  1. If it's with AP, you can use the Live filters, or with AD you can duplicate, group and use a blur effect, and a mask on this group to preserve the part you want. AD: AP:
  2. That's interesting, and annoying… I usually use a SWAP partition, and relocate Windows variable to this partition. Does this mean AP, AD and APub use those folder instead of the one alocated for the temp files?

Truetype Fonts - no BOLD option

No, if I use keys &é"'(-è_çà, who become numbers only using the shift key, it's the same as hiting the numeric pad, shortcut are "ctrl+1, ctrl+2, etc.", when using those shortcut with QXP on Mac was reconized as "ctrl+num pad 1", for example. Theorically, those keys should be different, (different codes), but I don't have anymore a program to check those values (values of key, not result displayed after hitting them ).

Truetype Fonts - no BOLD option

I do those shortcut on Windows, when I was on Mac I did them with command (that we call "pomme" = apple) + numeric pad
  5. This seems logical: with a vector object, the gradient is a property of this object and can be retrieve, modified and save as a gradient, on a pixel layers, there are only values for pixels, you can't edit the gradient later, like when applying a gradient to a mask. So you can't memorize the gradient you used on those pixels since it was merge with the values of the pixels. It is added to the "Recend used colours", if you apply it to a vector object, you should be able to save it.

    Document resize bug

But when he decrease the DPI, shouldn't the amount of pixel decrease? The reference should be the original size, and increasing or decreasing this amount depending of the DPI if resample is checked.
  7. I think AD, AP and APub import PDF (and .ai files IF there is a PDF embedded in it) the same way. You'll buy it later when you'll need it. Have fun!
  8. Hum… I'm not sure what you want to do. Text frames are for text to adjust to frame, the frames delimiting the columns width or height needed. There are few cases when you need the frame to be adjusted to the text, or you would use Artistic text. With artistic text, you won't have overflow if you decide to have a larger font and modify the Paragraph Style. If you keep your frames heights wider, you won't have overflow either. For this case, I'd rather use frames of the size of the blue rectangles, with text centered horizontaly and verticaly. With real column/paragraphs of text, double-clicking behave as expected.
  9. Those are small textures for filling layers. For this, you need to: create a rectangle or another form Select the Gradient/Fill tool and set the fill option to Bitmap Select a texture Resize the handles for the texture to be at the appropriate size
  10. AP can open some AI files if they contain an embedded PDF, but it won't be able to save the document as .ai: you'll have to save it as its own format or export it. If you want to embed and modify a document, first convert it to .afphoto or .afdesigner files. You'll be able to embed and modify those properly.
  11. Or you can use a Mask above all the other layers and paint in black/erase the part you want to be transparent. Or use a pixel layer and paint in black on it or anobject set to mode Erase. You can set transparent background in Document > Transparent background
  12. You friend can convert it to curves in Illustrator, or you can do it with inkScape: You rasterize the stroke(s) and cut them (I did it one by one to keep them independent) You open inkScape and paste it You vectorize them You cut and paste them in AD The files: CHAPPAS2.afdesign CHAPPAS.eps

The other solution is to create Character styles and use other shortcuts (I usually use ctrl+numeric pad number for [ italic | bold italic | bold ], and for variants like medium or black ctrl+alt+ num pad or ctrl+shift+num pad, etc.). You can asign shortcut to the Paragraph|Character styles.
  15. After all those tests, I hope you'll share at least a part of your final work, to understand what you had in mind with this project
  16. You need to convert your text to curves (ctrl+enter on Windows).
  17. As I said (and the parameters are at the same position in the English version): Tabs: Général = General Dynamique = Dynamic Texture = Texture Pinceaux secondaires = Sub brushes Options: Variation de teinte = Hue jitter Variation de luminosité = Luminosity jitter
  18. There are parameters to change tint and luminosity of some of the brushes:
  19. Hi, I know it was already improve once, but it's not enough. The overflow red dot (or triangle for flowing to another frame) is only visible depending of the height of the frame: if we zoom out to create and adjust a new frame, it disappears. And the level of zoom needed for it to appear can be important! For example, if I need to flow ±325 footnotes on 250 pages, needing sometimes only 1 line at the bottom, I'll have to zoom in/zoom out 500 times! Second bug with this: it's impossible to find overflow in small frames if the zoom level doesn't allow enough space between the blue nodes of a frame to display the red dot. Looking for overflow with a zoom of 270% on a document isn't a good workflow. While in text mode those indicators should be displayed, and perhaps bigger when zooming out, so it's easier to click on them. They should be shown with other tools too, but smaller.

    The Dead of London

If the images and files of those old posts in Learn and Share could be restored, it would be nice!
  21. The usual "no wrap for capitalized word", "no wrap for end of column|frame|page", "no wrap at last word of paragraph" would be simpler and fit a lot of situations, when those parameters seems to need adjustments depending of the column's width, especially if they cause trouble with setting for large values.

    Fonts

IF you want to find a font, you can search on sites with tools like WhatTheFont or whatfontis, or look at site like Dafont or fontsquirrel. This text look like Optimus princeps font.
  23. In different tabs? If it's an animated GIF, as different layers would be better, the same way GIMP do. I can't remember how PS do it, since I don't use GIF at work.
  24. You can use the Node Tool while holding the alt key: it'll act as a lasso to draw and select the nodes.
