    Hi,
I would like to suggest adding a Path Width Tool for easier and more precise stroke adjustments. This tool would allow users to thicken the outline at specific points by simply clicking and dragging with the mouse. Other software like Adobe Illustrator and Amadine have a stroke width tool.
The current method, using the Pressure chart in the Stroke panel, is not as user-friendly or accurate as it could be.

I'm unsure if this will apply to your specific workflow, however you may wish to try the below options:
When using the Move Tool to resize your object, ensure that Force Pixel Alignment is enabled and Move By Whole Pixels is disabled on the top toolbar:

This will ensure that your elements are on whole Pixel values for the X,Y & H,W transform and may reduce/resolve the blurriness you're seeing when Transforming.
Alternatively, you can use the Blend Options to force Anti-aliasing to be off specific layers, which may also stop this from occurring.
You can find the Blend Options under the Cog icon at the top of the Layers Studio and then change the Anti-aliasing setting as required:

Note this setting applies to each layer individually and therefore will need to be changed across multiple layers, if necessary in your file.
    I hope this helps!

    Hi,
I know there was already a topic like this. But always, when I try to resize pixel art or old graphics (low resolution), it always destroys my work and creates blurred edges.
Affinity Photo has a tool named Pixel Tool, and in Serif 2.3, they added a pixel grid. And I think Affinity can be good software for editing pixel art graphics, but having the ability to change interpolation during resizing would significantly enhance its capabilities in this regard.

I do not want to rescale the whole document, I want to rescale one or two elements in the document.

A lot of websites have the "control+K" shortcut to open a search box that will search and show anything related.

As a beginner in AP, I know what I want but have no idea where it is.
It could search on the name and descriptions of the tools and then even show a shortcut, if available.
Would also be nice to save the last used ones (launched from there), so next time you want to search, you might already have it ready to use even if it doesn't have a shortcut.

I tried finding if it was already asked for, but search, tools, find, are generic enough that it shows anything but that if there's already a suggestion. TBH, I would expect it to already have it.

earl_grey reacted to Ash in 2.3.0 to be released this morning!
    Hi All,
I’m pleased to say that we will be pushing 2.3 live to retail this morning. The beta versions were updated yesterday to the same build (2.3.0.2165) as detailed in Patrick’s post here. This means the beta versions are in effect exactly the same as the retail versions we will push so you can keep them installed if you wish.
As always it’s been a pleasure working with you all on this release and cannot thank you enough for all the bug reports and other feedback you have given. I mentioned at the start of this beta we are working towards a shorter cadence between updates to help us release improvements and bug fixes sooner - and I hope you agree this has worked very well.
With that in mind we will be starting 2.4 beta very shortly (hopefully in just a couple of weeks). Looking forward to seeing you all on here for that!
    Thanks again,
    Ash

Which application and what release of that application are you using?
I can see this in Photo 2.2.1 (and 2.3.0 beta), and for me the rotation is reset and the image is zoomed out (smaller) when I return to the original document tab. This should be posted to the Bugs forum, rather than here as Feedback.
As you didn't mention the zooming, I wonder if you're on V1, where the rotation resetting also occurs but the zooming doesn't (for me).

earl_grey reacted to Ash in 2.3 New features and improvements list
    Hi All,
Below is the list of all new feature and improvements which are included in the 2.3 beta (bug fix list is available here).
To learn more about these features please click on the link to go to each feature's dedicated post. To give feedback or report bugs against any of these features please reply to that same post (also check out bug reporting and feedback tips).
    • Move Data Entry improvements
    • New tags panel for adding Alt Text to images and objects
    • Spiral Tool
    • Ability to change Asset Panel background colour
    • Fields now available in Find and Replace
    • Pixel grid added
    • "Keep selected" preference now available in Pencil Tool
    • Create and place password protected PDFs
I should say in general we are now aiming to do slightly smaller updates more regularly than before so we can test and release in smaller chunks. This will allow us to get improvements and fixes out quicker, as well as having overall benefit to the stability of the apps.
The beta phase will now be shorter (4-6 weeks) for any update, and for that reason we will be avoiding any significant changes to functionality during beta as we focus on fixing bugs and correcting unintentional behaviour. This does mean that more of your improvement suggestions may need to wait until a future update (e.g. like some of the Move Data Entry suggestions you made during 2.2 beta which have now been added to 2.3), but please keep those suggestions coming!
    Getting the 2.3 beta
If you have not enrolled into the beta program yet and would like to take part, you can do so here. This will immediately give you access to the latest 2.3 beta builds to try for yourself.
If you are already enrolled in the beta program you have two options:
    1. If you still have the 2.2 beta installed, you can now run up those beta versions and you will be prompted to update them to the 2.3 beta.
    2. If you have uninstalled the 2.2 beta, you will need to go back to Your Account -> Downloads and product keys and find your previous order for the Affinity Beta Software Program, and you can download the 2.3 beta from there.
    Thanks,
    Ash

    Hi All,
We have just made 2.2 live across all App Stores and our website. As always, the feedback we have received from you all during this beta has been an incredible help in both shaping the new features as well as squashing many bugs!
The build we have released is the same as RC3 (build 2005), meaning for the time being whether you use the latest beta version or switch to using the release version they are the same. If you anticipate taking part in the next beta you may wish to keep your current beta version installed, as this will be updated on auto update when a new beta is available. This will either be a 2.2 patch if we feel one is needed, or moving straight onto a 2.3 beta.
It would be impossible for us to do what we do without your support, and I just wanted to say a huge thanks for everything you have contributed to this release.
    All the best,
    Ash

It's more for the fact that the vector formats can be used as bitmap fills via file explorer, but can't be selected without using a wildcard search in the file name field, since they do work as bitmap fills it would make more sense if they were selectable from the file explorer from the start when the search filter was set to 'All Documents'.

earl_grey reacted to walt.farrell in SVG works in the Fill tool
You won't be able to on Mac, Nathan. But on Windows the File Explorer dialog that Affinity utilizes will allow you to type *.SVG into the filename field and then press enter, which will regenerate the file list restricting it to just files with the SVG extension, and you can then select them. The Search bar in that dialog may also work for this.

earl_grey reacted to Dan C in Convert rectangle shape text into curve shape text.
Thanks Hangman - I was about to reply with the same suggestions as above!
The order of operations is what's important here, when you draw your Quick Shape and use the Text Tool, it is converted to a 'Shape Text' object, which cannot be edited with the Node Tool, as is the case with Quick Shape objects.
When filling this Shape Text object with text and then using Convert to Curves, it's expected that the entire selected layer/object is converted, meaning your text is also converted to curves.
However, as shown above, if you first draw your Quick Shape and now use Convert to Curves first, then use the Text Tool on the resulting Curves object, you will see this is now a 'Curve Text' object, which can be manipulated with the Node Tool as expected - but allows for text editing within, rather than having text that has been converted to Curves.
I hope this clears things up

    Hi earl_grey,

Unfortunately the 2.2 beta release was accidentally released to the wrong group for a short while, which is why you're seeing this message. For EXE users this update was never actually available on the website so thats why its currently available. If you go to %ProgramData%\Affinity\Designer\2.0\ and delete the JSON files that are there, you will not get the prompt on launch of the app for the non-existant update.
