  1. Hello!

I have a barcode in tiff format that needs to be 100% black/white in my document before sending to print.

I have imported the barcode to Affinity Photo, checked with the picker tool that its 100% black/white (100/0 on the greyscale) and saved it as Greyscale TIFF 8-bit.

When placed into Affinity Designer and color picking it, the white appears to be at the correct value (100 grey) but the black reads "3" for some reason and not 0.

Am I missing something here? Does the color profile in Designer has something to do with it? Im using UNCOATED FOGRA 29 (ISO 12647-2) by request from the printing house. I sense there might be a way doing all this directly into Designer but I haven't figured out how yet.

Thanks in advance, I have been swirling around searching a while in the forum...probably not enough

What are you using Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo

    1. Using the pen tool draw a shape that fits the contour of the shape you wish to wrap the text around
    2. Click on the text frame tool and mouse over the shape you have just drawn and click, this will convert it too a text frame and the text will remain upright and not sheared.

I am forever grateful, thank you!

  3. Allright, I guess there is a quite simple explanation out there for this but Im not sure I got the terminology right when searching.

I'd like to make the text line breaks follow a shape without using separate text boxes for each line of text or (as in this case) inserting blank spaces/tabs for each line. I have tried the skew/shear (?) function of the textbox but that warps the perspective of the text in a way that is not wanted in this case.

    Thanks in advance!

  4. Hi jonne.b,

    Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

All objects from your file are vectors and are being exported as such for me.

I've opened your file and exported it again as EPS (see below) and everything seems fine. Am I missing something?

To which format are you trying to export?

    Hi, thanks for the reply!

I don't know if my eyes play tricks on me, but here is a screenshot where I clearly can see the right line less sharper than the other ones.

This was a screenshot of your exported EPS file. I've tried PDF, EPS, PNG.

  5. Hello,

Just got into Affinity Designer and enjoying it so far!

Im working on a design thats is supposed to go to print and Im struggling a bit making all the lines appear correctly when exporting. The diagonal line to the far right is the culprit, the others seems to be ok when exporting. I have a sense this topic has been up a number of times before but got a little lost in the search. Any guidance is appreciated!
