Affinity-Serif don't listen to their customers.

If they didn't listen to their customers,  this forum wouldn't be.

It would be interesting if you would take time to explain.the tools you want, so other could add their two cents about their use and their need, to help Affinity design new tools according to everyone input.

Lack of developement doesn't help. Sometimes, different input help understand bugs because foreigners like me aren't as verbose as needed to describe a problem. It's the same with new tools without descriptions.

  4. It would be best to work.from HD PDF from those INDD files.

At least you would be sure about the end visual. Converters can be tricky and give erronous results.

And a PDF can easily be.openend by Affinity apps.

In ID, you can have like in APub, linked or embedded images, and it can be tricky to retrieve those last ones. Some times, bugged files won't display the links to linked files in the link panel, and it's difficult.to correct.

Having HD PDF and all the images used in the file (exported in a folder called "links") would help you.

  5. Hi @danielschenk

You should be able to delete the character break like any other character: positioning your cursor before or after it, and using delete or backspace keys.

If you display the special charaters (spaces, tabulations...) you'll be able to see the one used for page breaks, and it'll be easier to get your cursor at the right position to delete them.

I have the installation DVDs of CS6 no longer being read by my drive. They no longer offer download of the software, nor a replacement program for the DVDs (probably damaged by the excessive use of ink).

You can't expect a company to keep on providing old versions of softwares working on newer OSes when they're keeping on selling new versions.

They aren't different from other companies, with older versions of software compatible with older OSes, etc. They want people using their new (not so new today) subscription model, and we can understand they work toward this end, even if we don't like it.

But as you said, we can hope for other companies to provide us with complementary apps or replacements, file formats more compatible, and more common use of those apps. It was always annoying to have few choices, and feel exploited by those few companies because they knew it.

  7. Professionnals use different tools and apps suiting their needs. Only the result is labelled "professionnal".

Adobe don't want people keeping using old apps because they "forget" to pay royalties for some -S-o-n-y-  Dolby licence included in their apps... if I remember correctly, and they'd rather have subscribtions too.

  8. Same as you @Rick G

I'm used to old TextPad editor version 4.7 (faster than last version 5.x), and wouldn't change since I'm using it for long and can write regexp without thinking. It also provide iteration in the replacements, and that's usually missing in all the other apps.

On OS X, I was fond of TextWrangler that had interesting options too.

At some point, I wanted to switch to Linux, but unable to find a suitable remplacement for it, I never did.
