Is AFFINITY dead?
J.T replied to J.T's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
I'm sorry how this thread degenerated. I was convinced something was wrong with Serif because the latest AP release contains a bothersome bug with redrawing. I was expecting a fix to be released soon. If it wasn't for this problem, I wouldn't have started any thread. Yes, AP contains a few flaws that bother me (and other users), but I love this software. So please let's all be patient. -

Thank you for your reply. I hope a fix for said problem comes soon. If I knew 100% that I could all projects (there's a lot of them, and I can't tell their versions apart) open in the older version without problems, I would "downgrade". -

I know. I already had the video ready, so I provided it. Zooming is only a functional solution, but not a suitable one.

I have the same problem. Turning off h. acceleration does not help to resolve the error. In the old versions of AP this did not happen. (CPU: i5 10600 3.3 GHz; RAM: 16 GB; GPU: GTX 1660 SUPER) 2022-04-24 11-48-01.mp4

I discovered these bugs in the BETA version. For this reason, the thread is here.

Problem 1: Conversion form 16bit grayscale to 16bit RGBA I think that, correct conversion gray 3268/65535 must be converted as RGB 3268; 3268; 3268; (reverse conversion from NO GRAY rgb to gray may be different, by color format) conversion.mp4 Problem 2: The color captured on current image by the "Colour picker" tool must be 100% accurate! Of course, color captured outside the image is converted from 24bit RGB. Problem 3: The color filled must be 100% the same in all tools. picker.mp4 (All noise sliders are set to zero. Windows 10 20H2 - 19042.985) With saving to file: (You can check the color difference.) saving.mp4 Samle files: Version 1.9.2.1035 has the same problems. Test.afphoto

This problem is not related to the zoom. At the end of the video, the change is verified by the Picker tool (also visible in Info) I believe FX registers the color as 8bit and then converts it to 16bit. (This is a developer error.)
