I would also be able to switch to Affinity Designer if it can incorporate the ability to export vector data out into a DWG file format so that i can import into Autocad & 3dsMax. thx

I just want to second this. Export to DXF (in my case) would make it possible to use the beauty and simplicity of Affinity Designer for work on the laser cutter.
