  1. Oh-oh. Problem solved YOU WERE RIGHT! I signed out and signed back in again and it solved it. THANK YOU! Proving yet again that however smart I think I am, I can still do dumb things 🤣
  2. Nah. tried removing the app then reinstalling. Same issue. I guess I will need to manually add assets for now.
  3. Hi Walt, I did all that. I am a retired I.T. person quite familiar with trying to debug some of these issues (you would not know this so I thought is best to share). The odd thing though, is that I can go to the website and download the assets, then manually add them to the app. this indicates that it may be an issue with the app itself. My next thought would be to delete the app and reinstall it. What are your thoughts?
  4. Nah, that just expands the selection to show all the assets and whatever guides are there. I thought of that too.
  5. Thank you @walt.farrell I hadn't thought of that. This was the extent of the message provided. I ended up manually adding the assets to my app, but it is still puzzling. There was no further info provided. I have a fiber connection with GB bandwidth so it isn't about that, I am sure.
  6. Hi there, Can someone assist? I have tried to download the rain, snow and rainbow overlays, but I keep encountering the same problem. It doesn't even start and indicates a problem, but no solution. What are your thoughts? My setup is: iMac 27 with i9, 32gb and 2tb SSD Big Sur latest version Thank you.
  7. Thank you! I figured it out. The one detail I could not figure out, was to ensure that I used a "fill" when using the pen/polygon tool. then by moving it as a demoted layer from the leg, I had a near perfect cut. 38x20_Palissandro_Blue_on_Maple_Callout_on_Lt_Gr_Background.afphoto
  8. Thank you. Trying to follow here. Should I convert to vector? I can figure out the use of the pen in polygon mode. it's just as easy to me as the Marquee tool. I am curious about the vector "thing" as I haven't used this in the past. I have uploaded the files. If you can show me what you mean, this would be of immense help. Thank you. 9. Greetings all people great and smart, I have been using the marquee tool to "cut" the lines of the photo shots provided to me by my client, during assembly. I keep getting jagged edges and suspect that this is more a function of the poor quality .png than the app. This method seems to be the only one to straighten out, otherwise, unfocused line edges. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
  10. I remember starting on Affinity Photo and Designer when they fist became available. I was no further ahead than when I had Adobe® Creative Suite 5.5. Retirement and some “side-gig” photocomposition work, required me to really apply myself to learning layers. I remember literally loosing my cool when I couldn’t figure out why I could not place a decorative cushion in my scene. Gradually, my understanding developed more and now I “think” in layers. I never thought of myself as a “late to the table”, 69 year old creative and then along come Affinity. My advise to anyone starting is to absorb ALL you can on layers. this is pretty much the foundation for everything in photo composition work. In_line_throws_HIGH_Rez.afphoto
  11. It would be ideal to have a shortcut key for the place function. Having to go to the top menu bar and use the drop-down to get to place it’s really a waste of time on the workflow. Thank you.
  12. Love the platform! Affinity deserves all the praise and accolades over the "Screw As A Service" Adobe! It helped me to become a creative, something I could never have imagined. Thank you.
