpegs
- Worked on this, cropped it, exported it, closed the original without saving it
- Re-dragged the exported picture into AP, while a second picture was still opened
- Now the dark column looks the same for both pictures - don't know if it already looked like this before I re-opened the one I had worked on
I am not using layers, all that was involved is cropping, inpainting, adjustment 'Levels' and adjustment 'Brightness/Contrast'. I have been doing this since before the official launch of AP, this Beta is the first version behaving like this (to my knowledge).
I can easily live with it, all the functions are here.
Edit: unlike in my first screenshot, also the Levels function is available. I did neither use 'White Balance' nor 'Black & White'. -

That's ok. I posted it for two reasons: a) if others had also seen it but not bothered to describe it, b) in case it happens to more people once the beta goes to production.
I'll try and describe the steps more carefully if it happens again. -

Hello earthshrine :-)
What do you see if in the top left corner you click on 'Affinity Photo' and then on 'About...'?
What you describe should be fixed in "1.6.7. (Beta 1)". If you see "1.6.6", you are on the newest official version, but the fix will only happen with the next update.
(Sorry if this is obvious to you.) -
Hi.
This is not easy to describe and doesn't happen each time I'm using AP. I don't think it ever happened before Beta 1.6.7 (Beta 1).
My workflow often is:
- open a photo (stay in photo persona)
- crop the photo
- go to the Adjustments panel to use 'Levels' (the first of the Adjustments)
Maybe in 50% of the cases 'Levels' doesn't show up, instead there is a long gap above White Balance. It happens too often to just be a glitch. -
If the answers above aren't helping: did you try in the photo persona? That's the icon in the top left corner of your screenshot.
When I use the Red Eye Removal * there, I only have to have the cursor at the red spot and click -> this replaces the red with a darker colour (there are no settings). If it's still not working: check that you have selected the correct layer.

@artnok, I sent the link to this thread to somebody at Affinity, they should reply soon.

Filed as a bug in AP 1.6.6. (cache problem, which explains why the behaviour is inconsistent).

Restarted my computer, working correctly for me now, opening 25 jpeg photos by dragging them all together on the AP icon takes a few seconds, then opens them all fine.
The photos have not been worked on before (maybe that makes a difference). -
On AP 1.6.6. now (now newer beta available at the moment); just tried to open 20 jpegs, couldn't.
-
Fixed in Beta 1.6.6 (GM) and thus also in AP 1.6.6.

If you (as forum admins) can insert a post after post1 this would be a possible solution, too:
Post 1 stays as it was, titles only, grouped as it is. This is the perfect overview for the videos.
Post 2 = expanded version.
Post 1 and Post 2 would link to each other, in the sense of "expand all" / "collapse all" - best at the top and the bottom of both posts. -
> spoiler tags
Good to know :-)
But the text is always "Reveal hidden contents". And if you have more than one they are too far apart.
Maybe use the option to post html code?
-
> Imagine all 200+ tutorials looking like this - I'm worried it will become too overwhelming
Yes.
In my opinion you need a way to collapse the new information, so that when I first look at the list I see only the titles, maybe in front of the titles the icon that links to vimeo and youtube.
Also in front of the title a + sign or "details" or "more"; when I click on that I see the 3 additional lines.
Plus a button "expand all" / "collapse all". -

PS: does it work as expected if you try to open the same files in AP 1.5.2? (not the Beta)
-
Can you check in 1.6.6. (Beta 8)?
I just imported 25 jpeg photos by dragging them together onto the AP icon, each about 10MB. It takes a moment to open them, but works as expected for me (MacbookPro, macOS Sierra 10.12.6).The photos have not been worked on before, I only copied them from the memory card of my camera to the Macbook.
[I didn't have problems with this in 1.6.6 (Beta 6), either; I know because I tested it.]
