To keep the vintage feeling and mood, I wouldn't redo it, but would use paint to unify the background a little bit and mask most of the stains, and what we call "encre de Chine" (China ink ? a black, thick and indelebile ink) or some ink/paint diluted to get the same texture. My old ruling pens are certainly somewhere here
Do you have a picture of the full clock?

Hi,
When grouping textojects from an opened and modified PDF, the font and size is modified.
The font revert to the original font of the opened PDF (not installed on my computer). The size is not one used by the full document.

The difficulty here, is it's more like art than logo.
Logo are usually conceive with simplicity in mind to be able to reduce them, or only use part of them as small references.
With a simple Google search, I found sites giving good advices (focus on the illustrations):
https://venngage.com/blog/logo-design-tips/
https://www.logaster.com/blog/25-famous-brands-logos/And bad ones... with icons or illustrations instead of logo... either they don't know what they're talking about, or just produce content with whatever illustrations they found.

In other languages too, you have people to write text and others that read again and correct to avoid typos, get the correct punctuation and capitalize the right words, etc. They can also correct sentences poorly written, keep consistency along... It's a more technical approach, form instead of content.

Dev’ are paid to develop programs, not to read forums
Moderators can add tickets for bugs and report most wanted features, but since Serif doesn't want to do some retroengineering—that's illegal— to read AI files, they certainly won't be able to export to this closed format either.

If you only play with vector objects in a new document, nothing happen.
If you add an image at the bottom, and try to open the previously closed layers clipped together, the app crashes.

I can confirm that our developers have previously confirmed that we aim to use 100% of available resources, including the CPU so this is not unexpected.
I'm not sure it's a good idea... like the others said, it would be a return to the past to have apps that hung the whole computer and needing to be used as in old Apple II mode: 1 app at a time, stop everything else.
Or I misunderstood.
But today, we need different apps running, checking and answering emails... work is multitasks.

Instead of a big warning, the site can use example text in the fields, if the sentence is well written ("Write your question or problem here to replace this sentence").

Perhaps an option about the sensitivity when merging curves too, to help choose between different results.
-
I don't know where this is going... back to the subject.
If some improvements were made to solve this problem, it seems in some situations we end up with more nodes than needed. Different possibility as "add node" (in the middle of each segments) and simplify nodes (to reduce the numbers of nodes, keeping the curves), would be nice in the apps.

The download is still extremely slow.
It depends of your connexion, in few second my download was at 22M, perhaps your provider limit some downloads?

It could have been frame background or text decoration or character background, etc., but you can't access them in AD.
-
It looks like your app memorised a APub text frame with background colour... If you've got APub, open the file in it to correct the background.
You can also reset to the default parameters for this frame, clicking on:
-
And for info, when we check adds send by cutomers, we check embedded fonts, colour profile, paper size, amount of bleed and that the trim box is centered.
No need for colours bars nor "hirondelles" (registration marks).Page information can be usefull if files aren't renamed (_v1, _v2, etc.), to check it's the lastest version (time), after client applied corrections if the previous file(s) didn't respected the specifications.
-
-
It would be wrong to have the colours in the bleed, or we would have to add extra bleed to get them out of the area to respect needed specifications...

You need to set it to D on Windows versions, it's blank by default.

Don't forget to unlock the mask.

Hi @Jack54 and welcome,
You can't add links to other Affinity apps in the toolbar, but you've got options in the File menus:
You can assign them shortcuts in the preferences:
And in APublisher, you can also switch persona, to access parts of APhoto or ADesigner tools:
-
Follow the steps in @firstdefence 's post, using this tool, you'll get a more perfect selection this way, and you'll be able to modify the mask painting on it with black and white if needed:
-
But since you move the selection, you won't be able to recover it completely. Perhaps it'll be faster to open the original image and do another selection, that trying to correct the one you'll have selecting the transparency of this image to create a new mask.
For example, after moving the selection, I miss the left and bottom part of the original selection:
-
You can unlock the background in 2 ways:
Clicking on the lock on the layer, or selecting an object or more and unlocking with the lock button on the panel:
You can select the mask or another adjustement by developping the layers, or clicking on the mask square
And if you want, you can drag the mask above the image or "free" it in the context menu (right-click):
Once the mask selected, clipped to the image or above the image, you'll be able to move it.

I don't mind the splash screens if they're polite enough to stay in the back, and don't pop-up to get the focus and mess things I'm writing and doing like a dog in a bowling game!
