I can confirm that this IS happening, but it's not a bug.... and it's really hard (if not impossible) to see on a white or checkerboard background.

So I changed Preview's background to black and get the same as you.

It's happening because there are two "Highlights" layers in each of those artboards introducing fading white (70%-0%) to the color.

Also, just as an aside..... on the two lower examples the color blocks' transparency fade midpoints are set to 100 and all the elements, except the text of course, extend way way beyond the artboards (possibly necessary for the highlights, but the color?) . Maybe it's all by design... just pointing it out if not.

    cheers

Oooohhhhhh! I see the problem now. I will update the file to reflect this. I started creating this months ago before I was as proficient in Designer so some of the artboards don't have the best implementation lol. These images are part of a synthesizer I've been creating. Thank you. I can now fix this and continue with my project.

You can crosscheck the exported PNG with a tool like IrfanView on Windows 10, in order to see if it may be a general PNG export issue or instead being more related to the Win 10 photo viewer itself.

Just to be sure I downloaded this and it was exactly the same as I said it was. Here's the render straight from the affinity file. You can clearly see it fading to white in those spots instead of fading to transparent. I've attached it for anyone to download and see for themselves.

  3. I created a document in Affinity Designer. It has several Artboards. 3 of my Artboards  render with backgrounds even though it's a PNG with transparent layers. The 3 Artboards have the transparency tool applied to their "Background" in a gradient fashion, which I can see in Affinity, but when I render the file the transparency becomes a white background instead of fading to nothing. Is this some sort of bug? How can I circumvent this problem?

  4. Using Affinity designer... Can someone explain this here? I've created two identical squares but for some reason when I export them and look at the pixels of each they are different. I inspected them using the pixel view and sure enough they aren't identical based off of where they seem to be positioned on the pixel grid. What causes this and how can I avoid it?

  5. Hi abject39,

I've just been playing around with creating slices and each time they generated in the correct order.

Can you attach the .afdesign file so we can try and track down the cause

Hey after troubleshooting I've found the bug is related to empty object names. It doesn't matter if it's a layer/group etc. If all of the slices are created from any object set of objects that do not have a name then it reverses the order of the slices numbering.

  6. I have no idea what's causing this. Whenever I create slices for my layers they reverse order. In one picture you can see the order of my layers. Then in the second picture you see that my created slices, starting from the top slice is numbered 8 down to 1 instead of the top slice being numbered 1 going down to 8. The numbering reverses in a descending order instead of it's usual ascending order. This is only happening for this one document. What am I missing that could cause this?

  7. I think it is fairly clear, technically.

    You are exporting files.

The question is that the selected files will be overwritten in the export process if you press "Export".

If you don't tick the files nor press "Export" then files can't be exported (meaning you can't export them with a new name).

It could be made better for sure as there is words "either", "cannot be", "untick" and "exclude". So lots of "negative" and "uncertain" words.

So how about word it like this: The ticked files will be overwritten in the export, untick files you don't want to be exported.

(Again one reason why I dislike the functions "Export" and "Import" over "Save" and "Load".... Just so confusing).

Even if the items are checked it doesn't overwrite the files. Maybe this is some sort of bug then.

  8. This is the most confusing notification I've ever received from a program. Either it's going to overwrite or it's not. 100% of the time I've encountered this notification it did not overwrite the previous files. Is there no way to clean up the process and allow me to overwrite or clean up the notification a bit? post-55143-0-33317700-1494091943_thumb.png

  9. Hi abject39,

That's the way it's designed to work. There's no way to lock the behaviour but in the case of the Inside you can use the Paste Inside command ( or press ⌥ (option/alt) + ⌘ (cmd) + V ) to paste the content inside the target element. The other two commands (top and behind) are not available as shortcuts.

Any chance the option to lock or shortcuts for the other options will be coming in the future?
