1. It's not so easy since it can take time, depending of your system. My AD chocked on trying to drag/place more than 3 icons. It would have take forever to process 100+ icons. The faster trick is using Notepad++ and using the macro to add a group with a name corresponding to the file name, but you need to recreate the macro following the how-to or correcting the code since the forum keep on displaying "&quot ;" instead of " and ">" "<" instead of "<" and ">" Once the macro is recorded, you can use it on a lot of icon files you'll drop in Inkscape to create you main file, before opening this file in AD to add your assets.
2. Hello, You can ask your printer for dimensions when in doubt, depending on machines and paper, it's some times wisest to ask first than having to modify a file for technical reasons.

Not fit for production

Like you, @SrPx I've got a not so young and not so hight-end computer made from parts I bought -- no need anymore for a gamer one since I don't play now -- and I install a lot of programs, usually around themes like design, photo, typo, PAO (publication with computer in french)... AP and AD run smoothly but for some bugs like when I use the wacom tablet with stabiliser on little parts without zooming in (seems it doesn't like turning around at the end of a stroke with stabiliser), but the apps are fine, and most of the time the recovery file help after a crash. (I usually get a Firefox with a lot of tabs opened taking, with Thunderbird a lot of my only 8G of memory...). It run file too on an Windows 10 tablet, but it's not fit for using such programs (not enought screen ). The only real problems I had was at work, on a Win 10 workstation, when I installed a buged font and AP and AD where crashing when loading fonts. (I tested on Win 7, and the problem didn't occured... But I suspect it's partly Suitcase Fusion and the fonts updates on Win 10 that cause trouble). There are so many computer configurations possible with PC, that it's difficult to debug. (And since Win 10, it's difficult to find logical answers to bugs... I don't know if I'm getting old or if it's Win 10... But it's the strangest OS I worked with... Even OS X and some Linux distro are a lot more logical ! ) [wrote on my phone, not sure if I'm to blame or it for typos]
4. @deegolden it seems your main layer "Figure two..." isn't visible but only the mask.
5. If you opened a file (for example a JPEG or RAW) and save it as an APhoto file (.afphoto extension), it will only open in APhoto or ADesigner, but your JPEG/RAW original file will exists in the folder, if you saved it first on your computer, it won't be erased by the APhoto file. It's your orignal file that you need to open in Lightroom or another app. If you set your computer to open files in APhoto, without copying them first, it's possible you only saved the APhoto file, instead of keeping the original files in your folders. You'll have to really copy them (the original ones) this time or, to export the APhoto files in another file format to be able to open them with other programs.
6. Did it happen with another PNG not made with AD or AP ? Did you checked the CSS ? Perhaps there's a background color.

Crashing Designer

You don't use the stabiliser ? AD usually crashes when I use the Wacom tablet with the stabiliser and I am doing little parts when the pen come back on itself at the end (no long strokes). Zooming in, no stabiliser and avoiding drawing little rounds (those are not really usefull, but I use real pens the same way when I want clean endind).
8. They are not in a group or clipped to something with transparency ? The colors are 100% opacity in the color panel ?
9. Yes, I edited my post but the "Activity page" doesn't take it in account
10. From the tests above, clipping (v01.pdf) and masking (v02.pdf) end up with a PDF using clipping. The bad one is the masking clipping, since it adds the mask as a mask and as a form with color at the bottom, and the color add a light stroke visible on the PDF. But there's no rasterisation.
11. Clipping or masking produce vector PDF. Perhaps you need to create new documents with part of your design until you find the one that cause rasterisation ? @JimmyJack it seems it's this part that's causing trouble… v01.pdf v02.pdf American Flag Mask.afdesign
12. There's a stroke on your round mask, a red one. Check your original file, you won't see it on the screen, but perhaps it's part of pieces of your design.
13. Without looking at your file, we can only guess and can't really help you. Do you have another file with the same problem or can your alter the file and post it so we can search where did it come from ?
14. Do not allow JPEG compression too. To check your PDF, you can open it in AD and check if it's only curves/rectangles… or images (the parts you need to modify).
15. That's ok for pasting since the important thing is pixels, and it should keep the number of pixels. When working for print, that's better to stay with pixels. You need to resize a document to the same dpi if you want to copy-paste in another one and keep the same size. Changing resolution and pasting are 2 different things.
16. I don't have this problem on PC with version 1.6.4.104. My artboard stay at its mm size, my 210×297 and 100×100mm rectangles too. Objects are resized using anchor to page without an artboard. test72dpi.afdesign test300dpi.afdesign
17. Usually, for white reflects on the nose or the forehead, I tint it with pale pink or pale orange… but if half of the face is missing, that's not repairable.
18. If you want to change the resolution, use the resize option and modify dpi value. Objects will stay at the same size.
19. Hi, @MikeW is it different if you rasterize the layers in the file instead ?

Color Shadow

ANd here an example, you can add the outer glow to an object or a group, it's slighty different. Edit: I did it by groups since it was faster at first glance, but it seems to be done on each shape on your example. C2086B7D-40D9-4B70-94D3-084DA8B33C47.afdesign
21. Hello @chips, You can test DigiKam, it's got import/export features and a map option. https://www.digikam.org/

Excel Chart Pasting Bugs

I juste tested with "copy and paste without PDF", and it's not as clean as I usually did, like MikeW, exporting first in a PDF file (a lot of pieces instead of simple rectangles and strokes). I tested from LibreOffice, I'll do more testing from Excel and Words later.
23. Same as @firstdefence, I would do this in APhoto. Taking pictures of the differents parts, sorting them with transparent background in folders for reuse later… Doing sketches and painting in APhoto, and adding buttons, flowers, etc., using layers, adjustements and effects to mix them together. In APhoto you can use the perspective tool or distort grid so they would fit better.
24. I'm running both apps on Win 7 too, without problems. Could it be related to some drivers? Did you updated them or try modifying some drivers settings?
25. Or you can use the file provided by @JimmyJack to add a new Style you'll be able to reuse and tweak later.
