  1. It would fit well under "Learn and Share". Maybe called 'Discoveries' (too vague?) or 'Use cases' (too dry?)
  2. I agree: the way the videos are grouped in post 1 really helps. (Overview is here https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/tutorials/designer, but not grouped.)
  3. > I've only been on this forum for a day, but there seems to be a persistent thread of non-response by Affinity to questions asked in this forum. That is just not true. I've never seen a company more involved in a forum. Also, see https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10410-common-feature-requests-index-> Interface
  4. Would it be possible to offer the written help chapters in AP as _one_ printable document while we wait for a handbook?
  5. Not on the roadmap yet, but on the list of common feature requests: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10410-common-feature-requests-index
  6. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10119-in-house-affinity-photo-video-tutorials-now-live/?p=44991: "Written documentation. We are in the process of developing a handbook for Designer and Photo. I think Designer will come first. There are no plans to provide printed material, instead an iBook or PDF will be offered from the affinity.serif.com website."
  7. If you mean stitching several pictures together, for example for a panorama: no, not yet. But it's on the list of common feature requests: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10410-common-feature-requests-index
  8. See https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10119-in-house-affinity-photo-video-tutorials-now-live/?p=44991
  9. > I don't get any notice when I get reply about my question, is there any setting I should turn on? Check your notification options (https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=core&area=notifications): - is "Auto follow topics I reply to." checked? - are all the notifications you want to get by email set to "Email? If it's still not working: is the your email address in your profile correct?
  10. Is it just me or are there others who'd like File - Open Recent to show a thumbnail picture?
  11. The magic wand in AP is the Inpainting Brush Tool, in the Healing Brush "bundle". (Not working if no layer is selected <- confused me some times, because I'm new to layers) > symmetrically warp switch from Mesh Warp Tool to Perspective Tool?
  12. (Found out by now that the Mesh Warp Tool works better than straightening.)
  13. > Interesting architecture! Yes, they are amazing (Aarhus, Denmark): http://www.dezeen.com/2013/01/15/isbjerget-housing-by-jds-architects-cebra-search-and-louis-paillard > Did you try using the clone tool? Now I did. While I can fill the empty edges with it it doesn't look good at all. --- Edit: I just tried the inpainting brush again and now it works on the "empty" parts of the picture :-) This fixes the sky, but ronnyb's idea of an inpainting option _during_ straighteing would also take care of the fence.
  14. Example with missing parts after straightening: .jpg https://www.dropbox.com/sc/tcln5mommv4veo8/AADXv3tGNKWEuxVk17JP8FzRa/2 .afphoto https://www.dropbox.com/s/jsym6iemqvw1h8q/DSCF5523.afphoto?dl=0
  15. Hi macca1980 It's the name that is a bit confusing (there was a thread about it, but it's not accessible since the launch): the colour replacement brush doesn't replace colours, but colour hues. Meaning it won't work on grey/white/pale colours. As far I can see the colour you pick has to be in your picture already, but I might have misunderstood that (see screenshot: the instructions on the bottom of Affinity Photo). I posted a feature request for a colour replacement option here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10190-photo-replace-one-colour-with-another-like-red-eye-removal-but-with-colour-picker
  16. Maybe this list helps? https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10119-in-house-affinity-photo-video-tutorials-now-live Looks quite structured to me (am a beginner myself, so will work my way through them).
  17. (Related: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10323-feature-request-inpainting-option-for-crop-and-filters)
  18. Click on "Oberfläche ein/aus", the last point on your screenshot ("Toggle UI" in English)
  19. See https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10119-in-house-affinity-photo-video-tutorials-now-live -> https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/tutorials/photo
  20. I use and like the Inpainting Brush a lot to clean up unnecessary details in my pictures. But sometimes I get stuck. In those cases it would be a big help to just be able to replace the colour of a disturbing element with the colour of the background - leaving the texture alone. The Colour Replacement Brush does that to some extent, but it can "only" replace one hue with another, thus not working for white/grey/black. Edit: in some cases dodging or burning the highlights did the trick (learned from the tutorial video 6. Retouching - Enhancing Landscapes/Architecture https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10119-in-house-affinity-photo-video-tutorials ) --- Examples: 1) https://manuschwendener.files.wordpress.com/2015/07/dscf5399_after.jpg [on the picture: Boy by Ron Mueck] Solved, see https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10190-photo-replace-one-colour-with-another-like-red-eye-removal-but-with-colour-picker/?p=75380 2) https://manuschwendener.files.wordpress.com/2015/07/ersatz-blog.jpg Solved, see https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10190-photo-replace-one-colour-with-another-like-red-eye-removal-but-with-colour-picker/?p=75440
  21. It's not possible yet, but MEB is aware that many people would like it (https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10004-settings-reset-deal-breaker/?p=42908).
