earl_grey reacted to Glicky in Symmetry Tool
Please add to ADesigner something like the amazing Symmetry Tool from CorelDRAW (and Adobe illustrator), that allows to create all kinds of shapes and lines in a symmetrical pattern easley and instantly.
(In AD its only for "brushes" in the "pixel persona")
Thanks.

earl_grey reacted to Mikeintosh in Zeplin or Avocode integration or own solution (critical)
Hi,
i know this topic was already suggested elsewhere, however devs never answered any of these threads, nor commented on this feature at all. So here we go again. I work as a UI designer, which mostly includes web design. Therefore I need a way to share my work with non-designer programmers. Not just exports but other stuff like typography, dimensions, margins etc. Other software integrates with services like Avocode or Zeplin (namely Photoshop, Sketch). This makes Affinity much less useful for web designer as I am pressed to hand all the information over to web developers. So I would like to know whether Serif devs plan to include such integration or release its own solution. This is an essential feature for designers like me and very long time overdue. Please, Serif, comment on this finally.

earl_grey reacted to MagicOfIllustration in timeline animation affinity photo/designer
I Agree, this would be a very welcome feature. It would not even have to do everything other animation tools can. Just tracking a few things in key frames would be a great addition, like Position, Scale, Rotation and opacity would be enough for a lot of simple animations. You don't need to track every point in a curve object, if you just track the objects or groups properties it would be enough.
If it needs to be a separate product I would be more than happy to pay for it. I've tried Synfig and Open toonz but they do not import the drawings from Affinity Designer correctly. Even if I try to copy the drawing to inkscape and then export it, the tools can not handle gradients correctly. Maybe After effects of Toon boom would correctly import the drawings but they are just to expensive for the tasks I need them for.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @LOGerin1.
Serif have indicated a few times that they currently have no plans to add animation features to any of the Affinity apps.

earl_grey reacted to pikachu001 in Affinity Animate (my concept)
>> My english is very very bad, so do not pay attention to my mistakes. :c << All this is just my conception. It could be good alternative to Adobe Animate. Basic functions: - Timeline for create animation. - Easy export animation to xml file. - Export to popular video formats (.mp4, .avi). - Export animation to .gif - Easy project import from affinity designer and affinity photo. - Effects for more proffesional animations (blur, wave) Tools: - Skeleton animation tool. - Camera tool. Assumptions: - Keyframes animation for simple animations (e.g. animated presentations, vector animations, baners). - Skeleton animation for games.

earl_grey reacted to Ben in Sneak peeks for 1.7
Thought I'd give you a glimpse of some of the features that will be coming in 1.7.
Please note - this thread is only for discussing the features detailed here. Postings related to other feature requests should be posted on their own thread (else they will get deleted from this thread).
We have spent considerable time overhauling the internals of some of our main tools. It's been a labour of love, but it's going to open up greater possibilities for our core tool set.
The core tools are:
- Move tool
- Pen tool
- Node tool
- Shape creation tools
- Text tools
- Fill and Transparency tools
- Place Image tool
- Vector Crop tool
So, what improvements can be expected?
- Advanced grid editing on spread (move the grid origin and edit it's axis with a handy new widget, with full snapping of course)
- Guides can be created and moved in all the core tools, plus a toggle to turn guide editing off
- Move the artboard ruler origin (with editing toggle)
- Create objects and shapes into an arbitrary grid
- Rotate and flip objects in grid planes (great for people working in isometric), plus an option to rotate shapes in plane using the Move tool
- The Move tool will now allow you to cycle though selection boxes, including regular boxes and grid plane aligned boxes
- Snapping performance improvements
