Ive just downloaded the latest bug fixes and its a shame but you still can't place, wrap text onto pages so wish this would be a feature of new system. I produce newsletters and currently pay a fortune for InDesign, and though I love it, its getting too pricey!

dear lungful - if you ditched Illustrator how did you manage with no curved pen tool or image trace?

Hi
I think this programme has promise but as I'm a graphic designer producing large newsletters I really need to be able to place text from doc, docx, open office, etc and that it will flow across multiple pages, columns. I will then need to place a photo and get it to text wrap.
Currently can't do this so hope the developers can add this facility. I am used to Indesign and am sick of paying money to Adobe! Similarly though I need Illustrator as your Affinity Designer doesn't have a curved pen tool or image trace.
I fear that your market is going to be tablet users, not graphic designers!!! In which case, do say. Thanks

Yes Paul Martin I agree - its not looking good I'm afraid, I am gonna have to continue with InDesign, its already cost me a fortune over the years but I daren't leave it now!! I will need to text flow multiple docx pages, insert photos and expect it to text wrap properly, all the usual stuff you do with ID. I am not spending any more time with it I will download a trial when the beta is completed.

Hi I'm a graphic designer and use extensively InDesign. I therefore need to be able to place a photo into a publisher doc - and be able to fit image proportionately and all the other ways that InDesign has.
I need to be able to place text from doc, docx and txt.
Etc. I was hoping for great things with Publisher and hoped that it would match InDesign. I am a Mac user.
Also, I really wish that Affinity Designer had a curved pen tool and an image trace, if you had this I would use that program all the time, as it is I have had to get Illustrator back, which is terrible as it all costs a fortune and I am a volunteer! Designer is good, but Illustrator is better.
Thank you HOPE I JUST GOT IT ALL WRONG!!

Just how do you do this? InDesign - right click and you can make any size photo almost fit any proportion ........
